You could tell which character I used all the time in the multiplayer mode, also the only reason my mum gave me pocket to buy a PS2 was because my little brother decided to smash the lid of the PS1 disc tray repeatedly into the disc drive claiming it was already broken to begin with when the lid came off. As we all know now that problem could have been recified with some sellotape.
I should also point out that I did lot of borrowing as well, Red Dead Revolver many good time spent on that game and now for my favorite quote "TNT, Why couldn't it been Bacon and Beans".
You missed the 90s dude because when I was in primary school it was are you a Pokemon fan or are you a Loser, it was that simple to be honest. Also as the years went it was all about the PS2 which I bought with my own money after saving up for a year untill 2003 I finally got my own console.
I was fortunate enough to have awesome mates who had loads of PS2, XBOX and GCN games to play after school and so my dislike of HALO began.
Nintendo's next OS will be an evolution of the one found in the Wii U, all the groundwork is done and all they have to do is create a unified online network that brings together the Miiverse, the Eshop, the Friends List, the Virtual Console Emulators and your Download Lists. Also there has been talk about the new Online Membership Program that will be replacing Club Nintendo as well so we would have to take that into account.
One Last thing in regards to Android my colleague at Cancer Research doesn't seem to get that from a software developers point of view that ISO completely kills Android when it comes to familliar hardwrae and carrying all your content over to the next IDevice, whereas Android struggles with this due to all the different standards with that OS.
Good to know that Splatoon is doing well and hopefully this will be the wake up call the industry needs concerning the stagnation of mainstream games in general cough cough Call of Boredme cough cough.

@Game-Over I think this issue started when the XBOX was was released because SEGA killed off their brand by going down the path of no return with their need to release lots of hardware with little to no support, this created an opening in the market which was filled in by both Sony and Microsoft.
Nintendo lost 3rd Party support by not supporting the CD format for reasonable reasons and that gave Sony an edge in the 5th gen. But Sony's success reached the suits at MS who panicked and jumped into the console with little to no experience with that market.
This is what Microsoft did that started the death off traditional console gaming and why I'm very reluctant to support them at all.
1) The oversimplified their consoles architecture to the point where it was a glorified PC. This made developers not put as much effort in their games.
2) Microsoft populaised the FPS genre to the point where it became too big for it's own good and they may have spent too much on marketing the FPS games to the brain dead teenager market only play games like C.O.D and Halo.
3) They populaised online gaming too much and now other companies have made this a priority shoehorning multiplayer into games that didn't need multiplayer to begin with.
4) Focusing too much on violent video games and not enough on games that are fun to begin with.
5) Making Japanese Game Developers look old fashion and tainting them with the poison that is American way of doing business. i.e Massive budgets, too much focus on graphics, being to risk adverse to innovation & fun, Guns & Violence and making the same games over & over again to the point where one market grows too much for anyone else to compete and making other types of games unprofitable.

@Kirby_Fan_DL3 It broke the mold by being a direct sequel to Mario Galaxy 1 which is something we had never seen before with the 3D Mario games, also I consider ed games that did something different even if it's breaking the 1 per generation rule as breaking the mold.

It broke the mold by being a direct sequel to Mario Galaxy 1 which is something we had never seen before with the 3D Mario games, also I consider ed games that did something different even if it's breaking the 1 per generation rule as breaking the mold.

It could happen you know, who says that Nintendo have to follow a set formula for every franchise that they make? Here are some example of games that broke the mold.
