I honestly can't take the reviews of this site seriously anymore. Cheap mobile games like Pokémon Quest and that Chameleon Run Deluxe also get a 7 like this well done remake of a classic series. While games like Star Fox Zero and Mario Tennis Aces both got a 8.
I agree with BigKing and Xaessy, I never really liked the single player that much of Splatoon and Splatoon 2, while it is one of my most favourtie franchises. My main reason to get a Switch was Splatoon 2 in first place, it also is the game I play most of the time in general. I love the game but the singleplayer also felt meh, that is also why I aren't that hyped for the expansion and won't be getting it. I actually would have liked a cheap package where you only get the additional gear and the octoling characters for online without those 80 singeplayer levels.
@Menchi187 The only thing you said in previous comments is "Meaning 20 years from now when the PS4 and Xbox One servers are turned off you can still put those games in and play the entire base game. Unlike the Switch games I mentioned." "No, not like those at all. There are only 2 games that don't contain the entire base game on those consoles."
Nothing of this mentions the games with every content on disc which still require a connection to play it in the first place like let's say Overwatch, Black Ops IIII, Fortnite and a lot more.
@Menchi187 Funny how you ignore the comment about physical games that only have multiplayer modes like the newly announced Call of Duty Black Ops IIII.
@Menchi187 What about all those multiplayer only games that exist on every system and the games that are download only in the first place? I don't like that some Switch games require a mandatory download and I myself didn't buy any of those yet, but this problem obviously isn't only on Nintendo platforms.
@Dr_Corndog I was honestly agreeing with you until you were comparing it to the people who are against censorship, where you even only show one extreme of. In the first place does censorship not even have anything in common with being against a online service and it also is not like that censorship only happens in gaming.
On topic, I think that most people saw it coming that Nintendo eventually would also ask for money to play online like their competitors. I am happy that they don't go over the top with the service so that the price is rather affordable.
@Mr_Pepperami The Devil May Cry HD Collection was also released for the PC and XBOX One back then, not just the PS4. I got it on steam myself. So it has to be something else since it also listed those two platforms.
@Menchi187 You got a good point there about Capcom not bothering with the Xbox in Japan. Other Japanese companies like SEGA and Koei Tecmo also seem to release the Xbox One version only in the west for games as Valkyria Chronicles 4 and Attack on Titan 2.
@Menchi187 I can agree with it being a multiplatform. My remark mostly was about it being exclusive for PS4 in Japan (hence the partly in my first comment), which has until now been the biggest market for Monter Hunter games. So there is a possibility Sony made an exclusive deal for Japan.
@Menchi187 He was actually partly correct. Monster Hunter World is a PS4 exclusive in Japan, only the west got the Xbox One version and will later also get the PC version.
I myself am a big Kirby fan, but I honestly aren't that excited for this one. I really don't like the focus on local co-op. Like mentioned before it felt that the 3 AIs were basically playing the game for you. While the game is the most high definition Kirby yet the two demo levels felt really basic in style and paths. They did a lot more in previous games like Robobot and the Amazing Mirrors if we talk about level desing and ones like Epic Yarn for artstyle. In short I am dissapointed after the demo while I really wanted to like it.
I was honestly very dissapointed when I played this game. The ending felt like you did all for nothing and it not having a proper postcredit scene didn't help it. The pirate captain not even being a boss was also a really weird choice to me and there felt to be a bit too many of those stealth sequences.
@Damo I actually also have read more than a week ago that it will get ported to Switch and PS4 and that it "will have a new theme song, additional CG, new episodes, and more." So it is not really new news. It was from an article of 28-1-2018 at Gematsu. https://gematsu.com/2018/01/nekopara-coming-ps4-switch#3qi3O2KFLYuXSTZp.99
@Yasaal I think you are a bit generalizing if you say that "most people" sell their console once a new console gets launched. I assume that a lot of people who had a Wii U will keep theirs even when they get a Switch. The Wii U can play two whole game libraries, the Wii U and Wii, which the Switch can't. People who have a console like a PS4 or XBox One and get a Switch for Nintendo games will also most likely keep their PS4 or XBox One. I will also keep my Wii U hooked up when I get a Switch. I am mostly waiting for the Splatoon 2 bundle right now. XD
I can understand with the situation where people went from the Wii to the Wii U that they sold their Wii since the Wii U is backwards compatible.
I am more surprised about TVs with only one HDMI port. My TV is already 8 years old and it even has 3 HDMI-ports.
The trailer didn't get me hyped to be honest. I kind of like the dark theme with the giant Eggman robots but when the old Sonic returned it felt a bit forced. It was fun to have both Sonics in generations but it shouldn't be a returning feature in the franchise if you ask me. It feels a bit weird to see the new and old Sonic together.
I will certainly get Zero Time Dilemma, but I will get it on steam instead. I didn't expect it to be €39,99 as a eshop only title though. At steam it will be 39.99 USD which will be less than €39,99 if I remember the steam price convertion correctly and you will also get a digital artbook and a mini soundtrack with it.
@RandomBlue Still this game is also a spin-off so I don't understand why you compare this to the main series which it obviously isn't, since it is a collaboration between two series. But you are correct this discussion should be stopped since we already flooded the comment section too much. XD Also a good day to you.
@RandomBlue I am not really offended to be honest. I was just a bit bored and wanted a good discussion, but it seems like that you can't accept that the first few persona games have dark themes and are a part of the Shin Megami Tensei series and that some Shin Megami Tensei games are set in modern Tokyo with high school boys and girls. I just don't understand why you can't consider this a Shin Megami Tensei game while it has a lot of the elements of the series.
@RandomBlue I understand that you have a different opinion and I can accept it, but you could word it better than saying that it wasn't what you got promised while you only had different expectations.
@RandomBlue Since when is something getting promised personal opinion? I told you that the first trailer showed nothing other than old character art and announced a cross-over between Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem, does this promise anything other than there being a collaboration between the series? A promise is not something you make up in your own mind, you had different expectations which is correct but it wasn't promised to you. According to you a trailer showing old character art promises you to have a dark, apocalyptic and realistic game which is obviously not true... You only expected it to have them.
@RandomBlue '"Not the game we were promised, but its not a disaster like mighty number 9."
"but as a fan yes i am dissapointed as it did not deliver on what the 1st trailer was promising."
Both these statements are from your comments, you certainly said that they promised you something different........
Don't forget that your argument is that it bears no resemblance to Shin Megami Tensei while you say that is like Persona which is a spin-off of Shin Megami Tensei in the first place, just like this game being a spin-off...
@RandomBlue So why can't the spin-off collaboration of the series have a setting with modern day Japan with high school boys and girls like some previous Shin Megami Tensei series? My point still stands. You having different expectations is not the same as it being promised to you.
@RandomBlue Like I told before that not only the persona games have a modern day Japan setting with high school boys and girls, look at the Devil Survivor series.
@RandomBlue It certainly bears a resemblance to SMT. The gameplay, Shibuya being attacked by Mirages "demons", a shop with Jack Frost as their mascot with a clerk that is only seen by Mirage Masters "Demon tamers" ect.
@RandomBlue Doesn't it also make sense as this being a collaboration between two different series that it certainly won't be exactly like the main series. I doubt you can make a game that keeps every element of both series in the same game. For what most people seemed to want was probably some game with just a bunch of Fire Emblem characters who probably all lost their memories meeting up with a bunch of Shin Megami Tensei characters who also all lost their memories, like Project X Zone. I think that a game like that would even have a worse story than this. There also are Shin Megami Tensei games where a bunch of school boys and girls need to tame demons like the Devil Survivor series. But did you honestly expect a spin-off crossover with Fire Emblem having every element of Shin Megami Tensei? If it has every element of Shin Megami Tensei it wouldn't be a collaboration between two games would it?
@RandomBlue Persona is still a part of the Shin Megami Tensei series even if it is a spin-off series. You having different expectations is not the same as it being promised to you. They never told you they would keep it as "dark, realistic, and apocalyptic". I can't call the Shin Megami Tensei series much realistic in the first place, demons attacking Tokyo and stuff isn't exactly realistic is it? Still the game does have themes like Shibuya being partly in ruins, still not as apocalyptic as previous games in the series, by a force from a different dimension. Which seems typical Shin Megami Tensei to me.
@RandomBlue And this is Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, it has the gameplay elements of both games, it has references to both games ect. So what is your point about it being announced and now released?
@RandomBlue Still the first trailer didn't show any concept art or anything. It only showed old character art of the previous games. Character art of old games isn't exactly a concept of a game, it was more of an announcement that there would be a collaboration since it didn't show any footage of the game, so nothing was really promised back then.
@RandomBlue Were we even promised anything? The first trailer was basically just a slide-show with old character art that metioned that they were working on a collaboration project between Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem which we got. It certainly wasn't what most people were expecting but they never promised anything other than this. I am actually glad that it became like this. I prefer this over a 2d fighter or Project X zone, which most collaboration games seem to be. I am loving the gameplay of TMS and I am glad that it managed to secure a place in the top 20.
