Not going to read the article but I wanted to comment on the title. The reason Skyrim is so cheap is because it's 10 years old!
Bethesda! Stop wasting time and money on ESO and PLEASE either give (By "give", I obviously don't mean it literally) us Elder Scrolls VI or a remaster of III and/or IV! And soon!
Thanks to the $10 raise on game prices I'm already going to have to wait for a used copy and that alone could take years. But it's never going to happen if the game(s) never get released!
wait! there are only 6 GBA games on NSO? Suddenly I'm a little less angry about Nintendo joining the Wallet Rapers (a.k.a. subscription bull crap). The only one on this list that I care about (The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap) I have it for my GBA. Nintendo 64 however....
@HoldMyLimez Not all cities and towns have places where tons of people walk around. Except maybe, Walmart or your local grocery store. Including where I live and where I lived at the time streetpass was everywhere. In those places you're only hope to get any results was to drive to a place like say, McDonalds, that had streetpass hotspots (or whatever they were called) to get Miis of people who were there that day.
@frankstarr I don't know the anything about modding or anything else you are talking about. Like I stated in my original comment. I'm talking about things like the old Gamesharks and Action Replay you could buy at Walmart and other stores.
@Frankstarr clueless am I? Please, feel free to clue me in. Seriously. Please do.
I live in a small town in the middle of nowhere. By the time we hear about something, it's already been out for years. so I wouldn't be surprised if there were accessories for the Switch I don't know about
@Bass_X0 really? Can I play certain Gameboy games on the Switch? Nope. How about DS games? Nope. Even with Switch Online there are tons of NES, SNES and N64 games that aren't on there. What about Wii games? Wii U games? Nope and nope.
And lets say I could afford a subscription. Currently there are maybe 2 games I would play. But on my older systems that have the option to BUY older games, I have quite a few.
On previous handhelds the only way I knew how, was to use the "cheating" devices like the Powersaves for the 3DS which I have/had and use/used. And the Switch doesn't have any of that (Switch Up doesn't count)
Although either way I'm strictly an offline, play alone, kinda gamer so it doesn't matter anyways
How about the option to buy the bloody game instead of pouring money down the drain for a subscription.
Even if I could afford another subscription -which I recently had to cancel one and earlier this year cancel another one- I ain't paying $50 a year to occasionally play 2 or 3 retro games. Plus, Switch Online like everything else will eventually close down and when it does you lose access to games you didn't/couldn't buy.
just a fyi. i didnt bother reading anything other than the title so of the article talks about anything i wrote i wouldn't know about it
My paid subscription ends before March. I guess I better temporarily move all my Pokemon out of the PokeBank till March.
Having something like the PokeBank has been really nice. It marked the beginning of me being able to actually keep my Pokemon when I restart a game. I've never been able to before because I've never had friends, let alone friends that played Pokemon and had the equipment necessary to trade.
Since then I have acquired 1 New 2DS XL and 1 2DS so I'll still be able to trade between the 3DS games but still.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
The Shadow Temple!
That big room where Navi tells you to look out for the shadows of monsters, back then we had CRT TVs and maybe it was different for other people but the ceiling in that room was cover in shadow, you couldn't see the ceiling at all, unlike OoT 3D. Coupled with the Wallmasters, I was always scared to go into that room.
Also the entirety of the well gave me the heebie jeebies
Well, a little background first. The first Legend of Zelda game I ever played was Ocarina of Time and it wasn't till I became an adult that I had the opportunity and money to play some of the older games. I was finally successful in beating LoZ 1 (the Nintendo Switch cheat edition with the help of the rewind function), I've beaten A Link to the Past as well and the Link's Awakening NS remake.
I've tried LoZ 2 multiple times and gave up. I've read the plot of the game in the Hyrule Historia and Hyrule Encyclopedia and I think if they remade it and made some Quality of Life changes that wouldn't affect the story (like getting rid of the side scrolling and actually give you hints on where you are supposed to go and/or what you are supposed to do next) I would definitely buy it. It seems like it would be fun.
20ish years of my life has been lived in a small town in the middle of nowhere while the other 10ish has been spent in a small city.
You that live in places like New York or LA would of mistaken that small city for a small town even. And 99% of the time I'm happy with that. The town I'm currently in it takes me 5 to 10 minutes to get anywhere in town. Not that this town has much.
However the downside is we don't get to see cool stuff like those 3D billboards or any of the other latest tech! Heck, by the time we hear of any tech and mistake it for something new it's probably been out for 5+ years , therefore old news.
1. I don't need scientists to tell me how video games affect my mood.
2. with the exception of Animal Crossing. It looks like the rest of the games they tried are fast paced games that can just as easily piss you off as calm you down. If they are going to test something like this they need to choose different kinda games
MORE retro crap? I didn't spend hundreds of dollars on a game console for games that I could play on the cheapest smartphone. Which is like $30 if you go prepaid!
I wish at least Nintendo would create a filter in their e-shop so instead of looking through thousands of retro garbage -and wasting what little free time I have- for any AAA (or whatever people are calling them these days) games that I might actually want.
Where are the ones that are already put together? when I try to put back together electronics I have taken apart I usually end up failing and trashing it.
Not that it matters to me. In This day and age I only have around 3 Game Boy games and maybe 2 Game Boy Advance. It would be cool to play those games on todays TV but depending on the price of the device it might not be worth it
to the people whining about lewd games. I definitely ain't one that plays games like this but lets try and look at this objectively.
It's like movies. If the contents offends you simply don't touch it. Don't try to force it off the market. It's not harming anyone. Let's look at some example scenarios Ex: Meat eaters. How would you like it if all the vegans and vegetarians succeeded in removing all foods that came from an animal from all grocery stores? and Vegetarians? What if one day it was against the law to not have meat for every meal? Will either scenario ever happen? Probably not.
But the point of this is this: Stop trying to force your views on others. There are a bunch of us that think zombie games/movies/tv show are disgusting but we aren't trying to stop you from being able to enjoy your zombie game, vids. Just another example
im ignorant when it comes to pc gaming But I do know about Emulators and Roms in general, even if I can't always get them up and working. So, define "legally sourced Roms". and then once I have it? join that discord group and someone there will help with the rest?
Fine by me. I'm not looking forward to it. The way they did the graphics....I'm definitely not a fan of. Out of all the Zelda games they could of made a part 2, Breath of the Wild wasn't one I cared for. Maybe a prequel but not a sequel.
Hopefully in the meantime there are some remakes or ports or other new Zelda games that WILL be released this year.
I voted other. Fire is my 2nd favorite type (1st being Dragon). So when I plan on using a starter Pokemon I always choose the Fire type.
I worded it like that because the downside to always choosing fire is that it's pointless in having 2 fire types and sometimes I want a certain fire type Pokemon in my party.
So some playthroughs I'll pick one of the other starters and as soon as I catch a Pokemon that I want to use I box the starter Pokemon and leave it there
PKMN LA isn't that different as far as battling Pokemon. No one dies. You still just black out. The how is just different. And in my point of view makes more sense. let me list some things and in no particular order (words in all caps I'm just emphasizing): From the beginning you aren't allowed in the tall grass BECAUSE YOU MIGHT GET ATTACKED. If you trained real animals to fight in battles why would YOU BLACK when the animals faint/die?
And on an unrelated not. I have heard of people complaining that they took Platinum and remade it but completely different than the original Platinum.
Well guess what? you still got BD/SP Where is when they did remakes of the first gen for the Switch those of us hoping for a true remake instead got LGP/LGE. What's so great about the Sinnoh region that it got 2 different remakes close to the same time anyway?
Let the trolling begin (since what I have to say usually gets a lot of hate, lol)
@Snatcher Did you mean to attach that reply to my comment? Because what you said has nothing to do with what I said. I have no clue what you are talking about
Once again the stats are centered on how many got the Item/game/product. Not how many people got the Item/game/product and still likes it and/or didn't regret it.
Ex: I am one of those that downloaded Pokemon Unite and tried it out. HOWEVER! Did I play it more than once? No. Is it still downloaded? No. Will I ever redownload/play it again? No.
another Ex: I bought the Nintendo Wii at one point. Did I end up liking the Wii? Heck no! I hated it! All that forced (and terrible) motion crap. Which because of that the only Wii game I had by the time I finally got rid of it was Legend of Zelda. And that's ONLY because The Legend of Zelda is my favorite game series and so I stuck to it till it finally came out on the Switch and them Immediately sold everything Wii related
It's only redeeming feature was that it played Gamecube games.
At this point in time I no longer care about Netflix on my Switch. I got a TV, PC, laptop and two smart phones (one is an old phone that I keep around to use as a mini tablet kinda thing) that all can do Netflix. So less wear and tear on my Switch.
However, I'm still waiting for folders so I can organize my increasingly large game library. I'm not holding my breath on that tho.
Will some of the streetpass games were fun and Streetpass itself was kinda cool at the time. When I'm playing video games it's to relax and relieve stress and enjoy a story. So the last thing I want to have to do in order to play a game is go drive around town. So no thank you.
what really needs to happen is Nintendo needs to drop this subscription crap (at least as far as playing singleplayer games) and bring back the option to buy the game. It's cheaper that way (which is why now EVERYONE is trying to do subscriptions) and when you buy it, then it's yours for forever (in theory anyways). Instead of a couple of years down the road "oh, we are shutting this down, so.... you won't have access to it anymore, sorry, thank you for paying 2-4 times the price that the games would normally be if we let you just buy them, sucks to be you"
Delayed again? Well I guess there is a silver lining to this. My life just got busier and so I gotta be pickier about which games I buy and spend my time on and this one is no longer on the list
