Great subtle references, too, though the "Don... key Kong" line made me groan. I was kind of expecting the Kongs to be riding around in a gray vehicle (perhaps a Hummer) with "RAMBI" on the license plate, though...

Rare's a shell of its former self, Nintendo doesn't need them. Why try to buy a long-faltering studio when they have the equivalent of it back in its heyday (Retro)?

I can't believe this article failed to mention Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, though, which are two of Rare's best games. Also, the last Retro game I played, post-Nintendo, was the Banjo-Kazooie interquel on the GBA, which was good, but way too short...

Happy 25th, Zelda series! Though I've never played any of the 2D outings, I greatly enjoy the 3D ones, except Spirit Tracks (which I've yet to play, unfortunately). I can't wait until Skyward Sword, and I'll definitely look into playing some of the 2D iterations sometime...
