@MrGawain Not at all. If you look into the intent and work of the original Core Design, this is so factually untrue. Eidos certainly pushed it but not Core. The original creator even left between 1 and 2 because he disagreed with the overall sexualization Eidos wanted.

SOMA is such an underrated game.

In my humble opinion, which counts for naught I know, this is Frictional’s best story. Bunker is their best game but SOMA is the best story they’ve ever told. It asks some very existential and, quite frankly disturbing questions.

I HATE to hear this. I liked the original Yooka Laylee, adored the Impossible Lair and am really looking forward to the remake.

@Dylansuxx oh you misunderstand me. I’m not saying don’t EXPERIENCE anything. I’m saying, or rather asking myself:

How do I best experience this in a way that helps both my wallet and storage?

The answer is go digital. When I’m done, I’m done with it unless it’s a diehard classic. But when I’m gone, what will become of my physical Mario 3D All Stars? Who cares.

I’m slowly letting go of the idea of physical games. We experience them, unless they’re a classic we rarely revisit them. And they molder and rot away eventually after we die.

Why hold onto something so fleeting? I’m letting go.

I actually bought this because I’m an idiot and after playing The Thing world for a little while, immediately tried to get a refund from Sony.

They denied it, I deleted it off my hard drive.

@HeadPirate the main problem I have in terms of the UI is it is so hard for me to see the reticle for the spot I’m currently on.

Been playing it mostly on PS5 but I did grab the Switch version too because I suck with money.

The Switch version overall plays well, just a little blurrier and a little slower, not in terms of framrate but just how things load and move with the turns. Also, you can only play small or tiny maps on Switch.

@Jiggies Probably not and if they're smart they won't. Because:

1. They pride themselves as being a family-first company and, look, I know a lot of people on the interwebs don't think or feel this way but there are TONS more people who aren't in our echochamber and see the trans issue/conversation to be ludicrous and offputting. Ask a typical suburban mom/family what they think about a trans character in a Mario game and they'll probably have a panic attack.

2. Nintendo also likes to stay out of politics and wisely so. Anytime you see the nonstop internet outrage about DEI/Wokeness/Sweet Baby Inc., you never see Nintendo's name come up and that's because they stick to point #1.

@NintendoWife If you look across history, Birdo has been repeatedly treated as "other" and basically made fun of in alot of Nintendo games. That would never fly in the West because on issues like that, no one has a sense of humor these days.

Also, GLAAD is a spotty organization at best. Dunno if earning an award or nomination from them is worth celebrating.

Legit question:

Is this a case of Nintendo being knowingly inclusive or the American-side translating the original dialogue as they saw fit, to line up with their values?

Wait, why is he saying FFVII remake and Metaphor shouldn’t be able to run on Switch 2? I thought the rumors were that Atlus held back P3 Reload and Metaphor so they could launch on Switch 2? And FFVII remake was used to demo the Switch 2 behind closed doors?

I am SHOCKED…SHOCKED I tell you, that there is so little Western-made slop on this list.

All this does is confirm Japan’s closed-mindedness to “THE MESSAGE”.

Two things can be true at once:

1. DEI/forced diversity isn’t the solution. Let the cream rise to the top, regardless of who it is.

2. People don’t need to be jackasses and personally attack anyone.

Konami, if you can throw ****ing Rocket Knight a bone and do a collection, then for the love of God do a proper Silent Hill 1-3 collection.
