Wii owners aren't tremendously well catered-for this week but 3DS owners get to play a new 3D Classic, so as usual it's easy come, easy go here at the Nintendo Download. Let's see what lucky Europeans will get to pick up on Thursday.
3DS eShop
3D Classics: TwinBee (Nintendo, €5/£4.50) — The 3D Classics range continues to mine the distant past of gaming, now resurrecting 1985 coin-op TwinBee for the three-dimensonal treatment. We'll see how well it fares in our upcoming review.
DSiWare
Cut the Rope (Chillingo, 500pts) — Chillingo's thread-snipping puzzle game Cut the Rope finally makes it across to Nintendo DSi. For the unaware, the aim of the game is to feed candy to a tiny alien. If that sounds like the kind of game you could get along with, look for our upcoming review.
Anonymous Notes Chapter 2 — From the Abyss (Sonic Powered Co., 200pts) — The second part of the mini-RPG, this one carries over your character and equipment from the first instalment, so if you clocked that quickly you might be interested here. Read our Anonymous Notes Chapter 2 — From the Abyss review for more.
WiiWare
101-in-1 Explosive Megamix (Nordcurrent, 700pts) — it's 101 minigames in one from compilation kings Nordcurrent. Air hockey, boxes, sudoku and more all feature, but has it got the quality to match the quantity? Look to our upcoming review for the answer.
Anything for you this week?

Wow TwinBee 3D AND Cut the Rope! I hope these two hit in North America. I still play Cut the Rope on the iPhone all the time.
TWIN-BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! My credit card is ready for this! Also Cut the Rope looks like a fun little game, but I think I'll wait for a review on this one. Now I only need Metroid II to show up on 3DS VC and I can die happy...
I've been waiting for Twinbee for a while.
Already got some money sitting in my eShop account just waiting to buy it.
I am very excited for TwinBee. I really hope that it shows up in our eShop update this week. Never played Cut the Rope before but it does sound interesting so I might give that one a try.
Been looking at from the abyss rpg might look into geting it
Nothing this week. The trailer of TwinBee didn't spike my interest and I have no interest in the minigame mix. Cut the Rope might be interesting and I think it controls better then the Wii version.
Wow, over 100 mind-blowing games for all tastes in one download. And they're explosive too. Impressive!
Since when is Cut the Rope available on Wii? Did I miss something?
Surprised about Twinbee - from what I read, it's similar to Xevious. You'd think they'd try to get a bit of variety - this is something like the fourth 3D classics game and already two of them are very similar.
@ Corbs
I do think I read a story on here recently about a rope game on Wiiware being out in America. I think it's actually called burn the rope. Is Cut the Rope a sequel or something?
What's next? Tie the rope in a Knot?
Aw, me want TwinBee
Twinbee borrows a lot from Xevious, yes, but it adds a bunch of new stuff, and is a far more entertaining game as a result.
The 3D Classics style suits this type of multi-layer shmup very well, which is probably why we got two of them. They have to choose games that work in 3D. (speaking of which, a 3D Classics Bump'n Jump would've been awesome.
this was a ddr song
I LOVE TWINBEE
TwinBee in 3D? OUCH!
I like TwinBee, but it's hard enough in 2D. I can only imagine those little tiny bullets becoming even harder to see in 3D.
And the power-up system is even more unforgiving than Gradius, so one hit is practically game-over.
I've been interested in 101 on the DS. Looking forward to Wii review.
I might get 3D classics Twinbee but I'll wait for a review first.
@Link79
No, Burn the Rope for WiiWare and Cut the Rope for DSiWare are not part of the same series. Just two games dealing with rope.
Guess I will have to put in $10 into my eshop and get Twinbee and Cut The Rope.
W/ all these rope games, I wonder if any dev will eventually make a game about bungee cords.
Anyway, nothing for me from this week's list. I'm gonna check out the review here for that 500pt paint game/thing. On the other hand, if I don't think the game will be my cup o' tea, I'll save my 800pts for MMX2. For now, anyway...
Edit: Bungee cords on the DSi/3DS touch-screen sounds potential-filled.
I'm waiting for the sequel TwinWasp
NA will probably see Twinbee this week. I'm not a big fan of the first game though so I'll probably pass on this one.
I think TwinHornet sounds more . I will most likely pick up TwinBee and Cut The Rope
Might get TwinBee and Cut the Rope. But since i'm in no rush to get them i'll wait for reviews.
@KingMike I think they will be even easier to see in 3D. That's the whole point.
Cut the Rope and that wiiware game as a timepass?
@JayceJa 2nd
Am I the only one here who has never played Twin-Bee and would never even know about it. (Save Castlevania DS references)
No Wii-VC this is getting terrible! I just hope Nintendo some how contiune the VC trend on Wii-U......
Don't need 101 games.
Need only one: Snowpack Park.
can someone tell me if cut the rope is worth $7.50 (that's the australian price)
