Re: Publishers Are "Thanking" Nintendo For Game-Key Cards On Switch 2

Elldot

@Andee I had this same thought as well, but I think with the high cost of the new SD cards it may bother some when they need to delete/redownload etc to prevent needing to spend the extra money?

Also, something that can’t really be understated, switch was the only console where you could buy a game, put it in and it just play right away. For kids and people on road trips/travelling etc, this was a pretty unassuming thing. It’s a portable device, the carts sort of need to work when not tethered to the internet right?

Re: Silksong Is "Not In Dev Hell" According To Playtester

Imagine if this is finally released and it’s revealed it took so long because it’s just absolutely HUGE. Properly gigantic with multiple playable characters and hundreds of optional bosses.

I don’t know if that would be a good thing actually.

Maaaan this takes me back! I worked in Game from around 2006 to 2010. I wish I had bought so much more of the rarer ps1, GameCube and Gameboy advance games that went cheap at the time… I had completely forgotten the 360 disc burn in thing, and luckily left just as they started pushing the insurance stuff a bit too much and before mobiles and skylanders took over! Had fun working there during my uni days though.

Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Surpass 10 Million Sales In First Three Days, Setting New Nintendo Record

Elldot

I have 2 young children (5&8), who have become a bit pokemad in the last year or 2. Helped obviously by the fact I have nearly every game and gave them my old 3DS/gameboys/retro handhelds etc (which also helped with their reading/writing enormously!)

When Scarlet/Violet was released I worried about them watching videos constantly slagging the games off, as they are very excited to get them for Christmas, but they were adamant I show them some gameplay videos and stuff because they couldn’t wait. Whilst watching these ‘performance reviews’ all they could say was how much they couldn’t wait to play them, how cool it looks and which starter they would pick.

These are very popular games for people of all ages (including me!) but for those lamenting these sales figures, let’s not forget that these are largely aimed at children, and it’s before Christmas, and that’s a very very lucrative demographic.

Re: Video: Our Video Producer Showcases His Top Five Rarest Games

Elldot

I’ve got a few boxes of random stuff that’s become rare over the years, but what’s really surprised me is…

Solatorobo is worth something?! I’ve got that sealed somewhere in a random box of other stuff in my loft… PAL version though.

I did get the collectors Ed of all 3 ‘operation rainfall’ games on Wii, along with a slipcase and art box to put them in from HMV and some collectible coins for them. I thought that was bound to be worth a bomb in the future!

It’s not.

Big fan, have played every game in the series, and super excited to play shield next week.

Look, I get why ‘die hard’ fans are disappointed, but whenever I hear about stuff like this it reminds me that a load of ‘videogame communities’ are still kind of... completely pathetic and full of creepy weirdos?

I think I play games for different reasons maybe. Like, if it’s a bad game generally I would probably just not finish it and sell it on, I wouldn’t need to start a hashtag ffs.

Re: New Yo-Kai Watch 4 Characters, Explorable World And More Revealed

Elldot

Only just got into Yo-Kai through 3 on the 3DS. It’s such a fantastic game, I can’t wait for 4 to get announced.

With how limited the release of 3 was, I can them not bothering though. There’s a LOT of localisation work in these games.

As someone who initially dismissed the series, I urge anyone to actually give it a go.
