@rushiosan Agree, I can't imagine playing Kiwami without having played 0 first. I don't understand how the story had any impact without 0. 0 is a much better game, too.
@OstianOwl They're really good at leaving money on the table... you cannot convince me that a port of Madden wouldn't do well enough to make it worth doing, even if it's based on the PS4/Xbox One versions.
@speedyb Yeah, Retromags is the place for all of these magazines. Personally, old EGMs are a lot more interesting to read than Nintendo Power... lots more rumors of games that never came out or were never localized, more honest reviews (although they were heavily Sega-biased during the 16-bit era), and NP has too much strategy/maps stuff, which isn't that interesting to me. Still fun to look at, though!
I was just telling my wife last week about how I love looking at EGMs from around the turn of the century and how wacko the ads are, with a giant irreverent jokey picture taking up 3/4 of the spread and four tiny screenshots below. Sometimes you can't even tell what the game is unless you read the copyright info at the bottom. These are pretty much perfectly done.
@Matl I saw this comment elsewhere, can't remember where, but I agree... it's like every dev saw forum threads about "bring back Dead Space" three years ago, so now all we're seeing is people bringing back Dead Space.
@YoshiAngemon It's hilarious to me, my local (at the time) Target had the XC2 Special Edition in stock for like two years after it came out collecting dust, then suddenly everyone wanted it and it skyrocketed.
@Muddy_4_Ever I saw someone somewhere (can't remember where) say that this version basically replaces the Vita version (full game portable with save transferrable to console), which makes sense. I've been loving it over the last few days.
@Clyde_Radcliffe This is my main question about this game... is it under ten hours and incredibly easy like most Kirby games? If so, I don't believe it's worth full price. I'm not being stupid over here asking for a "hardcore Kirby experience," more power to everyone who loves these games, but it's not for me from a cost/benefit standpoint.
@larryisaman My issue is that, with the "I worked there" element removed, it's just two people who know about games, talking about games. I can get that anywhere.
@Lord I listened to the first couple of episodes.. they are trying to walk the line between having insider stories of working at Nintendo, not burning any bridges at Nintendo, and not tearing through too many Nintendo insider stories at once, and it's kind of awkward. I don't think anyone cares what they think about PlayStation games, but they don't seem to want to do a dedicated Nintendo podcast, either. It's a pleasant listen but they keep posting user polls asking what people want, and Nintendo content always wins in a total landslide.
@EmoGamer I got my online points over 5000 a while back, didn't play for six months or so, came back a few weeks ago and have trouble finishing above eighth. There have to be cheaters, I USED to be pretty good and now I'm awful.
@Nintendo4Sonic When the first trailer dropped, I was excited, but it was somewhat tempered by the fact that it was clearly Samus Returns Part II, which to me was a solid 8/10 game rather than "one of the greatest games ever." There's nothing WRONG with an 8/10, but it's a bit of a letdown for this series.
I remember this game because it's the game that Ryan Payton did after he worked on MGS4. Around the time I came back to gaming as a major hobby (I lapsed a bit during college in the early 2000s), Payton was like the patron saint of nerdboys online: a "normal nerd" who got to go work with the God Kojima. IIRC he was supposed to be the guy who helped bring a Western perspective to MGS4 in a time when "Japanese games suck" was the trendy opinion of the day. Quite a blast from the past here!
@FixMadden22 I loved the Wii U more than is probably reasonable, and still use it to this day, but the darkest single day of that entire era for a Nintendo fan had to have been the E3 Direct where Star Fox Zero got top billing.
All love to anyone/everyone who loved RF4, I put like 20 hours into it and got nothing out of it and wound up selling it. This unfortunately looks like one of those "we made a 3DS game and just blew it up to Switch" deals. I hope fans are happy, though!
@KateGray I only see clips on YouTube, but I hate it when it's a person who clearly knows exactly what they have and probably a good idea of what it's worth. That's not what the show is supposed to be about.
@narqendo The last time I remember seeing one in a store for sale was probably mid/late 2015. That's a long time ago now. Definitely never saw one in 2016. It never had a "clearance sale" period, much like the PS4 and Xbox One.
@AtlanteanMan Nintendo tends to get this kind of treatment from fans online. They have no games. If they have games, it's not enough games. If it's enough games, it's not enough that I'm interested in. If it's games I'm interested in, they're too expensive.

Re: No, Hollow Knight: Silksong Won't Be At Gamescom Opening Night Live
How could it possibly take this long to do a 2D indie Metroidvania? I am starting to doubt whether this game even exists.

You're a contractor and an easily replaceable position. You have to know better than to directly ask the company president a question like that.

@LXP8 I had that issue with the City theme, then it seemed like it fixed itself when I was playing over the weekend. Weird thing.

@samuelvictor Are you me? This is pretty much how I feel 100%. Completely disconnected from "modern" gaming and what "gamer" types care about.

@samuelvictor Thanks for the summary!
Re: Video: Here's 45 Minutes Of Sonic Origins Gameplay Footage
These have been re-released 8000 times already. Why does anyone care about this? Not to poo-poo it, it's cool if you're excited, but I don't get it.
