Glad to see ARMS thriving. Would love to collaborate for a Pokken piece as well, another underground competitive community that the Nintendo community hasn't been much exposed to. Great piece!
@PlaytendoGuy Pokken is actually currently second place, only behind Marvel! I strongly believe they can do it, we just have to show lots of support as a Nintendo community, either financially or just by word of mouth, to raise awareness for the actually-not-dead competitive scene of Pokken!
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Pokken Tournament has shipped over a million, I'd imagine that Twilight Princess HD and Star Fox Zero have done decent as well. Not sure about Tokyo Mirage Sessions though.
@Kalmaro Huh? The last main-series Pokemon release was a few months over a year ago from now, and it'll be about 2 years from the release of Sun and Moon. Where are you getting these larger numbers from?
@GamerFromJump We don't know it's Gen VII, Game Freak could pull a Black and White 2 (in the sense that it was a surprise) and actually add new Pokemon mid-gen.
@Smokingspoon If this game really is cross-platform, then server population shouldn't be an issue since it's all one big collective server across all platforms.
@Spin Yo, I live in the area. Not old enough to work, but I always thought of going to their office to see what's up. Retro better be making something big. I'd be happy with a new IP from them.
@Phantom_R It's essentially running the game twofold, as the GamePad will have a separate camera angle from the TV screen. It's like Hyrule Warriors basically, that's why the FPS drop exists.
Smash is all on one screen, one camera angle, makes things a lot easier. Sakurai is still magical though.
@Highwinter Define hardcore, because as a competitive player, X and Y are objectively the best games because of how the online battling process was improved so much.
Also, as afar as I know, these games were never mentioned to be as a part of the Virtual Console service, so it's not fair to assume that it automatically is a part of it only because it's a Game Boy game, and Game Boy games are on the VC.
@Snargledon I wish, but Pokemon stat formulas are way too different to even be a thought. It'd be way too much work to reconfigure the games, or the transferred Pokemon.
@Einherjar The worst part is, on the single card game, once you choose a route, THE OTHER IS LOCKED BY A PAYWALL. They're blatantly showing you the other half of the game that obviously fits on the card, and then locks it away from you! Bad business practice.
@Einherjar Money. It is possible to fit both routes on one card, but because MONEY they wouldn't do so. Money causes so much good and bad in this world...
@Soren To be far, it looks to be much better than Awakening. I was sorely disappointed with Awakening, but I will give this one a chance. If Fates turns out to disappoint, I will most definitely wait on the next Fire Emblem release.
@Ralizah That is not how it works. Europe only gets one cartridge, but they can only select one route per cartridge and has to buy the other routes via DLC. Here in America, we have individual copies for the two Fates versions, but the effect is the same, and if you're a huge Fire Emblem fan, it's actually a plus because you can buy physical versions of both of the available routes.
Does everyone forget the horrid map design that FE13/Awakening had? That's the one reason I cannot continue to trudge through the game, I'd much rather go play Path of Radiance or Sacred Stones. Awakening bores me to tears because the game's too easy, and artificial difficulty with just raised stats and not better improved AI is not fun at all, the characters are one-note and mostly shoving their gimmick in your faces, the plot's bad, kids are forced, reclassing is broken, Light magic doesn't exist anymore, Dark magic is more of a subset of Anima magic, and a few other gripes I can't think of off the top of my head.
Over the few years between when I got Sacred Stones and now, I played a decent amount of Fire Emblem games and the whole time I thought Awakening was a great game. I was severely disappointed when I finally picked it up.
@SamirMalik Essentially, yes, Awakening did kill Fire Emblem. It ruined pretty much everything about Fire Emblem that was good. Actual strategy, not just artificial difficulty in numbers, good map design, good plot, good character writing, minor amounts of fanservice etc. All of that was thrown away in Awakening, though Fates did fix SOME things on the gameplay side, so for me it might be better.
Awakening was an utter disappointment through and through for me, though I cannot speak for everybody.
@Artwark Pretty much every console release was actually really good, while the handheld releases are also pretty good but not console level, and the quality of the recent games (namely Awakening and Fates) is definitely questionable. I want console FE back ;-;
@AVahne Shadow Dragon was not a reboot, and Shadow Dragon and New Mystery of the Emblem are perfectly great Fire Emblem games, Shadow Dragon personally being my favorite, though I completely understand people's issues with it, marking off New Mystery of the Emblem as "not good" is kind of an overstatement.

Re: Here's How Much Of Your Wii U's Internal Memory Pokkén Tournament Will Gobble Up
I'm pretty sure this game, in terms of gameplay, is nothing like Tekken and more like Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm.

Re: Pokkén Tournament Modes and Details Emerge
@MadAdam81 Sadly, I don't think so :/ That's definitely a bummer, requiring TWO USB LAN adapters and an Ethernet cable.
Re: Pokkén Tournament Modes and Details Emerge
@sWiTcHeRoO Hey switch, long time no see!
As for the Wii U connections, each Wii U will need a USB LAN Adapter, and then one Ethernet cable to connect both Wii Us.

@zool Actually, there are codes for some DLC characters in Fire Emblem Fates, such as Minerva, Marth, and Masked "Marth" (Lucina with her mask on).
Re: Target Reservation Cards Re-Affirm Fire Emblem Fates as a Dual Release for North America
