Re: North American NES Ambassador Games Announced

Linkstrikesback

For people who don't want to look at nintendolifes 10 review pages seperately, these the scores:

Super mario Bros: 9/10
Legend of zelda 8/10
Wrecking crew : 8/10
Zelda 2: 7/10
NES open tournament golf : 7/10
Baloon fight 6/10
Metroid 6/10
Ice climbers 5/10
Yoshi 4/10
Donkey kong jr 4/10

Several absolute turds here then. It gets even worse when the Multiplayer modes in some of them which were highlighted as pluses won't work for now on the 3DS

Re: Review: Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii)

Linkstrikesback

@Gavin_Rozee
I hated Monster hunter tri. From my first 5 hours with Xenoblade, theres no comparision, in every way I can think of, Xenoblade is better than monster hunter tri.

Now for the MH fans to eat me alive...

Re: Wii Owners Encounter Xenoblade Disc Read Errors

Linkstrikesback

@6,7 and anyone else with problems with wiis reading dual layered discs.

Have you tried nintendos offical lens cleaner? It works miracles, and it costs £6 from amazon and was totally worth it in my opinion, since any time I've had trouble reading dual layered discs (only twice ever mind you), the cleaner fixed it immediately, and I had a year and half gap between needing to use it the first two times, and one year so far from the second time.

Re: Zelda Symphony Concert Hits London on 25th October

Linkstrikesback

One show. In october. On a tuesday. Yeah, well thats just not going to be possible for me, 3rd year of university and all that, I can't justify taking 2-3 days out for this.

Thats depressing, I was looking forwad to trying to get to one of them, but this is ridiculous. Even worse for the rest of europe who don't even get a show in their own country.

Re: Get Ready to Catch Pokémon Rumble Blast on your 3DS

Linkstrikesback

@warnerdan. I think the best option would be for pokemon firered/leafgreen rather than the originals, I don't think that I could stand the originals anymore, it'd be really hard to go without all the minor addons that pokemon has had since then that improved the games.

Then again, maybe thats just me.

Re: Sonic Generations Gets Online Play and StreetPass

Linkstrikesback

So the news is that sonic generations has a feature that the last two handheld sonic games had and streetpass. Big announcement that...

And no, there doesn't need to be more than one character. Get ready for this mind blowing solution? Ok. Both characters play as sonic!

Crazy, I know.

Re: Review: Naruto Shippuden 3D: The New Era (3DS)

Linkstrikesback

@Mariofanatic128 The english dubbed episodes are already far past the point where you find out that Garra is a kage o_0. The dvds are up to episode 65 of shippuden in the uk and slightly further for the US. Since you find it out in the first 10 episodes of shippuden...yeah

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX (Game Boy Color)

Linkstrikesback

I agree wholeheartedly with that 10/10. This game is what zelda is really about.
The game story and pace flows far better than any other zelda, especially over LTTP. The beatuiful spritework should put whoever the art designer for the DS zelda games to shame. The music is some of the best of its style, and its crazy to think some of this music was coming out of a game boy! I just had to stop and listen for ages when I heard tal tal heights again properly for the first time in so many years.

I really hope they go back and make a proper 2d zelda, since we haven't had one since minish cap, which was in 2004/5! (And links awakening was the last proper 2d zelda nintendo actually made! Capcom handled everything after this, with the exception of 4 swords adventures)

I can honestly say nintendo may have made a mistake releasing the game this early on the VC.

When you start with probably the best game on the GB/GBC/GBA line, where do you go from there?

Re: Regional eShops Will Continue to Offer Different Content

Linkstrikesback

Content targetted at the region?
Well I'm glad to see nintendo europe thinks the content we want is delayed releases (ok LoZ:LA only got delayed by a day for us compared to america, but thats still a really terrible start to get off to), higher prices and no e3 content until weeks after the events gone.

I'm honestly one more nintendo screw up away from never bothering buying anything from the download store again.

Re: 3DS eShop Has Officially Opened Its Doors

Linkstrikesback

Also @20
All the dsiware games except those 11 mentioned by nintendo are there, but for obvious reasons the dsiware HIGHLIGHTS isn't going to include all of them, which is what you're looking at. Hit the search function and set the filter to "dsiware" and you'll see them all.

Re: eShop Games Start from $1.99 and Other Interesting Information

Linkstrikesback

$1.99? Ok thats pretty low. I think I can live with that, though 0.99 would have been preferred. Any news on these values in other currencies? (I.e., british pounds )

Also, varied prices for GB games based on quality is brilliant news. Glad nintendos realized that a one price for all model doesn't really fit, hopefully these carry over to all vc games on the service.

Uhhh... @4 Playcoins are not the same thing as the 3DS ewallet o_0

Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Have Made the 3DS Download-only?

Linkstrikesback

The consumer loses out heavily in download only services, in my opinion.

Without retail, theres no price wars leading to lower prices, theres no preorder bonuses giving out cool extras, theres no need to drop prices because nintendo would be the only people able to decide what anything is worth (and nintendo is a real hardass on price dropping stuff, last thing we need is them deciding it for every game on the console, its bad enough that Mario kart DS is still nearly full RRP, we don't need everything like that), for a start.

Re: Sonic Generations 3DS Mixes 16-bit and Rush Gameplay

Linkstrikesback

Ok. I'm back in the "No sale" block then. I'm honestly fed up of Rush Style gameplay, Sonic colours DS was a struggle to get through the sheer boredom of trying to play it.

I liked sonic rush, but Rush adventures level design was meh. Sonic colours DS level design was just laughably bad.

Re: Wii Shop Channel Now Accepting eShop Cards

Linkstrikesback

@James2t3
It's actually 1000= £7.00 on the wii if you buy them through the channel.
However, on DSiware, its 1000= £9.00.
And since they shared cards, that meant store cards bough tfor using on the wii were riduculously inflated. At least, switching to a proper price value could stop price gouging.

Re: Review: LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean (3DS)

Linkstrikesback

@ThomasBW84
I hope you didn't just say "For a portable version, it's not bad".
It's not the 90's anymore, portable games are completely capable of being almost exact replicas of home console titles, and there is not a single good reason for them to ever cut some content out of a handheld release. And it shouldn't be accepted simply because its a handheld game.

I know I wouldn't have accepted it if capcom removed 1/5 of the characters from super street fighter 3d because "it's a handheld". I'm certainly not accepting it from anyone else.

Re: Sonic Generations 3DS Rumours Gain Speed

Linkstrikesback

@75 and the original suffers horribly from not having the spin dash.

@68

Woo, the first level of sonic colours has few enemies and lets you run fast. Big surprise there. They did the same in the megadrive games too.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-h-bSkQyCMo

Go on, tell me that ones a "on rails shooter". Just be ready to be laughed out of the internet. And, for the record, most of the levels are like the one I posted, not the one you posted.
