@SuntannedDuck2 Alrite. I apologise if I was a bit heavy last comment, but I'm unsure why you started your reply to me in that way. You seemed to have made your mind up about the game in those first 2 lines.
Anyways , I appreciate you clarifying. I don't often mind ppl going off on a slight tangent about other games so yea , my bad I should have been a bit patient with your comment.
I understand you wanting a more "gamey" style to things , the aspect of actually completing events in games over filler.
Thing is , I am now about 25% into Prime 4 , past the 2nd Boss thorny big plant thing and looking back at some of the initial reactions yesterday to the desert from ppl who certain had not touched the game yet , even I had doubts creeping in that maybe the older gameplay of Metroid was diluted a bit.
Nope , not at all really! It more or less has been 90% 'Prime-ish' up till the point I am on and I have more or less enjoyed nearly every minute of it.
The main feel I get is Refreshing. I love the presentation of the new ancient race. They really are mysterious, not forced upon you like maybe Dreads crazy Robots chasing you down every 2D corridor. Nor are they short changing you by barely letting you see them like the awful Halo Infinite.
Sure , the voice acting and some characters are cheesy , but I actually like the way that "nurdy" scientist everyone is up in arms about is presented.
I'm sure the game will slow down in the more Desert hub focused areas and that might be but of a bummer but so far , this is easily rivalling my current favourite Metroid game , Corruption. And dare I say , some areas are far more interesting and I interactive than in Prime 1!
I'll clock in more on some thought later maybe , but for ppl who like the very hard boiled gaming experiences of the past , I feel games are actually slowing down on Open Worlds as Prime 4 Itself is not a true Open world
I'm barely 25% into my own casual run lol [spoilers]just got past the plant Boss Carvex[/spoilers] - and barely ever 100% complete games - so naturally I had to visit here.
And Samus? Well she looks beautiful, much like the rest of the game overall! And I'm unsure just what was going on with her face in the Prime 1 re Master (weirdly horse faced) , so was a bit worried they would mess her up here too but - anxiety dismissed! ππ
She is sporting a more 'mature' face than her younger or 'girlier' looks in Other M and Corruption.
Prime 4 carries the flame π₯ held high and I am so happy to see it!
@SuntannedDuck2 ? Did I ask you to accept *all major changes in gaming? Do you actually read before you type stuff out and so expect me to read your 2 essays? If you're just going to call people "dumb" as a response to being caught out and then put words in ppls keyboards, have an Ignore because you are not worth debating - you are just baiting π€·ββοΈπ
What about the flip side of that idiotic 1st line you just put out? You're basically a bot mode shill who will happily accept the same old stale gameplay for a 30+ year period and are obtuse to accepting anything different. And yes , it is stale. It maybe Niche but they haven't sold well at all , doing the same thing for 30 years clearly has not fixed the series - in Fact the whole thing came to the brink of collapse only 5 years back!!
As for the rest of your comment; it's a hodgepodge mess of stating the obvious in you having opinions , general rambling and then odd and jarring grandstanding acting out being this ultra Nitpicky gamer who believes nitpicks = gaming Standards.
Anyways, I got a AAA game to enjoy in Prime 4 for reasons only sensible fans will understand. If you want a rough translation into a game of the blog you are on: that's Prime 4 that dares to take risks but also is beautiful in its presentation and marrying Old Vs New gameplay styles.
I'm almost non stop taking screens of the game; and don't think for one sec it is not Metroidvania - Prime 4 is clearly a Metroid game lol , and a Prime game at that!
From the opening Skirmish; it's wonderful fan Service , a nod towards Primes 1 and 3 and then some. The new ancient race is intriguing and interesting. Overall I'm about a quarter way in and this has already blown Prime 2 out the Torvus bog water for me!
Sure it's not Perfect - the "nurd" (spoilers for what they are worth to you here: Myles) that supposed adults on here are crying and throwing their toys about to no ends about; he is actually annoying and Disney like but if ppl on comment boards would comment after actually playing 5 or so hours of the game - they would see the directors clearly has Samus acknowledge the 'character' along with the overall terribly annoyed audience in her slapstick deadpan stare.
So whatever - enjoy what you want but don't think you can turn and apply your emotions into being a blueprint for a broad standard for a famous (but financially struggling) gaming series.
Especially when you have not even played an hour of the game; it's you doing your intelligence 0 favours.
It just saddens me some groups on the Net have to push such negative agendas about. Granted, no one wants to pay through the nose but where there is supply and Marked up Pricing , it has to stem from some genuine demand
@OldGamer999 Hmm Ok , then sorry maybe it is me who is over reacting! π€·ββοΈπ
I mean , I'll be honest I'm so tired of people (not exactly you) pushing negativity on these new iterations of Classic IPs.
Yes they are "Opinions" but jeez, they all say the same old things! "I h8 Open Worlds they are empty and bland" , "Metroid has lost its identity" bla bla black sheep π
I digress. Yes there is Nostalgia and the Prime games are classics - but I don't think ones like Prime 2 are that good! Very repetitive, same old enemy rinsed over and over. The Dark theme is cool but the monotone and drabness just becomes jarring. Spoilers ahead
[spoilers]From what I have played (just about a third way on a casual run) I think Prime 4 offers a much needed refresher to the series. It's varied , beautiful looking and that does matter because it really helps with immersion. The initial skirmish on the Federation Research station sets a frantic tone that reminds me fondly of Primes 1 and 3 (arguably better than 3 as it's more Coherent in its presentation) and then you are ushered into the Open desert area and Viewros. I really like how she has to tap into the ancient race's Psy powers (the Lamorn) , it's intriguing and Lumioth like which I miss from Dread which just had you madly running from mad Robots in 2D and very little Chozo interaction. I love the Bike , it just adds something cool and different and imo it does work and suit Samus very well. She cannot be rolling about like a crazed ball bearing forever![/spoilers]
Anyways , phew! π Sorry about the little ramble π
Overall , I'm happy. But yes a little disappointed, I wanted more Space Pirates! π I think the series needed the changes , I wouldn't want a "Prime 1 reskin in 4K" all over again. And definitely not a Prime 2 with the same enemies over and over and just a dark retread of Prime 1. But it is a big formula change , and more staunch fans or nostalgic ones it will very likely be a shock to the system.
For sure , it's not Perfect by no means; the AI isn't Great , the Desert is quite Empty (still yes it is a desert but can have more interactive secrets)
And the cutscenes and some Character designs - yea you might find them very annoying and actually Disney like which is very disappointing. It has it's moments but it certainly is no Dark themed game , some might not like the "opening up"
But I mainly play for the settings , the Bosses (I love the subtle call backs to previous games in their strong Designs and there's 2 or 3 all new concepts too!) and I actually like the Bike exploration and World design, a risk that mostly has paid off but still , flawed.
I would put this above Prime 2 and Dread (for gameplay as Dread was just tons of Robots) , but below Prime 1 and on par with Corruption. I rate it a solid 8/10
@SuntannedDuck2 "Just atmosphere and enemies or skill trees does not excite me in the slightest way"
Same old boring "critique" every time. "Oh this n that is empty" , "I don't care about [insert nitpick of choice eg NPCs and voice acting]" , "Oh this n that is boring cos I sed so bla bla"
So I ask why are you even still in the gaming industry, why haven't you found another hobby if you don't care about atmosphere in 2025?!
I really am not sure what you were hoping for. You simply will not get oldskool corridor games , linear as a cable car run anymore. It's just not what happens these days because how many times can you rerun the same old worn path? You are asking for repetition and limited , boring gameplay from Prime 2 say? Where you had one or 2 cool scenes then you just had to fight 1000 Ing and the same old boring Guardians every time save for the osd Classic boss?? I'll tell you right now that near 1/3 of the way through, Prime 4 is a more refreshing, varied and just better experience.
Yes , it can be slower paced than even no2 but it takes far more risks to incorporate a varied World. The Premise of the native ancient race you try and explore is fascinating, much better than a bunch of Dark bandits in a bleak depressing monotone World of shadows where you fight the same enemy 90% of the time π€·ββοΈ
The Bike is cool , We "don't care" if you want to be some sort if outsider contrarians and call it 'not Metroid' or something weird
@Thirteen1355 Ok , nice! That convo went much better. Yes , I tend to want to be right or correct as I (relevant?) have a Bachelor of Engineering myself , so being accurate and objective about most stuff sort of helped. But maybe it's can be a character flaw of mine in social exchanges , who knows ?
Anyways , for what it's worth I'll set the silliness aside π€·ββοΈ
As you have divulged a bit more of your Metroid experience to others , I am always interested to see how others view the series.
Being frank , I'm also very pro 'Modern gaming' , so yes I clearly do embrace the more Modern gaming designs and crafts. So games like Tears , this one (maybe?) while horrifying others , are almost manna from the heavens for me.
Why can't expansive areas work in this series? I feel , while of course not Perfect the genres this game handles have been blended beautifully.
It's refreshing, quite a bit different. Do I agree with the "lost identity" comments? Never. Viewros is splendid.
Spoilers!!?
The skirmish early on upon the Research station starts things off at a Pace that reminded me of Primes 1 and 3 right away. But now the scale is grander , you are so much more immersed in the proceedings.
The game from my early view manages to blend the indoor and outdoor areas so beautifully. I like that Samus has to tap into the powers of an Ancient race , the Lamorn. It's all presented very filmic , which I find engrossing. The mysterious race aren't all over the place (the game is not artificially dense) and you really do want to uncover more of the Mystery through exploring rather than knowing you need to face 100 corridors.
Of course, it's not Perfect , the AI does need work. That's the worst flaw for me so far on my run. And yes the Hub area could have a few more secrets , maybe
Really , I've done Primes 1 to 3 and got the T shirt. So I'm welcoming the genuine marriage of old and New here
@Thirteen1355 "Games I likely prefer to this new game I haven't even played: probably hundreds. Thief 2? Am I brave now?"
Well , it's a start π
But still sounds ridiculous. How about a wild idea from me? Try and play Prime 4 at least a little (10 minutes as opposed to 0 you have right now) , before maybe passing judgement like "Metroid is disgusting" , "worse than 1000 other games I played" , "bad bad etc"
Oh and please stop assuming people you have not met properly haven't played it. You need to be sure of your station in a debate 1st ππ€·ββοΈ
I will give you some credit though , I haven't laughed this hard at a comment for a while.
"This game I never played is worse than 1000 games I have played"
@jfp Ikr lol ππ What's with some of these ppl?
And they have no coherence - Wind Wakers Great sea was apparently not empty when even if you tried to sequence Break early you were not rewarded because the game was inherently Linear by design so any faraway points you reached were walled or Locked off.
But here We are in 2025 , with some ppl believing they are smart in criticising a Desert area as "empty" (an empty and basic , even ignorant statement in itself) and just lampooning that even as a vehicle to "critique" Open Worlds in general π€·ββοΈπ
@Thirteen1355 Yet , here you are. Typing your usual nonsense all the same.
If your games are so great (read you like a book in my last comment btw , you're too predictable lol!) again , why are you here?
I guess Prime 4 "baited" you in? Maybe you came here to have a chuckle at the Prime 4 fans , because that's what gamers who have such a great gaming Library normally do right?? π
@Thirteen1355 I mean , it's you again from YT lol.
If every bone of you is so against "games like these" Mr Imma Supremist gamer in my own Mind (tm) , why are you even on here??
Is it the attention you so desire? Forget Prime 4 , people like you should not be anywhere near modern Gaming. Stick to 0ctopath and your PS2 games π€·ββοΈ
@Mommar I didn't make an analogy. That's what a person who doesn't have a Good argument on the point does , like some of you here. And "bad this , bad that" - what's the matter with you lol? You haven't touched this game yet , so your experience is as premature as your arguments and throwing the word "bad" around. Are you honestly this simple?! So don't even go there; you know little to nothing about Prime 4. You simply came on here to join a h8 wagon Vs Open Worlds. I'm unsure why you ppl need to dress up as these self entitled , cynical know it alls , you call this "critique"?? News for you: it's not - it's just extreme naivety
@Lizuka Give me a break lol. What a horrible attempt at an analogy! Actually , yes you do - are McDonalds customers all Chefs now?! No. So why are they so Successful? Because those ppl aren't chefs, they have 0.0025 rating in Palate
@Yoshi3 Lol , fella that meant nothing. Open World is a gaming mechanic.
It's just that Metroid has not had it. It has stifled the series sales , leading to ambitious 3D projects almost being scrapped after 12 years of fans waiting.
And you're labeling me a the 'baiter'
Heh , fella I am a Debater. And your namecalling has already lost you this one π€·ββοΈ
You brought nothing to the table besides "I h8 Open World pls listen to me , I'm a Successful gaming Dev in front of a keyboard" vibes
@Yoshi3 @Yoshi3 @PeterTomlan86 They have been actually. Basically an elaboration of your point.
I mean look We are all mature here; by all means have your opinion but why are you drumming up this war and crusade of forced belief that Open Worlds are an anti gaming or even Metroid idea?
That is irony. You yourself are being anti innovation, what are you afraid of because 1) by all means you are in the wrong anyway - Retro have decided to choose against you. And 2) honestly have an Opinion but to Grandstand like this over a false belief over Open world - I'm sorry to say it's people like you who enforce division in the fanbase.
At even the most basic level of sense - don't you want any variety in this iconic gaming series??
Jeez fella; if you were a famous gaming designer too - maybe actual serious fans would listen to you not just a gang of a 100 or so on the internet π€·ββοΈ
You have an opinion , but please We don't want war. We want to enjoy the great game that is Prime 4
@Yoshi3 I'm sorry but I really really cannot stand takes like these. Have you played the game?
"Big huge Open Worlds ,, doesn't suit a Space game??
People really do need to stop dropping their nostalgia bombs all over the place because they have this narrowed down letterbox view of what Metroid 'should be'.
Well , you have had 'your way' for over 30 years - and has it been popular? Believe it or not , some Metroid fans don't want the series to remain stuck to it's claustrophobic, limited cookie cutter roots. This is why We have had to wait * over 15 years.
When Nintendo does take a risk , the 3 old hat lines are always drawn out by h8ers who have really 0 argument , "Open Wurlds r bad (cos I sed so!1)" , "Metroids lost its identity (also cos I sed so.") And then when a sensible argument comes around that favours the 'new style' and Open World integration , there's always the "stopp being such a $hill" line.
The game from the Tubers I have had watch who played it looks so organic , fluid and lush. Old style skirmishes are blended beautifully with the refreshing Open expanses.
Honestly , this blows Prime 2 and 3 and Dread out the water. 2 had neat ideas but basically , you Vs the Ing in a corridor 100 times. Meh. A few Good boss fights. Prime 1 has nostalgia and that "Ocarina effect" for the Metroid series with all the Legacy bosses , so that experience is hard to beat granted.
But 3 while I like it , it's just essentially a Boss rush but still a very Good game I prefer it to 2.
Dread , I mean look what that game * could have been going by just the 3D movie sections. But nope , they stuck all the boring side to side antics, corridors and a broken Parry move in there to make Samus as broken and OP as ever.
Beyond is Metroid growing up. Immersion , dropping the done to death Vania (literally with sales so poor the series was about to die!) gameplay for a far more Open and refreshing mix with new Surprises and genuine sense Combat gameplay at Skirmish points proper Metroid fans know and love.
Of course it will have flaws and "no game is Perfect (outside the nostalgia bubble)" yadda yadda. But yes while maybe not some scorching 95 rated behemoth , it's certainly way above your usual 8 or 7 out of ten experience.
This is Space and Metroid being bold and different and I love the bravery (and lack of a 1000 dark corridors back to back for once ever) , I love it!
Indeed π―π I'm too stoked for this! This of course is all on top of the standard fare Metroid base crawler and light Puzzles gameplay the Metroidvania we all know and love. The series did need modernization after being away for so long and Beyond seems to be doing the job almost Perfectly
There you go, thank you! Driving through Cyberpunks vast straights was amazing. It just makes you appreciate the World so much more and knowing you're free to get out and explore anytime.
Much better imo than Metroidvania forcing you through it's last bit of toothpaste in the tube routine of backtracking for the 1000th time ππ
I mean honestly fella, since a whole Generation and then some has passed since the last actual Prime game; I have really woken up to what Our "dear" Metroid community is.
A "fanbase" who barely could be driven enough to allow Pikmin , Pikmin!! to catch up and outsell the Prime series.
I mean, I'm almost glad those toxic! ppl who have had their fill for so long with the same Vania style are "giving up", Good! Let a new fanbase who actually value and Care for this series spreading its wings into the big Time of 10 million plus sellers take over and maybe just mayyyybeeee We won't have to wait 15 years between big Mainline 3D Metroid games.
I was brought up on Metroid since the SNES days but the one thing I severely disliked was the backtracking. I mean , some is fine and the Prime games made it much more tolerable with their fancy newfound visual muscle they leant to this series. But still , *the backtracking was extreme and Change was sorely needed. I have 0 regrets; an Open World makes me respect the series more, it's a Space game have We forgotten ppl??
And , Beyond has already much endeared me with it's charming naming of the new race, the Lamorn and the name Viewros. I like the Purply hue and theming of the Psychic powers, its intriguing and mysterious.
This may seem wild but Prime 1 in particular the Chozo ruins area bored me stuff - and I got tired of rinsing and backtracking through the same closed areas again and again (thankfully the awesome Bosses saved the game for me.)
I loved Prime 2 and 3 far more as their locations were at least heavily themed and set a real mood and of they had fantastic enemies and Lore.
From what little I (We?) have seen of Beyond; it instantly makes me feel at Home with an already cool looking Boss shown off (not that I want anymore spoilers lol) and tight, action focused Base skirmishes with a much "grander" feel over the previous games.
And the Bike? The Bike!!!!!! It dumps 100 shades on Breaths limp Motorcycle Zero , which just seemed like such an odd misfit to me.
I just laugh at "opinions" such as "why does She need a bike when she can Morph all?" Hahaha, are those ppl insane?! It's not the 90s anymore, the areas have gotten a * little larger ππ
And you'll obviously get the token "I h8 open Wurlds" drones who have 0 argument other than to blindly describe anything Open as "empty" - what on Earth have they watched for the past Beyond trailers did they wear Syluxs mask too tightly?!!
Anyways, I did rant so sorry for the long one and got a bit emotional but I will say at least their also seems to be a few sensible people in the comments that actually remember that Beyond also demonstrated is is totally comfortable doing Metroidvania style gameplay too with that base action sequence. So, this gives Us the best of both; why would a desert need to be packed with content anyway, ? Don't these ppl ever get bored of their own whiny and moany voices in their heads? π
I'm actually tired and disgusted about the Online "gaming community" and the boring anti Open World opinions and agendas. We got Open World Metroid and a Samus Cycle Zero that actually fits her image and the game over a random misfit Mad max styled piece of junk dropped on Links head in Breath of the Wild. It's 100x better - and ppl react like this???!! Just because they see a desert , oh sorry when Was a desert biome meant to be this feature Overfilled playground of Metroidvania gameplay?! Even the Choco ruins were barebones, all the gameplay being limited to the Caverns.
Sick of these "Redd!t0r gangs" online, with their negative and obtuse takes influencing sheeple who know no better.
It's Metroid: We are getting top Bosses.
We have clearly seen this game seamlessly provides Us with classic Metroidvania dungeon crawling / light Puzzle based gameplay when the areas close up and structures and Bases are involved, like right at this games very reveal!!
Honestly, these "gamers" need to lighten up, or find a new hobby because their narrative is tired and crusty. I've been a Metroid fan since the 90s and frankly I would be lying if I welcomed Prime 4 to be "just another Metroidvania but in silky 4K".
No, I want more - I want this series to go Beyond those closed and limited confines because it *can.
It has the lore, I love the new Planets name and the design of the new race the Lamorn.
I mean, yes the Desert does seem "a bit empty" - a shock gasp , imagine that sensible ppl , *a desert is a bit empty !! Shock horror!! ππ
Honestly, I'll just shut out those toxic ppl and fully enjoy this game for the almost certain Masterpiece of genre blending that it has already has clearly demonstrated it will be!
@intergalacticNikolai I also - but We have to be realisitc. If they're not Hall Effect units, which I am 99. (99 9s)% sure they aren't on the 1st wave SKUs at the very least - they're gonna drift.
And knowing Nintendo's hardware these days, they're not going be much better than the current ones.
It will be a case of ''the Switch 2 is 5x better and powerful than the original - if only this was also the case with the Joy Cons''
Hmm, interesting this board is still open and returning to this just after the Switch 'Successor' was Officially announced by Mr Furukawa.
And , looking back on this almost 5 years later(!) - thank Goodness it was! I mean, I'm so glad these more modern Open-world games are actually making it onto Our dear old system. But, while I know most ''Nintendo fans don't care about graffix'' , for games like these they do matter especially as this is now *decade old software and yea, any true fan of Nintendo realises it's not in the Best interests of Nintendo to always have the version of games with the most cuts and looking like Vaseline was smeared all over the screen.
With respect to the developers: that was certainly not how they intended it(!)
So, with reliable sources all pointing to the Switch 'Successor' having considerably more power than Switch 1 , here's to a future Dragon's Dogma 2 port looking much more sharper and cleaner so that We as gamers can engage in it's beautiful and immersive World properly (and not having massive Castle towers and rocks etc pop in suddenly from 4 meters away while we're running about) and just get on with taking down those big fat trolls!
Yeah,, I mean as if Hogwarts Legacy wasn't reason enough, I think We all know (at least the sensible ones among Us that want Nintendo to do even better) that yea We need the Switch '2' sooner rather than later please Mr Bowser.
That said, I like this game a lot, it obviously gives me Pikmin 4 vibes.
Ok, I am going to be brutally honest here, not counting re-Makes for once: I can barely name 5.
Even counting re-Makes: Dark Moon HD for likely $60 is really pushing even my limits and I loved Dark Moon and am thrilled they've re-done it(!)
Come on Nintendo, please. I know 2023 was a bit of a bumper year - but really TOtK should have been a 2022 release , so it's was really only Pikmin 4, the big DLCs, a 2D Mario (instead of the 2nd big 3D one rumored - or simply that Wonder was not in full 3D, just imagine if it was, I'd have given Nintendo a free pass this Year lol!) - and of course the re-Makes.
And even though I don't want to, I know this will sadly hurt many ppl's feelings but Princess Peach is not 'that game' guys. Lets not pretend the 1st Lady suddenly went all Yoshi's world and got her own 3D adventure, her own 'Mario 64'. Most of it looks like yet another 2.5D side-scroller and I'm tired of this laziness by Nintendo now.
It's not going to melt your console Nintendo to make her adventure in full 3D with a nice full world and Adventure mode to go with it. Jeeeez! What ever happened to bona-Fide titles like Starlink and Astral Chain??
The Switch rather could be called the 2017 Game Boy at this rate!
gta6 comes out in 2025 , and already there are 3 massive AAA blockbuster games lined up for the PC (3 big PC original IPs) in Dragon's Dogma 2 (curiously, the Original game was also ported to the Switch!) , Star Wars Outlaws and Stalkker 2.
So yea, as if there's not enough Competition this year(!)
Nintendo are in a much better position now than 6 years ago when they were desperate and even on the brink of collapse as a gaming Phenomena stagnating for over 5 years while rival Consoles were steaming ahead with the HD revolution. How the tables have turned with the Fantastic , Iconic thing that is the Switch '1': even more revolutionary than their Original Game Boy!
However, even though they're (deservedly) swimming in the Banknotes: We all know Nintendo's worst enemy is themselves - and a good dose of Complacency.
And I hate to say this, but some of our fellow Nintendo 'fans' need to take a good look at themselves - the one's that say ''I don't need an upgrade, I'm happy with the Switch as it is.'' Not a great attitude at all, very selfish if I may add as all they're doing is pandering to their tunneled interests and totally ignoring Nintendo is still a Business - now a Big HD Business: not their cuddly, Yoshi--shaped play putty to mold in their fingers anymore.
At the very least, We've edged 1 more year closer to a Switch successor, but the signs and rumblings all point to a System that will see Nintendo forcing in one of it's trademark innovations (I'm going by some sort of 3D(S) iteration. Others are just as valid in saying it will involve an integrated Camera.
But the loudest elephant in the 2024 room (so far) is the silence.
Software wise - after the Tear's honeymoon ended last Year Nintendo have left themselves a bit, (oh, yes there was Pikmin 4!) , how should I say, unexplained. In terms of Original IPs: they have a *lot of catching up to do: Kid Icarus, Donkey Kong (a 3D game please for once!) and even Astral Chain - all could do with new games!
Where *are the games?! There's a cryptic message on a Prime 4 survey fans might have received in a Nintendo newsletter - but that's it.
Aside from that, it's full steam ahead with the re-Makes.
A princess Peach game and the usual slew of Indie dev games is *very suspect given that next year, GOTY year awards are likely all going to bend and flock in their herds over gta6.
Despite Nintendo's healthy position, why rest on their laurels and take the sales hit gta6 will inevitably deal to them??
Also, the Switch could be known for the console of the re-makes, the Switch '2' could fare very well being Nintedo's console of the 'Port'. Since Visions of Mana's reveal, and the drop that a Nintendo system was strikingly omitted from their usual Multi-platform line-up - it seems to all be lining up that Furukawa and this whole 'transition' buzzword could model itself onto much better ports the Switch had (yes Wolfenstein may have been great at the time, but time has moved steadily on and We're on the Unreal 5 level of visuals now.)
So here's hoping Nintendo don't to go back to being Naivetendo again: one positive is that Furukawa is Business-minded so this short-term reveal to Release will only continue benefitting Nintendo.
But he of all people will know it's good to make and invest More while you're at the top, than to wait for a choppy period and dips and droughts in sales and then play 'catchup' from there.
PS: shoutout to ''Olliew'' - 100% agree and great Comment!
Had Wonder been the 2nd 3D Mario on the Switch, it would have been jousting for Tears for 1st place. Maybe even taking the coveted spot as the themes were so Mystical and amazing and you could almost feel it trying to pop out the screen in the stunning World-Map overview. Like ''make me 3D pleaseee!!''
Even Pikmin 4 got the memo of being an ambitious title, pushing Our beloved glorified Calculator to it's 250 screaming and melting core limits!
I'd have happily placed Pikmin 4 in 2nd spot. As for Wonder,, oh well. Another case of: Nintendo had it all , but threw it all against a brick wall. But 'everyone else' will say ''imagine hatin' on 2D (even though I'm not hating), Wonder is t3h b3est - get outta here!1''
This literally looks like a watered down Let's Go engine. No, make that heavily hosed Let's Go graphics.
If any game needed the visual impact for immersion, it's this one, 10 times more than Scarlet & Violet and that game has sprawling open worlds. Instead, the visuals look well over 10 times worse than SVs! Anyone disputing this is simply in denial or wants hollow attention, sorry.
They didn't even bother with Coat texturing details this time, lol! In a Detective game!! I really shouldn't be laughing(!)
4/10 for me. Was really looking forward into the Quirks of this series, but not with these vomit visuals for one, sorry! I didn't want a Let's Go spin off with the textures all run off. No way. I'm good with SV, Snap & PLA thanks!
I have my fair share of moans too (don't remind me of the near countless online fights I've had between critiquing Breath of the Wild and on 'the other hand' , defending Scarlet & Violet & Other M) lol!
I mean, I guess I should be happy: I was really scared Tears would wind me the same disappointment as I felt toward Breath (long story as suggested just previous) - but no; while not the Best Zelda I've ever played still, I truly loved Tears of the kingdom. In Zelda terms; I'm a simple gamer: I see Dungeons, I like and more likely, Buy.
While I admit Tears' Temples could have been better fleshed out to 1:1 match the complexity of the Best dungeons of older Zelda games, when I actually tried them out, I actually really enjoyed them for what they were. The Unique Bosses (not all perfect but hey) added a ton for me into what Zelda is all about, and that for me mattered the most.
The Open World also , despite all the (quite fierce) backlash of it being ''exactly like Breaths and no real surprise'', feels almost totally different to me. In Breath, it's just one land - but adding the Sky Islands up top, combined with what you know lurks below (as repetitive as some section can get) but nonetheless there; the whole deal took on a vibe I much liken to the OG A Link to the Past. The swirling mists and landscape just took on a more 'interesting look', not to mention the literal gaping potholes of brooding goop and slimy (Gloom) darkness dotting the map, adding a really neat twist to proceedings.
That made all the difference. The real drawback was the lack of Zonai lore and Sky gameplay. And yes, I'm greedy and would have liked even more Dungeons and enemy variety - but eh,, I'm happy lol.
I loved the 'good Chaos' of all of the Zonai mechanic stuff lumped and layered on top of the now grouped up grunts (Moblins) and yiga. And the Brooding, nightmarish Gloom Hands are just what the series needed for so long, and after the concerning serenity of Breath's almost carefreeness and emptiness. I mean, Breath guardians were there but I don't mean to sound a combat snob (I'm nowhere near) but they were pretty easy after barely a couple of shrines of upgrading. But the Gloom Hands ,, oh no, noo. Lol. I needed to wait to at least mid game before properly taking those head on! Phew!
The re-Makes are a bit of an onslaught but even I can't help but feel a little charmed by some of them, especially in the face of FF16 & Starfield.
Loved FF16, maybe not as much as Zelda (bias admittance lol) but Starfield only showed why Nintendo is so strong when it really matters. Starfield could have been Epic, but invisible walls, sparse planets, lack of Free-flight and diluted gameplay in general was a humble lesson I feel (that shockingly for once many of the big media Publications went with on their harshness and critique for once, many awarding 7/10s!)
So yea, sorry for the side-ramble! But that aside, I do think Nintendo did well overall this Year; as you say, We hope they can follow up with the next System sooner than later as it will only help them with such a Successful and massive library and fanbase they built up over the past 5 years.
@samuelvictor Alright. My post did veer much into what I hope people will see as 'gaming territory' as I really didn't want to push ''current affairs'' any further. I understand what you are mentioning and much of it is indeed true; but it's also very obvious and well known most religions do heavily disdain upon any mode of violence - in fact, that's much of why religion was even formed: as a set of rules & even laws, as a matter of fact! It's people who take mattersinto their own hands and step out of line , many in 'the name' of religion that pose big issues. And the people who purposely or accidently blur the lines with lack of or misinformation only add to the swirling fire sadly.
That's why I also pointed towards gang violence; which has very little or nothing to do with religion (at least in the immediacy) and that has claimed and affected countless lives.
And, what about a certain conflict that stemmed from a certain, ahem, Russian? Has that fallen silent all of a sudden and the 2 opposing parties cuddling up?
The sad thing is, people just like mentioning what's in the news now these days - because, well, people like 'gossip' - but also that the Media is simply too powerful now.
Facts are; Gang crime, organised or isolated (down to single thugs) pose the most immediate threats to people.
Anyhow - I have read over some comments that do acknowledge that Hogwart's Legacy is likely the straw that broke the camel's back in terms of Our dear Switch holding some semblance of face; but the reality is, games that are heavy on CPU processing power & memory (especially VRAM) really have it in for the Switch 1.
Bayontetta 3 and Monster Hunter Rise are the only games that show Switch in its best light. Xenoblade 3 looks great but is stylised. The reality is; beyond 2nd parties: Nintendo are still struggling to show an ace card.
It was acceptable maybe 10 years ago: but since 2014, the HD era has been more or less in full swing and Nintendo has had over 10 years to acclimatise. Of course, I don't want and do not expect a powerhouse: Nintendo prize their Software 1st clearly, so the Switch's R&D ate into a ton of their development time and so the lack of power is totally acceptable.
What is not, is the fanbases' mindset (not all of Us of course!) that the ''Switch 1 is enough and all I need''. Sorry to say it to the point & bluntly , but that's frankly selfish. It's certainly not all that Nintendo needs as a Company; however well you're doing you still need to account for the future to grow and be more sustainable.
Switch Potter does not look pretty and it's a simple fact We just have to face.
Nintendo finally found it's feet after a shaky few years during the Wii / U era - and the Switch (at least in concept) is a Formidable development that I love and will stand the test of time better than the Gameboy.
But they need to start addressing the power bar just a bit more now.
Yes, hugging 2D Mario will probably always serve them well but games like Harry Potter serve as hefty a reminder as ever that it's time to put the power-shyness since the post-Gamecube days away and go back to embracing the Cores a bit.
3rd partys do matter.
The Gamecube was a fantastic console, and Iconic classics like Metroid Prime that started out as N64 titles owe much of their Success to the power that the Gamecube brought them.
It's time to revisit that mode of development now.
@Not_Soos Well stated. That other guy's remarks were typical of someone who only cares for proliferating ignorance and misinformation.
Has that guy ever taken a History lesson and recalled an event that happened just before 1940?? Was that anything to do with 'faiths'? Not to mention all the horrible petty crime that goes on between faithless gangs on the streets nearly every hour. Lol.
Anyhow, back to the game! I regret to say that, although I really wanted to push myself to buy this game (as I do think it is excellent) - sadly the graphics do serve to make up a lot of the wholesomeness and immersion of the Open world experience and the poor Switch (my only console) appears to have really been given a baptism of Fire here. It's literally, fall upon your face, potato pancake party mode graphics here. Vaseline all over my screen.
Sigh. I mean, I will likely still by it as my PC cannot hope to run it at anywhere near Max settings; but it'll have to be only from 3rd party bargain bins now.
I mean, I did expect a 'Performance/visual hit' but , damn! We desperately need the Switch 2.
If any game needed to convey that message in the most powerful manner; this is the one. A well known, very popular AAA title that had years of love & craft poured into it to help it shake off the bad stigma (deserved of course) of an otherwise totally redundant franchise in 1 fell swoop and bring the 'Potter' name right to the top tables in gaming.
I mean look: it doesn't look totally horrific but why accept this and say ''I love Nintendo''? Don't you want Our system to be a tad more powerful to cope with new-age games like this? And it's only going to get more demanding as the Unreal 5 engine games really start to trickle down.
Tears was fantastic. But ,, only 2D titles & re-Makes this holiday Nintendo, are We serious?
This game really did mean a lot but as much as so called 'Nintendo fans' want to cover it up or deflect with remarks like ''I don't care for power, nor this game'' or ''Still images show nothing!1'' , it highlights Nintendo's biggest shortcomings over the years all in one showcase.
Does nVidia need to be selling like the Wii U to release their next line of Performance graphics cards?? No!
Nvidia were making mega $$'s off their 3xxx series RTX models but released the RTX 4xxx series anyway. Even though the performance gains were minimal this time!
There's little/no excuse for the Switch 2 being delayed and honestly, I'm not sure why some people are so 'anti' or cynical towards the whole notion of Nintendo upgrading in power. For me, I have to say most of the comments are very coy and dismissive: the game looks totally potato and laughable and has honestly brought the 260 core system finally to it's knees for all to see.
I love Nintendo as much as any fan wishes to proclaim, but they don't need to embarrass themselves like this when it comes to 3rd partys. They are important Nintendo: please release your next System asap.
Anyway - I want both series to do well, my favorite game of all time is Ocarina (and that's no easy decision given I've been gaming for over 20 years.)
Instead: Breath sacrificed it's ''Zelda-ry self'' to become technically Perfect. All the game screams to me is: ''Look what the Switch can really do''.
Yes, but I ask back: ''but where is my Zelda game?''
I don't re-call Zelda being collecting endless seeds, eggs and all my 'rewards' shattering making all my efforts seem , no being actually pointless''.
You'll always get 8 Gyms, it's Towns; and yes - the ones this time *are much more thought out, lively and actually pose a semblance of a challenge over Sword & Shield.
You'll always get your Pokemon of course - new and interesting ones always out there but now with the sweeping and immersive locations to back them, ''15fps Windmill blades'' notwithstanding.
Not in the way least - the top notch music (people, even sceptics of the series like you) are raving about some of the already deemed Classic themes in Scarlet/Violet.
So, now onto Tears. I like what I see, I like the dark, offset mood and some of the Unique weapons finally show Aonuma is trying to bring back that special Mystical Zelda feel - but as I sad, We've seen so so little.
There's still a lot for Tears to offer: I don't want another repritive collectathon to nothing of a game, I want a memorable, more linear yet structured tale and adventure with numerous unique Bosses at bare minimum. Let's see.
Please, take care to check your emotions in the future.
''Lilligant was flaming more than I was.'' ~ please, even after your post got removed. Please stop embarrassing yourself.
I was not ''attacking'' you in any offensive form or manner. Please do not fabricate - my post is there for all to see.
Just calm down and learn to level arguments in a more civil manner next time. I even warned you in my last post - and look what happened. If you really cannot well, then you can't be a member here? Think about that.
Now, enjoy playing what you wish.
Let's see if Tears lives up to it's lofty expectations and makes up for the disappointment and lack of main dungeons of Breath.
Well, your opinions are the prediciatable responses from any of those 'naysaying agenda' YTer influencers have.
Hmmp, using allcaps on random words too; presumably to ''emphasise'' your amazing ''points'' I take it isn't it? Lol.
How can anyone in their right mind of sense compare the juddery, jarring mess that were the old Colosseum games to this??
The 3D models in Scarlet/Violet are proprietary - and that's simply a fact. The eyes, and facial animations all have been re-worked based on intel from some of Monolith-soft's team projects if you were paying any actual attention than just mindlessly feeding off what Agenda-bent YTers were reeling off like the next hot press tabloid eagar to make clicks.
Anyways; it's a lost cause trying to level any reason at you - as you've obviously got ''the New games r Trash'' stamped into your mind now.
And all your points will just focus on the technical aspects of the game.
Yet unfortunately for you - that is a very stoich and totally inaccurate viewpoint, simply by watching videos & clips even of the beta versions of the games.
What I can say is this - you have this news: now, you can type and rant and rage as much as you want but the fact is this event of this articles happened - and you are triggered into your 1st response because of it.
But, it's done. Real people, real fans who will actually own and/or have tested these games as part of the selected (unpaid) group have spoken - plus many more that haven't of course touched the New games.
It's there in front of you - the Japanese audience for one is always going to be the main core influencers - and they have spoken.
Scarlet & Violet are simply More anticipated than Zelda's sequel.
Black & White were Good, but how can you not like an Open-World over those - it makes absolutely 0 sense on all accounts. You know it but again, it's apologising for nostalgia.
Black/White are not the Best - ORAS is my best Pokemon game of all time but I'm not going to kid myself and sit here typing a lot about the newer games like Scarlet/Violet just in the end to say ''Pokemon now is hot garbage'' and think I'm anywhere near smart?? Scarlet & Violet are as an experience by far way above B/W + ORAS and overall only 2nd to ORAS for me.
You're given Legendaries (I know the story because I've started my play on it) on a nice beach setting you immediately gel & bond with and [spoilers] you are entrusted to them (as lost entities) by the Professors - on top of your Starters. And then you eventually get to soar high and mightily over the whole land with them?! Not to mention - Biking and seamless travelling over a lush World full of well crafted Mon?
Yea, compare that to a soulless tacked-on jarring motorcycle you get in Breath1 after you have to painfully grind through 120 identikit shr!nes. Ahem.
Also coming round to the other point - you're obviously plumping for Tears as your most anticipated - based on what exactly? All 20 seconds of totally abstract clips and not even gameplay We've seen of Tears so far??
@Yosher So, you can't see the massive Open-world that's a 1st for the biggest selling Gaming series as a significant change?
This is what being blinded by the nostalgia bot is like folks. Sad to see. You're no Pokemon fan if you think the games have to look as Good as Bayonetta 3; Pokemon is about simple and clean but Charming design and puts Gameplay > graffix. And Scarlet/Violet have achieved exactly that - but still they're in no way 'bad looking' games.
If you're not seeing it, over the bland emptiness that was Breath then you're not a Pokemon fan. Tears looks good - but We've seen so so little of it - yet another factual trump over your non-argument!

And do I have to ride those goofy ass motorcycle dragons the whole game too? Why can't I just ride my Pokemon? I genuinely hate to sound this critical but I'm really upset they couldn't just make this an open world Pokemon without the goofy BS, it totally killed my hype''

???? Eh? What??
I cannot believe the level of naivety, lack of wit and general -veity in some of these comments - especially the above guy who clearly doesn't understand the premise of what he's saying.
The map is Open-access (access all areas), a true Open-World just like Breath of the Wild. They've given you the Box Legendaries as all-purpose-vehicles what looks to be near or even at the starting Town to be able to access this.
If you just had to go off on foot or a standard bike to say, access your Gogoat or Stantler for your dream ride you basically would have to wait all that time until you actually encountered and caught those Pokemon to 'fast travel' and traverse awkward terrain like long grass maybe. That would maybe be over an hour into a playthrough of needing to boringly bike it only!
So, the Box Leggies are just like Breath of the Wild's Runes and Links' default (and busted) ability to scale walls at the price of stamina which you could work around with easy to access foodstuffs anyway.
Yes, eventually We hope you can ride a Gogoat but they didn't want these titles to simply feel like the older games all over again.
That would defeat the whole point of an 'Open World' anyway. There's a difference to 'Sandbox arena' and full 'Open World'. Breath is a true Open World and something like say, Halo Infinite is a Sandbox. Legends Arceus is multiple sandbox areas but not a true Open World.
This is Legends Arceus but only 10x better in terms of seamless World exploration and fun access to areas.
As for the new gimmick; Megas were simply not ''changing types'' lol, what are you on about?
''big Goofy balloon on Tyranitar's head'' ~ You're obviously a newcomer to the Series. That is an amazing reference to the ''Ghost sprites'' used in the *Original Red and Blue games!

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
I'll clock in more on some thought later maybe , but for ppl who like the very hard boiled gaming experiences of the past , I feel games are actually slowing down on Open Worlds as Prime 4 Itself is not a true Open world
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond: Secret Ending And How To Get It
I'm barely 25% into my own casual run lol [spoilers]just got past the plant Boss Carvex[/spoilers] - and barely ever 100% complete games - so naturally I had to visit here.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Re: PSA: Copy Your Save In Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Before You Enter The Endgame
@Elitepatriot Indeed! π―π
It just saddens me some groups on the Net have to push such negative agendas about. Granted, no one wants to pay through the nose but where there is supply and Marked up Pricing , it has to stem from some genuine demand
Re: PSA: Copy Your Save In Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Before You Enter The Endgame
@Elitepatriot I tend to not measure "a games Worth" by it's financial valuation anyhow.
If a game is Good and I find it good , it is good. And Prime 4 for me so far is Good.
Re: PSA: Copy Your Save In Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Before You Enter The Endgame
Re: PSA: Copy Your Save In Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Before You Enter The Endgame
@OldGamer999 Yikes , talk about Over reaction of the century!! π€¦ββοΈπ Are you actually for real?!
On a more precise note; have you played the game yet for real??
Re: PSA: Copy Your Save In Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Before You Enter The Endgame
@Lizuka Yeah yeah , We all know your real thoughts on this game. Well , at least I know from that other thread.
So , why are you even here showing some interest? So many dual faced people these days! π€·ββοΈ
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
So I'm welcoming the genuine marriage of old and New here
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Hahahaha
Hahahaaahaaaa
Ahhhh π π

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
@jfp Ikr lol ππ What's with some of these ppl?
And they have no coherence - Wind Wakers Great sea was apparently not empty when even if you tried to sequence Break early you were not rewarded because the game was inherently Linear by design so any faraway points you reached were walled or Locked off.
But here We are in 2025 , with some ppl believing they are smart in criticising a Desert area as "empty" (an empty and basic , even ignorant statement in itself) and just lampooning that even as a vehicle to "critique" Open Worlds in general π€·ββοΈπ
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
@Jireland92 Ok. From what you've seen , what do you roughly think?
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
@Thirteen1355 Yet , here you are. Typing your usual nonsense all the same.
If your games are so great (read you like a book in my last comment btw , you're too predictable lol!) again , why are you here?
I guess Prime 4 "baited" you in? Maybe you came here to have a chuckle at the Prime 4 fans , because that's what gamers who have such a great gaming Library normally do right?? π
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
@Thirteen1355 I mean , it's you again from YT lol.
If every bone of you is so against "games like these" Mr Imma Supremist gamer in my own Mind (tm) , why are you even on here??
Is it the attention you so desire? Forget Prime 4 , people like you should not be anywhere near modern Gaming. Stick to 0ctopath and your PS2 games π€·ββοΈ
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
@Lizuka Give me a break lol. What a horrible attempt at an analogy! Actually , yes you do - are McDonalds customers all Chefs now?! No. So why are they so Successful? Because those ppl aren't chefs, they have 0.0025 rating in Palate
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
@Yoshi3 Lol , fella that meant nothing. Open World is a gaming mechanic.
It's just that Metroid has not had it. It has stifled the series sales , leading to ambitious 3D projects almost being scrapped after 12 years of fans waiting.
And you're labeling me a the 'baiter'
Heh , fella I am a Debater. And your namecalling has already lost you this one π€·ββοΈ
You brought nothing to the table besides "I h8 Open World pls listen to me , I'm a Successful gaming Dev in front of a keyboard" vibes
Come on. You can do better π€·ββοΈ
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
@a1904 Yes , I do agree with this. A very good comparison
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Finally Gets A Release Date, Open World Confirmed
@ShieldHero
Indeed π―π I'm too stoked for this! This of course is all on top of the standard fare Metroid base crawler and light Puzzles gameplay the Metroidvania we all know and love. The series did need modernization after being away for so long and Beyond seems to be doing the job almost Perfectly
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Finally Gets A Release Date, Open World Confirmed
@GrailUK
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Finally Gets A Release Date, Open World Confirmed
@Rainz
Don't these ppl ever get bored of their own whiny and moany voices in their heads? π
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Finally Gets A Release Date, Open World Confirmed
Re: Rumour: New 'Switch 2' Photos Show Off A Very Legit-Looking Joy-Con
@intergalacticNikolai I also - but We have to be realisitc. If they're not Hall Effect units, which I am 99. (99 9s)% sure they aren't on the 1st wave SKUs at the very least - they're gonna drift.
And knowing Nintendo's hardware these days, they're not going be much better than the current ones.
It will be a case of ''the Switch 2 is 5x better and powerful than the original - if only this was also the case with the Joy Cons''
Re: Review: Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen - Monster Hunter Meets Darks Souls
Re: Review: Grounded (Switch) - Obsidian's Shrunk-Down Survival Adventure Struggles On Switch
Re: 35 Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games To Look Forward To In 2024
Ok, I am going to be brutally honest here, not counting re-Makes for once: I can barely name 5.
Re: Talking Point: Could Nintendo Go Another Year Without A Switch Successor?
Re: Best Nintendo Switch Games Of 2023
Had Wonder been the 2nd 3D Mario on the Switch, it would have been jousting for Tears for 1st place.
But 'everyone else' will say ''imagine hatin' on 2D (even though I'm not hating), Wonder is t3h b3est - get outta here!1''
Re: Review: Detective Pikachu Returns - Drab-Looking But Fun Forensics For The Fam
Jeez, it looks horrendous! Sorry to be blunt but We have PokΓ©mon Scarlet/Violet, Legends Arceus, New PokΓ©mon Snap - and then, this.
This, this has close up's of rooms, people, PokΓ©mon of course - and streets. The sheer irony and audacity to give this the worst visuals of a PokΓ©mon game in practically 10 years!!
4/10 for me. Was really looking forward into the Quirks of this series, but not with these vomit visuals for one, sorry! I didn't want a Let's Go spin off with the textures all run off. No way. I'm good with SV, Snap & PLA thanks!
Re: Nintendo Website Shares First Look At Hogwarts Legacy On Switch
@samuelvictor (thumbs up)
I mean, yea well put.
Re: Nintendo Website Shares First Look At Hogwarts Legacy On Switch
@Ulysses Agreed!
Re: Nintendo Website Shares First Look At Hogwarts Legacy On Switch
Sales - honestly, here I really don't care; why are people bringing up 'sales' now in favour of the Switch? And sales ''don't matter'' suddenly when it comes to Quality in a ''are the new PokΓ©mon games good'' debate?? Yea, pull me the other one lol.
Re: Metroid Prime Remastered Physical Edition Out Now In Europe & Japan
I think Physical copies still hold a lot of value (even more so on a space-limited Hybrid that is the Switch.)
You get to save disk space plus get a real Iconic piece to cherish, what's not to love?!
Re: PokΓ©mon Scarlet And Violet Overtakes Zelda In Famitsu's Most-Wanted Games List
@Yosher Okay - I will set any back and forth in this argument aside for now. I've read you points, I will just say this.
You know, I have been playing the game during most of my posts - and so my words have actual practical basis. While I understand in your last post, you're coming to a constructively critical reasoning - and yes you did not call me a 'Zelda hater' that is true - I find it a bit remarkable you are still posting as if you have played even half the game, which you have not. All your thoughts are still based off the recent 3D games' errors and shortcomings, and are so strictly speculative (negatively so) towards this title. You haven't played it through, I can tell because yes of course there are flaws - but I know actual PokΓ©mon fans can't actually dislike Scarlet Violet for what they offer as a whole using the general consensus of YT for others playing and the comments below.
Anyway - I want both series to do well, my favorite game of all time is Ocarina (and that's no easy decision given I've been gaming for over 20 years.)
I feel these 2 series have gone quite opposite ways over the past 5 years - for me PokΓ©mon has become more 'realistic' and tangible than ever before to a very immersive level - but of course, it does lack visual and technical polish, especially with quite a few move animations and leaving out many store interiors is not acceptable. But Zelda, for me has done the thing I did not want; dropping content and the special, mystical gameplay that made supposed ''inferior'' Zelda games like even Skyward Sword so cherished to me.
This is why despite PokΓ©mon's idiosyncrasies - I always defend it.
Let's see.
Re: PokΓ©mon Scarlet And Violet Overtakes Zelda In Famitsu's Most-Wanted Games List
@Yosher I'm busy enjoying the Game.
Re: PokΓ©mon Scarlet And Violet Overtakes Zelda In Famitsu's Most-Wanted Games List
@Yosher ?
The other points of ''Gamefreak being infinitely rich'' and ''8+ year timescale to make ''th3 b3st g4me'' are very tedious and flat. No, Pokemon isn't going to be using the Unreal 5 engine even if you gave them 20 years. It's just not how PokΓ©mon are supposed to be, envisioned by the creators themselves.
My point exactly. It's just a hate wagon on newer PokΓ©mon games that doesn't make any sense.
Re: PokΓ©mon Scarlet And Violet Overtakes Zelda In Famitsu's Most-Wanted Games List

'' Those crystal Pokemon look so ridiculous I can't believe it, I felt so embarrassed looking at Tyrannitar with that big goofy balloon on his head. They couldn't just not add a dumb mechanic for once? Like swapping types once per battle, okay, that's kinda what mega evolutions were but whatever, but I have to actually look at everything turn into Elton John/Lady Gaga the whole time? And do I have to ride those goofy ass motorcycle dragons the whole game too? Why can't I just ride my Pokemon? I genuinely hate to sound this critical but I'm really upset they couldn't just make this an open world Pokemon without the goofy BS, it totally killed my hype''

???? Eh? What??
I cannot believe the level of naivety, lack of wit and general -veity in some of these comments - especially the above guy who clearly doesn't understand the premise of what he's saying.
How on *Earth (ahem, Paldea) would you be able or allowed to ''ride any PokΓ©mon you want'' if you're just starting off on your journey come on why can't people actually pause to think about what they're saying on here??
These type-changing abilities have never been used in PokΓ©mon - what did you want, something ridiculously OP and obnoxious like Dynamaxing again (aka - 'lets make an already easy series or game 100x easier for you with crazy movesets and stats?!')
So, your comment and opinions like these hating on the Rideable Legendaries hold no water. Just a couple of bad, misplaced eggs.
