Be honest: You've only ever watched Antiques Roadshow for one of four reasons. One, you're at your nan's house. Two, you're home sick from school and there's nothing else on. Three, you really want to see someone find out that their stuff is worth eleventy billion money. Four, you really want to see someone find out that their priceless relic family heirloom is actually a toilet roll holder from 1982.
But whatever your reason, you can appreciate this charming parody of an advert for Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which features a very excitable Basculegion puppet absolutely wrecking things.
This is the second Pokémon Legends advert to feature a Pokémon puppet — the first one was a Munchlax puppet earlier this week — and they're both made by the same company, DirX Puppetry, which is based in Canada!
Which Pokémon do you think will get puppetified next? Let us know in the comments!

I saw it on YouTube, I love it.
Tho they get attacked by a puppet mon and not a Pokémon.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I unironically love when I can tell who wrote the article based on the subheader!
I had no clue there was an American Antiques Roadshow until now. It’s such a staple of British ‘oh f**k it’s Sunday and I have school tomorrow’ vibes.
Poor Basculegion is obviously very distressed knowing that its trainer died centuries ago.
That was a really clever commercial I think, very original.
I know I'm in the minority but I like Antiques Roadshow when I see it on TV. At the end of each episode, before the credits, they usually show all the people talk about how they thought they were sitting on a goldmine but it was actually a cheap replica. Best part hands down.
@nessisonett the US version is more about MASSIVE wins or MASSIVE losses, less in-between
@KateGray How very American. Doesn’t surprise me in the slightest.
Ok, I loved this
@KateGray @nessisonett
As much as it pains my American heart, if a TV show isn't talking about people making lots of money or losing lots of money, Americans don't seem to be interested in the slightest. There's a reason the show Shark Tank gets so many views, despite it basically being a 40 minute commercial for various businesses and products. We're obsessed.
So, when do we get a commercial starring a model/actress Lopunny?
Huh, could a Pokémon in theory live for centuries while it's inside a Poke Ball...?
@KateGray I only see clips on YouTube, but I hate it when it's a person who clearly knows exactly what they have and probably a good idea of what it's worth. That's not what the show is supposed to be about.
@Mr_Nutz Regardless of if the owner knows or suspects their item's actual value, it's educational to hear about the history related to the item. I think that should be the main takeaway for viewers, nevermind the item owners.
In addition, appraisals make it official what the value of an item is because appraisers are experts in their field, while owners are biased an usually uneducated. Appraisals usually cost a bit of money as well and you get a certificate of some kind stating the value. The value of an item also changes over time, depending on trends and demand.
For example, if you bought a diamond ring in 1980, the value changes over time, and after a decade or so, it's good to get it appraised. This is usually for insurance purposes, but also for resale or even just plain curiosity.
All that said, it is pretty funny when the appraiser is droning on and on about the history and the owner clearly just wants to hear the value. It's doubly funny when the appraiser talks for ages only to tell the owner they have a fake.
I saw the video on YT first, I think it's a cool, not too serious ad.
I don't know if anyone cares, but Build-A-Bear had recently updated the "Coming Soon" section, and Pokemon is one of those things. I have reason to believe that the next Pokemon plush might end up being Leafeon, considering the last one was Glaceon.
But that has nothing to do with this commercial, which was interesting.
I frigging love this video
I remember when Nintendo (& Sega) commercials were always like this, with very zany marketing and humor. Pretty much ended in the Wii era, what happened?
I miss when game commercials were funny and cheesy like this one is. I'm enjoying these Arceus ads, hopefully we'll keep seeing more!
@nessisonett @kategray It's also what gives our grandparents the "everything could be worth something someday so I have to collect and hang onto everything" mentality....well at least for my grandma anyway.
Better then the Munchlax one.
the game got legs.. glad they are pushing it with confident zany ads.
Oh... those parody pictures in Tumblr were of an actual programme...
Myself, the most I did was incidentally see an episode or two f Pawn Stars.
I really like how the Basculegion looked and interacted (especially a th end)... so does the comedic elements. However, even if I am almost definitely sure tha they were props, seeing that destruction of what were supposed to be antiques had that visceral fear and sadness in me.
Haha these ads are great.
