Re: Random: Valve's Latest Steam Deck Trailer Briefly Shows A Switch Emulator

HeHateMii

@Prapper Respectfully disagree.

Yuzo primarily is used as a means to infringe copyrights (copyrights owned by Nintendo). I agree that this ad alone is not enough to survive summary judgment — but it certainly gets Nintendo in the door. Specifically, it allows Nintendo to plead in its Complaint that Valve is liable for contributory infringement because it encouraged its users to infringe Nintendo's copyrights by advertising the use of Yuzo (a ROM whose primary use is to infringe Nintendo copyrights) on its Steam Deck. Such allegations certainly get past a Rule 12(b)(6) Motion and entitle Nintendo to discovery on (i) all data showing infringing and non-infringing uses of Yuzo on Steam Deck; and (ii) all ESI relating to Valve's knowledge of the use of Yuzo on its Steam deck for infringing purposes.

@Stocksy But you are wrong. Using the word "Math" is not incorrect or butchering the English language. The word "Math" is in the Oxford English Dictionary.

My advice to you is to be less sensitive and xenophobic. It is good for the blood pressure, and you will be less likely to let your prejudices lead you to make erroneous comments.

Re: Another Fan Claims To Have Reached Nintendo Switch's Maximum Hour Count

@Stocksy Math is correct in America. Maths is correct in England. Both countries speak English but speak different dialects. This is not difficult to understand.

Also do not give me "The English language. I’m English. It’s correct." It's unavailing. The English language spoken in your country is far different than it was when the American dialect started to develop centuries ago. I never heard anyone from England ask me "wherefore art thou HeHateMii."

Re: Video: The 21 Best NES Games Of All Time, As Rated By The Nintendo Life Community

@kingbk I agree that you appreciate NES games more when you grew up playing them but I think very little of that is because of nostalgia.

It is more because so much of the innovation in this games has been copied, used, and improved in future games and now is taken for granted. The ability to choose your boss order in Mega Man was mind blowing when it released. So was the first time you burned a random tree in Zelda and found a secret cave. I remember when that happened my brother and I spent hours burning every tree we could find looking for more caves. Now, these are taken for granted and are even looked down upon because there are more user-friendly ways to, say, hide a secret cave.

@holygeez03 The time shall come. When the Gate of Darkness is cast open. All men shall knell before me. All shall hail me, Ashtar, as their new master.

Very disappointed in the voters. This might be one of the worst lists I have ever seen. Castlevania III (arguably the of the series), TNMT, Double Dribble, Mega Man III (again, arguably the best in the series), Duck Tales, Life Force, Contra (perfect game), Spy vs. Spy, Skate Or Die, Blades of Steel.

Also, ignore the captions. For example, Ice Hockey is a great game regardless of whether you are a hockey fan. The epitome of less is more.

Re: Controversial Rising Sun Design Removed From Street Fighter II's Re-Release

@johnvboy Yes. If, under a swastika, a 6 million jews were systematically killed and burned (forbidden under judaism), and many more jews were abused, displaced, publicly humiliated, and tattooed (also forbidden) and almost an entire continent of people were killed, abused and plundered ... people are going to see the negative. It's not "funny." It's a fact and it makes perfect sense.

Maybe after a few generations we can be more philosophical regarding the origin of the swastika. Though the now-negative connotations regarding the swastika is the least of problems stemming from Nazi legacy.

Re: Fans Left "Disappointed" At Developer Atooi's Attitude Towards Chicken Wiggle Switch Kickstarter

HeHateMii

@Raylax "Donating to a Kickstarter doesn't entitle you to anything. All it promises is that the recipient will attempt to fulfill the goals of the project. That's it. No guarantees, no deadlines. If the project takes forever, or falls through, that's the gamble of backing something on Kickstarter and you knew that going in."

This is precisely the reason why Atooi should be regularly updating its backers on the progress of the game. Very little is guaranteed to backers of Kickstarter projects, so it is very important for companies to maintain a strong reputation that it will deliver on its promises. The way this project has been handled is hurting Atooi's s goodwill. Who is going to want back any future projects by this company if it will result in delays, lack of updates, and angry posts from the developers?
