@FritzFrapp Well when Nintendo showed us Mario Kart 8 we all knew it was gameplay even tho it rarely showed any actual "behind the wheel" type of gameplay. It was mostly all theater mode. So whats wrong with showing this game in the same way. They just wanted to remind us that this is the actual game engine running and not a pre-rendered video.
Dear Nintendo, Please stop putting the 3DS Template around the video. We all understand that the game is on 3DS. You dont need to just take up space with the template.
This was my most anticipated game of the year, so idk whether I should save my cash for Smash or for this. Luckily I have 2 friends that are for sure getting smash, so I could just play theirs.
@MrGawain You make a lot of good points, and I can see the whole tongue in cheek humor thing. Your right samus was stripped down and has had a good amount of sexualization, but it's always been a minor part of the game. Usually just the death sequence or a cut scene here and there. I guess what really bugs me about some of these costumes is that shes running with her ass in the air and you can see it full on with nothing to hide. I feel like Im watching soft hentai with these videos. Idk just not something I like.
Im sorry, but i cant believe Nintendo is so involved with this game. I mean I like sexy women as much as the next guy, but Id be embarrassed to play this in front of my friends, let alone a family member.
@Kyloctopus I want Ghost Recon: Phantoms on the Wii U so bad. I really like it on the pc, but I've always been a console gamer and I know I would enjoy a full paid version on my Wii U even more than I enjoy the free to play version. Plus that way Ubisoft would actually get my money. I wont spend any on a free to play.
Who is this guy again? And why should Nintendo care? They're about quality over quantity, and I don't see where the quality is. Renegade Kid has mad e some quality games, and that is why Nintendo cares and will help them. The eshop might not be filled with games, but I'd say most of the games on there are worth a purchase.
I actually kind of like this idea. I just started playing Prime 2 again and I forgot how dark and gritty it was. Especially when you read the GF troopers logs about the others going insane and turning on each other. What they would have to get right is actually scaring people. Dead Space, IMO, did it wrong in a horror aspect. Things are creepy sure, but as soon as you realize how much of a badd ass you are, nothing is scary anymore and that could be a big issue if Metroid went horror. F.E.A.R. on the other hand combined shooters and horror perfectly. That game goes from making you feel like a total bad ass mowing down the enemies in the a gun fight, to feeling helpless and running for your life whenever Alma came around. If Metroid did that, the horror elements could be very successful. Or maybe if they did a spin off game that didnt feature Samus as the main character, but maybe a GF trooper. That could be really cool.
Its great that 3DS owners get this and all, but now theyll have to develop with the 3DS in mind, and Im a little afraid that it will degrade the Wii U version. "Oh we cant have that in the game because the 3DS wouldnt be able to run that" (for ex.) I mean that was the whole reason for ditching it in the first place. Hopefully Im wrong and it wont effect the Wii U version at all, and whether it reaches its target goal, I hope it still finds a way onto our devices.
The Feels in that trailer. Looks cool. Depending on what type of game it is I may get it. Looks really interesting and beautiful. Also the voice actor reminds me of the guy in Trine 2.
I hope they use these opportunities to really get to know the Wii U hardware and eventually make their own game that really pushes the Wii U graphic power like they did with the Conduit. Would love to see a 3rd Conduit, those games were really fun, first one was my favorite tho.
It may sound like shovelware, but honstly this could be fun instead of playing a board game or something with friends. But most importantly, Ubisoft is still being supportive even after the talk of them dropping the Wii U during E3 last year
I bought the first one because it was suppose to be really good, but honestly, i thought it got kinda boring. Lots of long green tinted corridors that all look the same. Maybe if it had more exploration it would be better.
This makes me realize how fun a Nintendogs game could be on the Wii U. As a 20 year old college male student, it might be tough to keep my friends respect though haha
I'd really like to hear what Nintendo has to say and their thoughts on why EA stopped development for Wii U, even when they basically shared the stage at the reveal at E3
@Blastoise-san How cool would it be if the trophies/achievements were like the trophies from Smash Bros. Little character models that we could look at and set up in a theater mode or something.
Dropping the 360 and PS3 versions were definitely a smart move, I just hope that the Wii U version sells well. I don't see them stopping development for the Wii U because they seem really excited about the gamepad and the features they can have with only the Wii U.
Nintendo, you're already doing something completely different. The Wii U is obviously different, but you gave us that Pro Controller for a reason. I understand we want to sell to families, there is nothing wrong with that, but what about your loyal fans that keep buying your products over and over in hope of you releasing something that captivates their interests. I am the only one that plays video games in my family, I am also in college, I don't want to brag to my friends that I have a game made to play with Mom and Dad. Where are the creative minds that made Metroid, Starfox, Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, F-Zero, and so many of your "Highly Skilled" player franchises. Where are the engaging stories that make me want to play non-stop until I finish the game...
I think the term "Realistic" isnt an inappropriate way to descibe Twilight Princess. Things have higher detail sure, but the faces of Midna, Link, Zelda, or Gandorfs dont really represent a real human being
@D3athBr1ng3r187 Did you even read the article? Nintendo clearly stated that there intention would be to get people to buy or get back to their hardware. Therefore, they are not going the take the mobile route. They are sticking with Handhelds and Consoles
A Miiverse App would be nice of course, but it would also be cool for them to have a Nintendo Direct app or something that kept fans up-to-date on any news they have for us. Nintendo really just needs to step up their marketing campaign. Badly
Eh. Sorry UIG, but this doesnt look very fun. Combat looks kinda sloppy, visually, not impressive or nice to look at, just looks like a big cluster F#%&. Also only six characters...
@Guitardude7 Have you played it? The game received numerous perfect scores, they don't just had out 10 out of 10's to everyone. I havn't played it yet but everyone I've asked about it says its one of the best games they've ever played
@JudgeMethos I know! It's like they assume we only play their game. I mean I still havent finished Assassin's Creed 3 and now 4 is coming out, and theres a bunch of other games I'd like to play. How do they expect us to buy a brand new game when there are other games we want for cheaper?
I don't want it to be a yearly release, but it would be nice if they picked up the pace just a little bit. Maybe a game every 3 or 4 years at the most? That could help with hardware sales too. The wonderful thing about Nintendo is that they take their time to create a perfect game, but it's so hard to be patient for so long.
@SkywardCrowbar Agreed. Anyone looking for a new game should definitely consider this. By far one of the best games I've played in a long time for both single player and multiplayer
I really like Fox, but I hate this art style of him, he just looks awkward. I miss the Melee version of him. I also really liked the Starfox Assault version of him. @King_Boo Your right it does look like wood. Hopefully theyll fix that before the game is released
@GuSilverFlame I know that Mario sells and people like the plumber, but I feel like Nintendo is giving themselves the "family friendly console" title that they had with the original Wii. It's hard to justify getting a Wii U simply for Mario games. I struggle to give my friends reasons to buy a Wii U (even though I prefer any 3rd party title on Wii U). I know Wind Waker just came out, but thats only good for people like me that never played the orginal, or you are so in love with the game that you will spend the money on the game a second time. Nintendo can easily wow more people if they would start developing more titles that grab the attention of more than just casual gamers. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Nintendo needs Bad Donkey looking games. That may be a Dude-Bro mentality, but those types of Action games sell and raise a lot of hype for consoles.
I loved Other M, more so than the Prime series, but the Wii U needs another Metroid by Retro, badly. It was much more "American" I guess you would say, and that will help convince players to buy a Wii U. And although I loved the art style of Other M, I really want to see a dark and beautiful planet in full HD, preferably in first person. I just hope they find a way to speed up the gameplay. I know prime 3 was pretty fast, but its nothing compared to the speedy powerhouse that is Samus.
Planned on picking this up day 1 and apparently there were shipping issues and no one had it. Even Amazon wasn't shipping right away. My friend finally found a copy while on a trip and picked it up for me. I wanted to support the 3rd parties, but I'm really pissed that the game was this stripped. So far I love the gameplay. The storytelling is pretty horrid, but the sniping never gets old. Extremely sad that theres no co op to play with my friends. Id say its worth $30, but not $60
@SkywardLink98 I think a major reason for it not selling well was because of a few different reasons. 1) They had it for Xbox or PS3 2) Their friends were getting it for Xbox or PS3 3) It's a new console and not a lot of people have it. Ghosts will sell better if it gets support like the other consoles do, but sadly it probably won't...
@AMR Other M is one of my favorite Metroid games. I've been playing Metroid games for as long as I can remember and Other M was great; currently playing it again. I even liked it more than the Prime games. But your right, the visuals are pretty amazing for a Wii title.
