Re: Rumour: Switch Pro Was Real But Got Cancelled, Claims Digital Foundry

JazzyBeat

@DaniPooo You accused me of only caring about graphics and were being a prick with your earlier response. Don’t put words in my mouth. And like I mentioned before, the Switch is the console I essentially use only to play Pokémon now, and while the graphics weren’t great, the performance issues were horrendous. GF was primarily at fault for their incompetence, but there’s no doubt the outdated hardware has to shoulder some of the blame.

@NintendoWife In my case, the Switch has been relegated to only play Pokémon games, which also struggle on it (though Game Freak is primarily to blame there). As great as it would be to have games to play on the go, they look like crap compared to their PS5 counterparts yet often COST THE SAME. If it isn’t obvious, I think that’s robbery given the difference in quality of the same games. Of course this only applies to 3rd party games, but even Nintendo exclusives struggle at times (Xenoblade 3, Bayonetta, Pokémon Scarlet/Violet). But yea, many Nintendo fans just don’t care about this and Nintendo knows that, which is screwing over the fans that actually care.

Well I’m not surprised that the Switch version is far inferior. Until Nintendo starts giving a crap about what the docked players want, 3rd party (and even Pokémon) games will continue to look like games from a couple generations ago. Let’s see how Pokémon looks, because based on what some people who’ve played it already have said, it runs poorly.

Re: Nintendo Reveals A New And Colourful Splatoon 3 Switch OLED

@Bret Sorry, instead of Nintendo not caring about their hardware, I should say they don’t care about their 3rd party games. Ffs, gaming now and back then is leagues apart in terms of how much of a difference hardware makes for game developers. I hope more game developers back out from making AAA games for the Switch instead of releasing crappy and inferior ports of them. They’re an eyesore. If you don’t see that as a problem then idk what to say.

I'm sick and tired of this bs. Nintendo sheep will buy anything Nintendo throws at them it seems, even if it's disgustingly underpowered for today's standards. I hope more third party developers just boycott the Switch until Nintendo actually starts caring about the quality of their hardware. Heck, some games are already backing out from releasing on the Switch even though they said they would.

Re: Nintendo Shares Updated Release Schedule For 2021 And Beyond

JazzyBeat

Kinda surprised at the lack of excitement for Pokémon Legends Arceus. Anyway, that’s the only Nintendo item I’m looking forward to out of that list, since the Switch OLED is the biggest disappointment from Nintendo in a while imo. However, I’m worried that:
-The game is being rushed
-The game will run as poorly as Hyrule Warriors on the severely outdated Switch and Switch OLED hardware

Re: Round Up: First "Hands-On" Impressions Of Valve's Steam Deck - How Does It Compare To Switch?

JazzyBeat

@Heavyarms55 If the Steam Deck sells well (which I think it will) and cause Nintendo to rethink how it goes about treating its customers asking for more from their hardware (which I think it won’t given that the joycon issues haven’t even been addressed) then this would’ve been a game changer. I’m rather frustrated with games like Hyrule Warriors running like crap on the Switch, and given that Nintendo is releasing the disappointment that is the OLED model in a couple of months I don’t think we’ll getting a more respectable upgrade from Nintendo anytime soon.

Re: Why Pokémon Sword And Shield Got DLC Instead Of A Standalone Follow-Up

JazzyBeat

I’m all for the DLC route for the right price. However, Pokémon SS + the DLCs ended up costing us over $120 CAD. It also doesn’t help that the DLC (especially the Isle of Armour) were lacklustre. I liked the fact that the entire area was like a wild area with a controllable camera, and the legendaries in Crown Tundra were great, however there needed to be more of a story for it to be worth what we paid for. Let’s hope that GF figures it out for the next entry in the series and gives us a more complete game, rather than the half baked game we got.
