The game looks fantastic for a Wii game - although this is no real surprise, because the previous game The Umbrella Chronicles was one of the better-looking Wii games.
Still focusing on the game's Resident Evil 2 scenario, the trailer shows many familiar faces and places from the original game. See if you can recognize them all below:
We've also uploaded a bunch of new screenshots in the game gallery.

I can imagine there's a lot of Resi fans that are very excited by this right now.
Man. That actually looks pretty damn good!
Looks good.
Looks like more "fun on a bun"!
Tantalising. I still need to get my S ranks in UC which is a nicely done game.
this looks awesome!
loved the first game
zombies are old and its on rails WHY WHY WHY i agree with blaze it should have been a re-imagining of res evil 2 from scratch wii specs and optermized controls over those of res evil 4 wii
on rails what ever I HAD TO GIGGLE WHEN LEON SAID ITS BLOCKED WILL HAVE TO GO BACK
OH MY GOD A ON RAILS GAME WERE YOU BACK TRACK DONT CONFUSE THE CASUAL WII OWNERS CAPCOM
ROLLING MY FOOKING EYES
Looks great! I hope you can pull off head shots a little easier this time. Not everyone has perfect aim!
If it's on-rails... There shouldn't be back-tracking.
They just need to remake a RE with the new engine specs of 4/5. I would say port 5, but it will look terrible, and the game's forced co-op system is ridiculous... And somehow Capcom would find a way to keep your partner in the game... But nix multiplayer entirely for the Wii.
Yeah I'm drooling already. @wiiboy zombies can't get old they're undead.
Very nice graphics. The lighting is particularly good. I don't have a problem with horror shooters as I think they are great in making sure the player will take the most stupid route possible exposing him to the horrors to come.
on rails = TOTALLY my genre...love the limitations, makes for a good blend of memorization and reaction, and lends itself to excellent co-op (although RE5 re-evaluated the concept of 'excellent co-op')...UC was quite simply one of the finest examples of the genre, and this one seems like it will improve on UC's greatness.
Honestly never seen the "huuuge" difference between on-rails and 4's non-rails..., "more like RE4!" means back-tracking, running out of inventory space, and Ashley getting herself killed. It was a good game, but the arcadey-ness of UC just seems to make them more fun to come back to, not to mention waaay harder than anything 4 had to offer imo...still working on 100% completing UC, whereas my original playthrough of 4 was on Professional, and wasn't particularly challenging.
You rails-haters are the reason no one bought Dragon Quest: Swords, and that game rocks! Being serious--I liked it. Give on-rails a try...they really are a lot of fun.
RE5's co-op NOT ridiculously-engaging? Are we playing the same game? First run of RE5, online w/ friend = some of the most fun gaming I've ever experienced. Period.
RE5 = RE4 minus tard-Ashley, backtracking ad-nauseum (read: walking through empty environments for 2/3 of game), and inability to enjoy weapon system due to inventory/item switching constraints. Also plus best graphics on a next gen system imo.
who wears short shorts?
I never liked RE gameplay (except for 4's that was ok), but I like its story, so now I can get to know all RE story by playing two great on-rail shooters, YAY!
Looks pretty nice, but I'm more interested in the new and improved Spyborgs! (Not really an RE fan, outside of 4)
ok it look better than the 1st UC and a lot faster too which was my main problem with the first
Don't care for on-rails but I may check this out.
AWESOME TRAILER!
Intensity x4! I love Umbrella Chronicles (just unlocked Ada's chapter today) so I am psyched for this...and the other RE wii games coming this year.
@wiiboy-Please lay off the "fooking" caps lock. Also, that CAPCOM should make new RE ports that only have graphical updates is really stupid. Why would anyone buy that over what is actually a new game (such as this?)
Awesome trailer. On-rails shooters are just as fun as the normal fps imho.
Didn't notice anything from Code Veronica on there but I'm assuming it's in. Unless that shot of the zombies coming out the ground is from it? I can't remember any scene in RE2 where it's raining and zombies are coming out the ground in what looks like a graveyard - but that happened in Code Veronica.
Code Veronica and an entirely new chapter are both confirmed to be in the game already, but they haven't shown anything from them yet. My guess is that there's a handful of new rooms in the RE2 segments (Which would also hint heavily at a possible RE2 remake).
To be honest, this game looks amazing. I just recently revisited Resident Evil Gamecube version and it's still as terrifying running out of ammo as usual. I still completed the game luckily in 3 hours 48 minutes on a first go in a long long time. And you can't call RE Gamecube game a revision only on graphics. The original never featured Lisa Trevor or the creepy woodslands or Crimson Head zombies, which are utterly terrifying. All in all, RE Gamecube features many pluses the original couldn't support. The only downside is that multiplayer is still not utilized in the great way that it should be.
