Re: Review: Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake (Switch 2) - Rounds Out The Erdrick Trilogy In Style

Blueyesowl83

@ryan_nil I was wondering too and found the answers.
So, here it goes...
On Switch there is a full game physical, 30 fps 1080p docked / 720p (640p native) 30 fps
On Switch 2 is key card, has 2 options:
Quality at 4k (upscaled, starting lower than 1440p) 30 fps docked.
Performance at 1440p (also upscaled) 60fps docked.
On switch 2 handheld mode is 1080p 60 fps (vrr on).
On the other hand, if you care for the top graphics and fps, unfortunately PS5 is the best option (unless you care mostly for portability) cause is native 4k 30 fps and native 1440p 60 fps but with better upscale 4k.

Re: Rumour: Major Third-Party Devs Reportedly Sitting On Multiple Switch 2 Announcements

Blueyesowl83

I thought that a nintendo consumer supposed to buy nintendo's platforms for the exclusivities. If there are no exclusivities then why to bother give a great amount of money and effort to play 3,4 or 5 years old 3rd party games that already been on other platforms and cheaper ?!
Besides, I don't know anyone, from this generation, that have only a Switch platform as only and main gaming platform.

At least for me that was the reason that I bought Switch Oled. Many 1st parties and some indie or AA games that didn't play or seemed better on other platforms (+ the hybrid factor).

Now, has almost 0 exclusives (at least for now) and all those PS4 era games that have been announced I have already played them on PC or PS/PS5.

Also, I don't care if companies want a cheaper way to put their games. I care only for my pocket and I can't see any real benefit from game key cards.
I have already switched this gen on digital only, but this "monster" that they call game key card it has no real purpose to exist for!

Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Director Acknowledges Performance Drops: "We Prioritized Fun And Playability"

@carlos82
I'm sure that you were writing about 1st parties. And there are not many 1st party PS5 games out these passing 5 years. The list I can assure you is very very small. So, I'm curious and waiting which PS5 or Xbox X games have performance or frame drops issues ?!

I can understand this is a Nintendo fans home but this is ridiculous...
Even Switch 1 had "miracle" ports and till '23 nothing was badly treated or released. On '24 they had the excuse that they are preparing things for the SW2 and SW1 is too old to handle anything new (e.g. echoes of wisdom).
But the truth is, as we can see this Gen on any platform, they all just want our money with 0 to barely less effort they can offer.
This gen has the baddest mind wise consumers I have ever seen in my 40 years on earth.
Cause not only they don't even tey to hide that they will sell you unpolished products but they also take a step further and are rising up the bill to 80-90€... !!!

Re: Donkey Kong Bananza, Like Mario Kart World, Was Initially Planned For Switch 1

Blueyesowl83

I'm very sure many authors and sites, like here on NL, had informing us before a year ago that devs 1st and 3rd parties already had Dev Kits so when the launch happens Nintendo wanted to be sure that will have enough games at launch.
And here we are with ppl spending over 500€ on hardware that has a single 1st party game and some rdm 3rd party titles from 3 to 5 years old.
Now, we are learning that in reality the actual "new gen" console has 0 brand new games but only upgrades of already released and/or some unrealised games that were intended to be released on the old hardware (remember 2024 that had nothing big to offer? Now you know why 😏 )
In the past Sega with Saturn took the hit that didn't have but only 6-8 titles at launch and WiiU had no support for 3rd parties.
This is the only gen that consumers are buying empty cartridges and empty consoles.

Re: LEGO Horizon Adventures Will Be Distributed By Solutions 2 Go On Switch

Blueyesowl83

For those that dreaming about Astrobot in Switch platform, let's remind them that is exclusive 1st party game and also such a game even with the speculation hardware of switch 2 it would be at least a ruined experience for it... Chopped graphics, no haptic feedback, no interactive speaker etc.

Also, Lego Horizon has much smoother graphics and 60fps !

Always is better to get 1st party and games that are made for switch from the start and not dropped ports to just fill the already overwhelming library.

No offence!

Re: Reminder: Dredge's New Expansion Update 'The Iron Rig' Is Out Now

Blueyesowl83

I played when it came out on PS plus but get bored after 6-10 hours.
I had a lot more fun with Dave the Diver, was a blast and the dlc's were free!
Complete edition of Dredge is very welcome for those that didn't bought the game on its release and for those that bought it then is a dlc bundle for about 15€.

Re: Poll: What's Your Switch Game Of The Year Of 2024 So Far?

Blueyesowl83

I haven't played much on Switch this year, but if I had to pick a Goty for it would be Paper Mario TTYD.

In general my top 5 is:
1. Stellar Blade
2. FF7 Rebirth
3. Black Myth WuKong (coming soon and I'm almost sure it will be the goty '24)
4. Astrobot (coming soon, seems to be by far the best up coming platformer)
5. Paper Mario TTYD (even as a remaster is a game 20 years old and most ppl of this and last generation didn't even knew this game, so is fine in my eyes to be a contender)

Re: Dungeon-Crawling RPG Legend Of Grimrock Is Getting A Switch Release

Blueyesowl83

@nimnio Maybe the point is that 10 to 15 years old games are costing so much more than they deserve. Even a toaster can run them... I mean, switch is starting seems more like a retro/emu console. Many great but old games ported to switch in a ridiculous prices only to see them on next month's sales go beyond half price!
If I put myself as an example I have spend so much money on switch that I started thinking that if I had bought a SD and all these ports via Steam I wouldn't have spend even half of those money.
But then again I got BotW, Totk, XB3 and other exclusives that worth every penny!

P.S. > Anyway, I don't like SD (or any other similar handhelds) but I don't like Nintendo's eshop prices either!

Re: Poll: Rate Your Favourite Switch Games Of The Year 2023

Blueyesowl83

After 1655 hours on switch this year.... My Top 5 games are:

1. TotK
2. Octopath Traveller 2
3. Metroid Prime Remastered
4. Super Mario Wonder
5. Sonic Superstars/Super Mario RPG

There were many more great games this year specially for switch like Sea of Stars, Cocoon, Star Ocean second story R, Advance Wars 1+2, FE Engage, Pikmin 4, Paranormasight, Little Goody two shoes...

Switch's era is finished... And for 2024 is mandatory Nintendo to bring Switch 2 as early as possible!!!

Re: Review: Little Goody Two Shoes - Cute, Compelling Horror With Some Frustrations

Blueyesowl83

This is a very good example that if a game is fine and made with passion doesnt need any hype or marketing to claim positive reviews.
For me was a blast... I fell in love from the start when accidentally watched the trailer when I was ready to add Star Ocean 2nd story R and that was an instant buy !
Now Star Ocean is on backlog till I finish this little gem.

8/10 overall, easilly

Re: Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 Is Coming To Switch This October

Blueyesowl83

I played MGS 1 back on PS1 of a friend and I fell in love but never got around to playing the others.
I was aware of this collection release from showcases/gamefest and in an instant thought (same goes for switch release) that MGS 1 & 2 are so fking bad ports for my aged eyes. If they'd bring the two 1st games as properly HD remakes or remasters then I would for sure have bought this collection... yesterday, but now is a BIG NO from me. Especially for this crazy high price for so fking old games that didn't bothered to at least do some "makeover" !

I will wait for a proper remake/remaster of them and I will get them on my next console.
