Re: The Grinder Is High Voltage's Second New IP

King_Elemento

I'll consider it.
I might add it to my wishlist once more stuff comes out on this thing, since it does look interesting, however I think HVS are aiming too highly, even more so with setting themselves such tight deadlines.
I'm thinking these games aren't going to be as good as people think.

Re: Check Out Some Final Fantasy IV: The After Years Gameplay

King_Elemento

I'll be getting the game, of course, but SquEnix better take the stats from the previous episode's save file. If I have to go through grinding to L50 from some sucky default stats in all 9 chapters, I'll be pissed. Thankfully, I'm sure SquEnix are smart enough to do this right. Even if 9 chapters is still way too much. I'd rather pay all 5000 points in one go, rather than separately.
Then again, it'll probably be 500/1000 for the first chapter, then 200/300 for the rest.
Ugh... why can't it just be ONE GAME?

Re: Fan-made Mother 3 Guide is All Kinds of Awesome

King_Elemento

Nintendo, this is just even MORE proof there is a FANBASE for your product. There is a MARKET.

So why haven't they only released 1 of the 3 games in North America, and none of them in Europe? They have the perfect chance with the Virtual Console, and whatever the DSi equivalent will be.

Re: Pokémon Gold and Silver To Be Remade?

King_Elemento

I doubt they'll do the games justice, but it took them dang long enough to get on with this project. I'm going to assume they're already at least half way done.

Also, Celebi needs an in-game location to be catchable, worldwide. This had better be fixed in these.

Re: Ten Game Boy Games You Should Be Playing

King_Elemento

I'm glad you didn't number them, because then the comments would be full of people arguing "Why is SML2 not at top?" and people against them saying "Why is LA not number one?" etc.
All in all, a great list a very much agree with.
But you say you had about 25 games you wanted in this list... 25 is a nice number, why not make it a top 25 article, instead?

Re: 1000 Free Nintendo Points to EU Customers

King_Elemento

I've just decided to get a DSi. I still have a DS Lite that's good for GBA games, and a GBA itself, so those will suffice for the DSi's lack of a GBA slot.
Whatever other downsides there are (slightly reduced battery life, etc) I'll have to live with.

Re: Nintendo confirms "play from SD" feature

King_Elemento

Hmm.... Arcade...
How about... SegaSonic Arcade? Full Donkey Kong? The list could go on...
Also... 32GB? Playing straight from them? I need a bigger card!
But it's v4.0 of the System Menu, straight from v3.4. I'm sure there are other updates, such as a temporary Twilight Hack Prevention.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

King_Elemento

Huzzah!
Now let's just hope it's NOT a DSi exclusive, or DSiWare, or something. I don't want to shell out for a new console as well.
I'm guessing it's retail though, as it's based off Phantom Hourglass. I would like D-Pad/Button controls as well, which is the one thing PH lacked, even if the replacement controls weren't bad.

@79. Stuffgamer1:
Nah, neither of them are in Europe, yet. Though there are 2 of them in Japan, the second game having two games, and a merger of the two as the third game.
I wasn't aware that G&W Gallery 4 (Advance) had the modern games, I thought it was just a pile of the classic ones. Well, now that is even further up my wishlist!
Still, a lot of the Gameboy ports of the G&W games try to fit a two screen game onto one screen, all the more reason to have them separate, if you ask me. Though they could adapt the games to two screens, rather than squashing both into one. After all, Nintendo will probably put more effort into the handheld VC over the console one, as the link cable will require turning into wi-fi, they'd probably add other stuff at the same time.

Re: Rejoice! The DSi Gets a Virtual Console After All

@62. Stuffgamer1:
The essay comment was a bit of exaggeration anyway. Wireless, I'd guess, is similar to the Link Cable. Obviously online is a bit over the top, for now, but it would be a really nice touch if they did.
I don't want anything to do with the current G&W collections, to be perfectly honest. 3 games on one card, when they could fit 6 on a GBA cart, and 4 on a GBC cart (WITH bonus material) is an insult to themselves, to be honest. Especially considering they're both Club Nintendo exclusives. I seem to remember reading somewhere that, technologically, every G&W game could fit on a DS card, with room to spare.

I think you missed my point with the Pokemon Stadium comment (the fault is on my end, I don't think I made it clear enough), as I meant the Gen 1 Pokemon games and Pokemon Stadium would probably get a simultaneous release. I'm sure they could replace the RBY/Stadium connectivity code with the DPPt/PBR code, but the engines are most likely completely different, and it's beyond me anyway, so there we go.

Re: Rejoice! The DSi Gets a Virtual Console After All

King_Elemento

Wouldn't this be better suited for a VC-Reviews article?
Bleh, I'm not adding a DSi to my wishlist until Game and Watch games are confirmed. I'd rather buy cartridges of Metroid II, Kirby's Dream Land and Super Mario Land if they're not.

I have a more in depth post (more like essay) over on Nintendo Life, if anyone's interested, though I doubt it. It's mostly rabble anyway.

Re: Game Boy Legacy Revived Via DSi?

King_Elemento

Hmm, lets hope they apply optional SGB or GBC-like colour palettes to a load of the original, Greyscale games.
However I'm not raiding my bank account until Game and Watch games are announced.

Also, they'd better allow for games like Pokemon RGBY to link with Pokemon Stadium on VC, or allow wireless (preferably online, too) multiplayer, if they release games like Four Swords from the GBA.

And of course, Sega Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket, and other handheld consoles would be nice too (Atari Lynx, anyone?)

I for one just want to download Metroid II, Kirby's Dream Land, Super Mario Land, and other Gameboy games I missed by being introduced to gaming a couple of years too late. But again, this goes only if the Game and Watch Zelda titles appear on there.

Re: Japan to get the Classic Controller Pro

King_Elemento

I'll stick with my SNES-based CC until they come out with a handle-less 6-button one.
The only superiority this thing has are the shoulder buttons, and the Z buttons aren't even used that much. I'm not bothered about where the wire is, as long as it doesn't interrupt my play.

Re: USA VC Update: Kirby's Dream Land 3

King_Elemento

In all honesty...
I WANT THIS GAME. D=<

Dangit NoE, bring on a Hanabi Festival faster than you can say "import".
Just... let NoA say "EarthBound" first, then at least we have a chance. =P

But still, I don't feel sorry for you Yanks much at all. I feel more sorry for the folks down under when the only PAL releases are C64 games, because that's no release, and that's just stupid.

But something I'd like to see, are games that were unreleased, but clearly close to finished, or were scheduled for release. Take for example EarthBound 64, or Starfox 2.

Just... let Nintendo have their "master plan" unfold as they want it to, 'cause that's what's going to happen, whether you like it or not.

Re: USA VC Update: StarTropics II

King_Elemento

Because I don't really want a lot for a home consoles, my top 10 is probably my ONLY 10, but I'll list them anyway.
1. Majora's. F-ing. Mask.
2. Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
3. Earthbound.
4. Mother.
5. Kirby's Fun Pak (or Super Star, whatever they release it as)
6. BS Zelda: Ancient Stone Tablets (For the Satellaview).
7. That other Satellaview Zelda.
8. Duck Hunt (Wiimote = Zapper).
9. Star Fox 64 (Not Lylat Wars, I want proper voices to tell me about Barrel Rolls).
10. Megaman 64 (ie Megaman Legends, even if they have to go through the other sub-series' first)

If SF64 doesn't count for you, replace it with Smash Bros, 'cause otherwise it'd fit at 11, and if the Satellaview stuff doesn't count for you... replace them with Superman 64 and the entire Atari 2600 library

@25. NintendoBrad:
1200 points? Maybe the extra charge for... additional content?
The only things I can think of are improved graphics... updated stages/characters... glitch fixing...
And the most obvious: ONLINE PLAY.
Under which circumstances, it'll probably be an insta-download if it comes to Europe.
