@Supadav03 Miracles have happened, especially with games that seemed almost impossible to port to Switch. I sure hope it makes it onto the Switch, though. Suikoden I is one of the best RPGs I have ever played, until I finally play II that is.
I was beyond excited when Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version was to be released the same day the 3DS eShop launched. The cancellation was and still is disappointing, but after 9 years, I have made peace with MML3 not becoming a reality.
When I heard about Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem, I was beyond excited. The excitement quickly turned to disappointment after a lengthy period of radio silence and then the reveal of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. As a fervent SMT fan, I was hellbent on hating the game. After hearing positive things about the game, I eventually folded and picked it up close to its release on the Wii U and, much to my surprise, had a lot of fun. I will state the following: 1. The game's story is fairly negligible. 2. The characters adhere to longstanding tropes, which can be grating. 3. The game suffers from pacing issues, primarily in the later sections when you have to backtrack a bunch. These points may sound like huge detractors, but the combat and progression of your characters is the very engaging and fun. I found myself spending hours fighting enemies and expanding my arsenal of skills to make more impressive sessions in combat. Progressing the story felt like more of a secondary concern.
People who feel strongly about the censorship of this game have a right to their opinion and their refusal to spend their money on a censored game is perfectly valid. Honestly, I could not care less about the censorship. Yes, censorship is a bad thing and the way this game was censored is downright silly, but it did not impact my overall enjoyment of the game. I held out with hopes of this game being ported to the Switch and I am quite glad it is almost here.
I played this game with headphones on and the lights off, which was not a wise decision. Do not be fooled, this game is surprisingly scary. It is not exactly full of jump scares, but rather an unsettling premise and atmosphere.
There are a few nice deals here, but the shipping cost alone makes it not worth it. FFIV for the DS is $10, but the shipping is $8 and that is super saver (5 to 10 business days). Nice try, Squeenix.
Wild World is honestly my favorite Animal Crossing game. I have very fond memories of opening it on Christmas Eve way back in 2005 and being overjoyed.
I still wish Nintendo had the sense to listen to fans and put the GBA and 3DS games on the 3DS eShop. Anybody here remember the Ambassador Program? I still have 10 GBA games on my 3DS, while most 3DS owners have none. Inazuma Eleven for North America is essentially a DS ROM running on the 3DS. The 3DS is more than capable of it, so what gives?
Streets of Rage 2 is just perfect. It is one of the few games I never get tired of playing. I hope this keeps this ball rolling for even more awesome Sega 3D classics, like Shining Force.
I have been waiting forever for a new Custom Robo game, but it seems like Nintendo has pretty much forgotten about that franchise. This seems like it could possibly fill that void, though.
@WaddleDeeWeegee I am not sure if this is a trend in Japan with games, but there is an SNES game called "Shin Megami Tensei if..." In this game, you choose one of four companions and are locked into their path once you pick who is on your side. I think the "If" merely describes that there are a number of scenarios that exist within this universe. After all, the player's actions have much more impact this time.
@Tops Absolutely! I started with Persona 3, one of many spin-off games in the Shin Megami Tensei franchise. It is somewhat different from Devil Survivor, but helped act as a gateway into the SMT universe. All the games are great, but Devil Survivor 2 is not a bad place to start. After all, many ideas and mechanics from other SMT games are present here. Have fun!
@Tops You can now choose what difficulty you want at the beginning of the game and you can change it any time. Honestly, I am finding the standard difficulty to be fairly mild. There is an abrupt difficulty spike later on, but if you are used to playing RPGs, you should be fine. I was worried back when the original Devil Survivor came out, but picked it up really quick. Since then, it became one of my favorite games! Hopefully this alleviates some of your concern.

I would definitely say if anybody has any interest in this game, pick it up day one! Etrian Odyssey games have a tendency to hold their value, at least the physical copies. Retailers like Gamestop only get copies in based on reserves for games like this. At the very least, though, it should be up on the eShop and Atlus is known for their frequency of sales.

@Pillowpants The music is easily the best part of Saga Frontier 2. Masashi Hamauzu really delivers.

@DASchenk Depending on which part of the world you are in, Amazon has a listing for pre-orders of the standard edition.

People here keep saying "bargain bin," but it is a digital release only, sadly. Knowing Atlus, however, it will go on sale.
