Re: Nintendo NX Production Reportedly Pushed Back To 2017 To Incorporate Virtual Reality

NEW3DSXLISMINE

Someone above was actually naive enough to say VR is dead in the water. The VR that has sold out instantly as soon as pre-orders went up for Rift and PS VR. PS VR special editions were selling for $500. That's on top of needing a PS4 to use it. Still, sold out instantly.

The guy even compared VR to 3D TVs. First off, VR blows 3D out of the water. Second, 3D TVs were never in the water to begin with.

VR is the future

Re: Poll: Are You Confident About Nintendo's 3DS Focus for 2016?

The 3DS is just starting to pick up steam. Up until recently, there were zero retail first person shooters. We get Federation Force. There were no great retro compilations. We get Mega Man Legacy and SEGA 3D Classics. There weren't a lot of AAA pure action games. We get Hyrule Warriors and Kirby Robo.

On the other hand, bigger and better games are showing the lack of power in the original 3DS. They could do more with New 3DS exclusives, but they won't because the install base isn't big enough. Hopefully, the New 3DS has enough power to get some NX games released on it. If NX is some kind of futuristic device without buttons, I think I'd stay in the past.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3D Launches Exclusively On New Nintendo 3DS This April

As a battle-hardened warrior, I thirst for action. Which means I despise RPGs. Not RPG elements like upgrading & customization. Just the whole idea of focusing on strategy instead of action. So tell me, is the battle system in this game action-oriented? i.e., If I hit a bit will my weapon swing or shoot simultaneously and will I have to dodge enemy attacks on the fly?

Re: FAQ: Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo 3DS

Is anyone here going to have a New 3DS/New 3DS XL on the day it releases (the 11th, I believe)? I would like to know if you can switch the Near Field Communication on and off. And also how the New 3DS XL screen looks compared to the original 3DS XL screen in terms of clarity.

In reference to the post above me: Snake? Snake?? Snaaaaaaaaaaake!

WayForward is the most overrated company in the business. Here's the secret behind that: Any property that they own (Shantae, Mighty Switch Force) will be good. Any property they REALLY care about because it's a legendary property (Contra 4, Aliens: Infestation) will also be good. Any other property will either be decent but too short and easy (Thor, Batman the Brave and the Bold, pick one that most didn't like but you thought was decent) or just plain terrible (everything else they've made).

That being said, Magic Pockets did the first two TMNT games on 3DS, and while they were both good if not great, it's nice to see someone else give it a go. Though, Metroidvania isn't my thing. These boys were meant to brawl.

@StarDust4Ever, thanks for the warm welcome! Nothing wrong with a dude liking pink. I think I misspoke in my 1st post. Looks like the New 3DS XL doesn't have interchangeable covers. They probably gave that feature exclusively to the smaller New model because the XL versions are so much more popular. But I'm sure they'll come out with a pink New 3DS XL. After all, that is the most popular color among girls...and dudes who like pink. I'll stick with black myself

Re: Ultimate NES Remix Coming To 3DS This November

NEW3DSXLISMINE

I prefer to only buy games at retail and I love compilations. So consider this one an open-and-shut case for me. I hope it combines the best levels from NES Remix 1 & 2 on Wii U & not just take the 16 titles from Remix 1, since the Remix 1 titles were weaker overall in my opinion.

Re: Sorry, Contrary to Rumours the New Nintendo 3DS Will be Region Locked

The New 3DS XL is amazing! While region locking doesn't exactly make me happy, since I won't be able to import E.X. Troopers, it really doesn't bother me. There are MORE than enough reasons to upgrade from my current black 3DS XL to the New 3DS XL. Let me count the ways:

1. New 3DS XL looks cooler: multi-colored buttons and customizable covers.
2. Lighter than the original 3DS XL: original XL is a little too heavy.
3. Clearer screen: original 3DS XL screen was too blurry at times.
4. More powerful: faster load times & bigger, better games.
5. Longer battery life: 6.5 hours max life on original XL, 7 hours on New XL
6. More buttons: extra shoulder buttons = potentially better control schemes.
7. Extra analog stick: goodbye clunky and costly Circle Pad Pro.
8. Built-in NFC reader: transporting toys into games is cool to anyone.
9. Bigger 3D viewing angle - losing 3D effect for a second kills the immersion.
10.Cost - New 3DS XL retailing for only $180 in Japan.

The new 3DS XL has 10 HUGE improvements over the XL. And NO negatives. Even with the region locking, there's a chance E.X.. Troopers eventually comes to the States. It's a no-brainer for me. Did you upgrade from the original 3DS to the XL? I could only count 7 or so improvements from the original to the XL, and most of those were minor compared to the improvements the New 3DS XL makes. AND there were negatives with the XL compared to the original like the screen being blurrier and costing significantly more. There is NO reason if you made the upgrade from original to XL that you shouldn't upgrade from the XL to the new 3DS XL. And if you don't upgrade from the original 3DS to the New 3DS XL? You are INSANE!!! (and not in the cool extreme sports way)
