BRAID is the most promising title of the above. Like rainbowtick - I have always thought it to be a very interesting game to play. All other depends on the reviews - there has been a lot of disapointing titels in april (and marts).
I know - the game is outputting at first. My advise is:
1) get to know the controls (it should take aroun 15-20 minuts at most).
2) shoot at the Apples? In the first room and shoot enough to make the Walls shiver at the right, and in the bottum. Thats the sign you Can jump through them.
3) Try to advance to some of the first rooms. (Jump through the Walls - stand on the oposing Wall, and jump through the shivering Wall). Try examine how the enemies react to you shooting at them, and find out how you Can make the walls shiver.
4) Make through the first 4*4 rooms and find the camel/key to open the next section.
5) continiue through the next 4*4 sektion - the same Way.
6) begin to find out which room of the first 32 you would like to awoid most, which room you Will get the highest score in - and therefore would use as Long time in you can. And where can you let som walls unopen, so you can go back and fill up your energy.
Don’t give up. ANCIPITAL is among my favorite shoot-em-up off all time. There is a tactical beauty whitin this beast.
If ANCPITAL is part off the collection, I Can really recommend this title. It Can be a litteratur ofputting to start, but if you come to around 1/3 in the game, you Will find it’s having a really well done tactical element, where you Can plan your rute - and it’s fun to plan. It’s a game with a 10*10 grid - where you Can take “any” route you like. You Can open each Wall between Two Roms - bur only from one site. Each time you are opening a Wall you get some energy back. Some Rooms is a “walk in a park” others are “killing zones”. In some rooms your score is boosted - others give you nearly nothing (and it isn’t depending on difficulty). So which room do you leave with 3 unopen Walls to come back to, to restere your energy? Witch rooms do you open enough doors to continuing. There are also some “Keys” you need to collect, to open to new areal. It’s one off the best tactical games I have ever tried/completed. An it is a shot-Them-up.
It must be possible to produce a digital cover (to print) and perhaps instruktion/booklet and led those who are interested buy: a blank cover and cart, where you Can download the game to. The only thing which you are missing is the possebility to lend/swap games with friends. As I recon that it have to be able to recognize the consol it’s downloadede to.
I Will always feel i’m missing something essential, if i’m not have some physical copy of my games. And i Will be Wellington to pay a higher price to make it possible.
Definitely SUBNAUTICA. Would love to play this game as a first time experience. The Number of times I didn`t dare nearing some of the first creatures, in fear of being killed - wauv.
Today I have been playing mostly SUBNAUTICA. So far I have been playing the game over 225 hours, and beginning to see the end to it - I think. It's One of my all time favorite games. Really brilliant.
And I have been playing HUNTDOWN to get some alternative experience. I haven't come so far in this game. And after My vacation I'm playing from start again.
SUBNAUTICA - probably the best switch game I own. I know It's called a survival-sim, but It's just as much a exploring game - and a brilliant One of those. HUNTDOWN - just bought the physical version. And I think Clear River have done it very Well indeed. Both the game and the package.
I have been playing SUBNAUTICA. Wonderfull game, can really recommend it. And a little; STEAMWORLD DIG 2. Also a good game - but perhaps a little to easy and short, to really capture me.
This is a brilliant game. Anyone who like exploring, and survival enviroment is in for a Real threat. Find the review spot on. The pop-up is by no means a problem. They are rare and not very important for experience the game.
I have been (re-)playing STEAWORLD DIG 2 and have just started on SUBNAUTICA (Switch). The later is very promissing indeed, and I'm even not that experienced in the survival-genre.
I have completed the game ones, and really is in doubt how I should "Judge" the title. As an experience it is great. It has One of the best stories encountered in any game (only the original Gabriel Knight way back from 1993 is close), and the way it is told, by picking pieces up here and there, which you have to put togheter is kind of laying a puzzle. It has an Fantastic atmosphere, and Sound effects/speak second to none. Especially the Wholeness (maybe wrong term), is a pleasure.
But as a game, where you are challenged, can make choise which matters, been frustrated, and trying out different tactics, I'm a little disapointed. There is a little exploration-element, where you have to navigate by map and compas, but I wish there could be a 'hard mode' where you wouldn't was as guided, as the game nearly is insisting on. There are - as far as I can read on the net - some secret you can discover, but I would have loved been intrigued to those by some hints in the game. (Maybe the hints is there, and I haven't found them yet. But I have "solved" minimum 1 secret, which there were no hint for, at all.
I do hope, Campo Santo make there next title a little more challinging, but by developing the Walking sim, to be more Challenging but with "the same" experience value.
In TOKI TORI 2+ you can open the original Gameboy version of TOKI TORI, by making a special whisleblowere-song. (Google the backside of the physical version).
Thimbleweed park is a great point-n-click adventure. The puzzles is really Well design. The story is good - but not great. Having 5 characters and a whole bunch of Easter-eggs to earlier Lucasart point-n-click adventures means the story is a little fragmented. But I had lot a fun while playing it. The jugdment of the story is more an afterthought.
Victor Vran is a great game. Even though I'm not experiented in the genre, I would rather Call Victor Vran for a hack'n'slash game, than an action roleplaying game. But there are still a lot of weapons, options and Ways to interact with your character. But since you can't choose a specific character, but can take Victor Vran in every direction you wan't, I find the Role-playing element being on the light side. .
I'm hopeless at games like shcumps and other games, where reaction, koordination and fast reflekses is essential. (But some of them is still fun to play).
Games where puzzles, patience and brainpower is the main gameplay, I'm ok.
Sometimes a replay a game, but very rarely these days. I have been playing since the Commodore 64. Back then most games you had completed could be replayed in an hour or less. It diden't seem like a big deal. And then I was younger.
Today It's much harder to determine, when a game has been completed. For instance Victor Vran. You Can complete the main quest, without completing all the sub-quests. Is going back, to jump in and try beating a single sub-quest = replaying. Then I do. When A game has "more to offer" than the first playing allowed to show you, then I like to replay a game. But I'm not sure I ever play Victor Vran from start to end. It's to repetive in gameplay, for that. (My taste).
But replaying a game today - just to go back to the same experience is very, very unlikely I would do that today. The games take much more time, and even though the can be a great experience, I doubt, it can beat the first One. All the surprise is lost.
I have played TROPICO 6 - and I'm loving it. It have been a long time since I have played a City-building games. And the political issue in this game is really leveling the strategy-element.
This game is a little piece of magic. If puzzles is your thing, then pick this game up. I have given this game 9 out of 10. What Keep me from giving 10 is; The scope of the game is a little shortcomming The story - Well I wouldn't Call it that.
If you like platform puzzlers, this One is a sure choise. One of the best I have played/completed. It is a little Slow at start, but if you is a little patience, your Brain Will soon be to busy to notice the pace.
