Re: Nicalis Announces VVVVVV for 3DS eShop

Objection

"Previously Nicalis has teamed up with Studio Pixel (Cave Story, Ikachan), Nicklas Nygren (NightSky) and NIGORO (La-Mulana)."
So...Cave Story...since those other games never saw the light of day for this console audience.

Re: Get Your Special Resident Evil Miis Now

Objection

I was kinda expecting these to be lame and look more like Miis than anything like the characters. I was correct.
I can't complain too much since they were free, but I don't really see the point at all, either. Hope RE on 3DS is good though.

Re: Nintendo Explains Lack of Online Play in Star Fox 64

Objection

If you didn't want to take the time to make a full game, you shouldn't have released it for full price. And if you are of the "online wouldn't be worth it" crowd, that's fine, I kind of agree. But then there's no way to excuse the full-price ($40) price point. Slightly improved graphics do not make one game a full price re-release. You'll notice when they do this on PS3, they add features (3D, trophies) on top of the better graphics AND they feature 2+ games! There is no excuse for this, and frankly OOT 3D is nearly in the same boat. (Well done port but not equivalent to a full-price new game.)

Re: Review: Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars 3D (3DS)

Objection

I really liked this game until about 10 or 11 missions in. I've attempted it probably 5 times, losing 5-7 hrs of wasted time and each time I get cheap shotted at the end. The AI purposefully all targets one unit (when they rarely if ever do this under normal conditions.) Seeing as this is about 1/3 through the game, I can only imagine it gets more frustrated and BS-y. I can't recommend it all to anyone anymore. Proceed at your own risk.

Re: Resi Revelations Trailer Features Classic Voice Acting

Objection

There was nothing wrong with the voice acting. Seriously, what standards are people using?
The main thing that has me apprehensive is the controls. Oh, and actually buying a CAPCOM game without something happening that severely lets me down. Because that's happened a lot lately.

Re: Localisation Evidence Grows as Pandora's Tower Demoed at Expo

Objection

@spoonybard 66-I rather doubt it, although it'd be interesting and better than nothing, I suppose. But I think some people, including myself, aren't going to hold out and buy the next console to maybe get games we expected on this one.
@67-"It'll just cost more." That would be true and doable and I would not complain at all if the Wii was region-free. Which it's not, unless you mod it. So either I do something illegal or I have to buy another Wii. Neither is happening any time soon.

Re: Talking Point: The Growing Storm of Operation Rainfall

Objection

To anyone who says people should import and shut up: no. You realize the cost of that? Another console (yes lets support Nintendo further, BRILLIANT,) adapters for another region, might still be inaccessible for language barrier. Why don't YOU shut up? You're an enabler, the kind of weak-pants consumer that lets Nintendo get away with aiming as low as possible to make a buck. You won't take risks? Then neither will Nintendo.

See what I did? I demonized you. Which is exactly what you're doing. Either help or keep silent. You're not being wronged in any way; hell, if the Operation somehow works, you'll owe this group and its members.

A lot people seem to think its just about "three hardcore JRPGs." Its about much more than that. As some have listed above, there are over a dozen BIG games that have not made it over to other regions. At the rate this is going, don't be surprised if Nintendo decides not to bring over the next Metroid or the next big new IP they do. They'll stick to Mario and Zelda and that'll be about it. And I guess if that's all it takes to make you happy as a gamer, then to each his or her own. But variety is the spice of my life and if a company isn't willing to invest in their console (at least a year before their next) then neither am I going to (for either.)

Re: Xenoblade's North American Release Chances Take a Knock

Objection

@kkslider- I don't agree. Tonebone, the argument ISN'T that the Wii has had amazing games, its that THESE and other great-looking games are not coming out anymore. Wii MIGHT have Zelda:SS this year? The other systems are getting dozens of big titles, Batman, Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, Mass Effect, Gears of War, etc between now and Q1 2012 and we MIGHT get a Zelda? And notice that I didn't put a "new" Zelda, because Skyward Sword looks fun. But it does not look new.

Re: Xenoblade's North American Release Chances Take a Knock

Objection

@Incognito D- Except the Wii is region-locked so you'd either have to hack your system or buy another console.

Considering the dead last year, and the fact that it looks highly unlikely that this, Pandora's Tower or The Last Story will be released in NA, I think I have finally given up on the Wii and maybe even NoA/ Nintendo consoles in general. So that's my ultimatum, if anyone in that company cares, give this gamer a game or else lose him to your competitors.

Re: Enjoy the Sights in this Conduit 2 Environments Trailer

Objection

I saw this trailer on another site the other day, and i hate to be the one to vocalize this, but I really hope that its the trailer that is making the models and texturing look so mediocre. I genuinely hope its compressed video and not lackluster art, since the trailerlegitimately looked worse than Conduit 1, among many other games. I'm hoping that's not the case, and I like that there's a co-op campaign this time around.

Re: 3DS Helps Developers Render Fog Effects Via Its Own Chip

Objection

@Jafri/Corbs-I really think complaining about that should be grounds for temp-ban. The frequency is getting ridiculous.

As for the chip, I hope that its a decent one that Nintnedo stuck in for actual use rather than some kind of obscure bragging chip ("we have that built in lol", "but does anyone use it?", "no it's awful")

Re: Nintendo Download: 14th March 2011 (North America)

Objection

PvZ is pretty awesome. I'm a little worried about the downgrade on DS, from what I saw in a preview vid, the frame rate took a hit among other things. I'll wait for the review to see what they thought, hoping the reviewer can compare to other versions.

Re: Nintendo Download: 7th March 2011 (North America)

Objection

"It's a right royal knees-up" I've never heard this expression, is it an English thing? I'm assuming it's positive. Kinda confusing if it is for a story for N.A. then.

"Ever wondered what the b*stard offspring of Breakout..." To me, either you have to use the word or not. I don't think it's too offensive to use, since it is of the original meaning rather than a slur against a male. Just my opinion, but I thought I'd share my thoughts.

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 Likely to have a Bigger Budget

Objection

Although I haven't played either, the general consensus of my friends and online buddies is that Colo(u)rs was great (espeically for a Sonic game) and Episode 1 was short and kinda meh. I'd like to see them continue to make good full retail games instead of short, episodic titles. Very rarely does that format work. Like, usually only if your name is Telltale.

Re: Talking Point: Why Nintendo and Rare Should Reunite

Objection

Well, Rare has been dying for years in my opinion. I'm not yet convinced that anything they did after Starfox Adventures was that great. I'm playing through the beginning of Kameo right now and it's pretty mixed so far, but I hope it turns out decent by the end. Those other titles (besides maybe B&K) don't interest me (and apparently lots of gamers) in the slightest. It'd be a shame to see them completely close, but...what can you do? You can only support something mediocre for so long.

Re: Man Arrested for Blackmailing Nintendo with Stolen User Data

Objection

God, this reminds me of one of my favorite lines from the Dark Knight:
"Let me get this straight: You think that your client, one of the wealthiest, most powerful men in the world, is secretly a vigilante who spends his nights beating criminals to a pulp with his bare hands. And your plan is to blackmail this person? Good luck."

Re: 3DS Game Cases Look to be More Environmentally Friendly

Objection

I do agree that if Nintendo (and the other companies who do this, which is a lot now) are saving money and sacrificing container integrity to be "greener," the least they could do is pass the savings to the consumer. As it is, we're really only getting the cruddy end of the stick.
