there's plenty of other games for the switch that involve swinging your arms around, i mean i know we've all forgotten it by now but... 1-2 switch anyone? the game literally designed to advertise table-top mode? there was quite a few games in there that you could accidentally smack someone in the head over
I've had my switch since launch day, the only real reason why I've upgraded to the OLED was because the case has had severe cracks form around the fan, and my joy-cons experienced drift bad.
Also at some point I somehow scratched the screen, which is kind of my fault but still, good excuse to go for a switch OLED.
Still keep it around because I can do things with it because the novelty of homebrew is neat, even if I almost never use it for that purpose. (edit: as in, i barely used it for homebrew, i didn't use it for that reason lol*
already people in the comments being like "wow he's showing them how to pirate, they got what they had coming", clearly showing they didn't read the article.
nobody in these videos ever showed how to even obtain them, not even rip them from your own systems, they just demonstrated the emulators running.
it's a clear abuse of the DMCA, and nintendo is absolutely going to get away with it, and i hate that
Yeah, this all blows chunks, it almost feels deliberate how Nintendo is doing this, after not only thanking the feds for jailing someone distributing piracy tools, but also bringing over Earthbound (Zero) to NSO. It especially stings when they had a section explaining themselves where they basically said "lol u aren't getting anything like the virtual console again buddy ", it's like they're actively wanting people to pirate their games.
dang, it's almost as if trying to actively invest in a pyramid scheme to scam people out of their money means you don't have that many morals, making it so you treat your employees like cattle
@Specter_of-the_OLED They didn't use emulation for Sonic Gems Collection, they did a full-on port of the code, just like they did for the HD versions released on XBLA and PSN. To do emulation for just this game alone, especially with all the features it added, would be harder than to just port the game from source I'd assume.
wait a sec, the steps to perform the game crashing glitch is something i did in my playthrough, and it didn't crash my game. that's really weird, i guess i got lucky?
...we all wish. So that we could listen to Nintendo's music without having to resort to the pirate bay, or lugging an entire flippin Switch as a MP3 player with a 3 hour battery life.
@Rafke If it's gonna be just "a few", why don't they clarify that? The only thing they've said is that there's gonna be missing pokemon, they never specified how much.
I think that's where the biggest upset is, we don't know how many are going to be missing. For all we know, 2 generations worth of Pokemon are going to be missing, and if that's the case, then that'd reaaally suck.
I did notice some incompatibilities (e.g. look at MK64's giant screen that appears on the course shown off, common bug found in emulators), but hey, this can only mean the start of something good.
Looking forward to it, and I honestly might pick it up myself since I don't have an N64.
This is without a doubt going to show what the new game mode is, and I just really, really hope it's a damn good single player mode of some sort, along the lines of Subspace Emissary.
Chorus Kids immediately deconfirms this leak for me. I've said it once and I'll say it again, I will literally chew on my Smash Ultimate cartridge if this leak is somehow true.
FYI: Not saying Chorus Kids would make for a bad character, I'm saying it's a very, very, VERY unlikely pick.
That didn't take long. Figured it wouldn't, but still shocks me how quick homebrewers can be.
I'd be eager to try this myself, but I still be scared of dem there telemetrics, especially on an app that needs to phone home every now and then. Cuz an app like that I'd bet would be monitored heavily to ensure hackers aren't getting in w/o proper permissions.
Woo, this game is getting localized, that's pretty great.
I got it on the Japanese eShop, and imo it is worth $9.99. Pick it up if you can, it's a short romp, but it's also perfect for a quick-play session with friends.
Been using it since the announcement came out, it works pretty dang well. Over wireless, whenever the connection becomes flaky, Steam does all sorts of weird, but when wired, it works absolutely fine.
Heck, using shortcuts, I'm able to use the screenshot button to both screenshot my game, and to record the previous 30 seconds in video, the screenshots being done by Steam, and the videos being done by Windows 10's game bar thing.
Let's not forget that the version of Minecraft for Switch will have significantly bigger worlds than the Wii U, it's a nice compromise between what the 360/PS3/Wii U could do and what the PS4/Xbone can do.

Re: 3DS System Update 11.10.0-43 Is Now Live
homebrewers: releases exploit for DSi that makes all systems vulnerable via the camera app
nintendo: better time than ever to release a 3DS update
(not implying nintendo's gonna update the dsi btw, just funny how the two happened around the same time)
Re: Team Sonic Racing Drops Opening Cutscene On Switch Due To "Cartridge Size Restrictions"
ah yes, a video file that is surely not even 1GB large couldn't fit on the cartridge

Re: Rumour: Unannounced Characters For Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Have Possibly Been Leaked
@Dalarrun I would also hope they're in, but I'm still very doubtful.
Sakurai does have that surprise factor though, so...let's just hope they're not revealed until near the release of the game.

Re: Wii U Receives First System Firmware Update Since 2017
@Geeks4Life That explains why my permanent homebrew installation didn't even get wiped after I updated.
This update was purely for GDPR reasons, no joke. Even though the US and JP consoles got updates too, it mainly affected EUR consoles.
