I love my Switch. It’s my all-time favorite console of all time. I just want stronger hardware. I love the form factor and hope they don’t reinvent the wheel the next time.
Already first in line at my local GameStop. I’ll be darned if I go through what I did last year to get an NES mini. Seven tries at Target at 3am. That’s not gonna happen this time. Just over 14 hours to go...
I hate to say it but I probably won't be buying it when it comes to Switch. And this is coming from a grizzled veteran of SF2Turbo on SNES. Why not bring SF5 or at the very least SF4. They brought that one to the iPhone for goodness sake! They've milked SF2 enough and I'm done.
I never owned a Wii U. Personally, I'd love a few more ports of games I missed like Mario Maker, Smash Bros, DKC Tropical Freeze and more. If you sunk hundreds of hours in MK8 then I understand but many people didn't buy a Wii U. So Nintendo has a reason to port them.
On thing that bugs me is that Nintendo releases very few toys based on their products. The ones they do release are usually stuffed animals and retro "gear".
For example, my four year old son fell in love with the Guardians of BOTW. He calls them "walking-turning bad guys". He wanted a toy guardian for his birthday but Nintendo makes nothing except for the Amiibo. Of course that Amiibo is sold out everywhere in the US and I had to pay a scalper double the cost just to get it. Also, it has that plastic disc on the bottom. Now, my son LOVES that guardian and totes it around everywhere. Why doesn't Nintendo release real action figures? I'd buy those in a heartbeat.
I used to play Minecraft on my PC. Awesome times and even got a bit addicted (or at least my wife thought so). I'll probably pick it up for Switch to introduce it to my 4 year old son.
I got one but only after using stock trackers, five different tries at Target, and getting over there at 3:30am each time. Now I'm boxing it back up as a collectors item. In ten years this things gonna be worth some cash.
ARMS looks like a lot of fun and is one of those games I can let my 4 year old play with me without worry. I just wish they'd give us more details on the game. What are they hiding it for?
You guys complain too much. I'm still playing BOTW. 200 hours into it and I've just now finished the Divine Beasts. I'm currently exploring areas I've missed. Then I'll finish all side quests, I'll collect all korok seeds (or poo), and do a speed run. whew Maybe I'll buy another game a couple years from now.
We're only four weeks into the Switch's life cycle. Given the track record with Nintendo consoles, big 3rd party publishers have a right to be skiddish. I'm giving it until E3. If there are no major AAA 1st and 3rd party game announcements at E3 (and I don't mean rehashed Wii U ports) and/or no Virtual Console, then I'll have some problems.
However, if the Nintendo Switch is selling as well as we think it is, 3rd parties will be there. That's the rule. They go where the money is. They ported all the Call of Duty games to the Wii for goodness sake.
Haven't we had this conversation already? I docked mine a hundred times with no issues. I think the few who have scratched them (with less and less coming out every day) did so by being careless or by having a faulty dock (i.e. warped due to manufature or shipping). This is turning into a witchhunt.
If you're all that paranoid about your dock scratching your screen then get a screen protector. I do have a tempered glass screen protector on mine but only because I like the feel of glass and an oleophobic coating. It makes the touch experience so much better. But I just got it two days ago so I've been docking it without one.
Also, if the dock has damaged your Switch, don't go blasting it on the internet. We can't help you. We can't replace, fix, or otherwise do anything to your Switch. All we can do is soak in the drama of this "horrible oversight of devastating proportions". Contact Nintendo.
And Nintendo Life: Why are you still doing stories on this?
Looks like absolute crap. The same old game over and over again. Why does sonic have to be on some racetrack? Also, why does Sonic have to hit "boosters" to go faster? Those weren't in the 2D games. Why can't you make a free-roaming sonic game with physics-based movement, Sega? Oh wait...your fans did it for you with Sonic Utopia. You even had to get your fans to make a new 2D Sonic with Sonic Mania. When the fans are making better games than the actual multi-million dollar studio there's a problem.
Been docking and undocking a hundred times since launch. I've had no scratches at all on my screen. My guess is people aren't taking the care to dock it properly and are instead just throwing it in with reckless abandon.
That said, I did order an anShield tempered glass screen protector. Only because I like the feel of glass and it has an oleophobic coating like phones making for a smooth touch experience (The plastic screen is a bit grippy).
I live in the US. I just showed up at 3am to the Target and got one. It was my 4th try. If you want one, then you can get one; you just have to work for it.

IGN gave it a 10. Performance hiccups pushed it to a 9? Graphic whores.

They should do this with sonic games.
Re: Talking Point: Are You Ghosting Switch 1 To Save Yourself For Switch 2?

@Bolt_Strike Nintendo’s first party software is the unique hook. I just don’t want this “tock” to be another Wii U.
Re: The First Hands-On With Sonic Frontiers Has Dropped
Even the music at the beginning was literally the BOTW theme chord progression. Did they really think we wouldn’t notice?

Re: New Pokémon Snap Will Feature Online Play, But What Will That Actually Include?
Why Nintendo hasn’t made a full and complete 3D RPG Pokémon on consoles is beyond me. Imagine BOTW but Pokémon. SMH.

If it has Symphony of the Night, I’m 100% in with this. By far my favorite in the franchise. If it doesn’t then no buy.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE it’s getting harder and harder to defend why you don’t have a Switch my friend. Just give in. Don’t lie. You know you want one.

I'm actually more interested in this than Spla2oon. Of course I never owned a Wii U but I did play during the global testfire.
I think ARMS will win big with the non-gamers in my household. I just hope there is true depth to it.
