One game I loved that didn't use voice acting for the main character was Dragon age. And I don't remember anyone complaining about it either. I don't know why people make such a big deal over this; it never bothered me. But, I have this lost art in my brain called imagination.
I'm more excited for this game than any other game that has been released this generation (barely edging out Mass Effect 2 and Skyrim). The last six years has had the most amazing selection of masterpiece games I can ever recall (Super Mario Galaxy 1&2, Bioshock, Mass Effect 2, Fallout 3, Batman Arkham Asylum/City etc . . . . But I am even more excited for Skyward Sword. It is going to be a true revolution in gaming control and a monumental achievement in modern entertainment. And I'm getting it for Christmas!!!!!!
The original Legacy of Kain is one of my top ten psone games of all time. Remake it for the 3DS!!! Then make Eternal Darkness 2 for the Wii U! Do it. Do it now.
@Bensei Just because Nintendo didn't invent those genres, doesn't mean that Nintendo isn't an innovator. J.K Rowling didn't invent the genre involving witches, wizards and magic. But she was an innovator and she revitalized many people's love for books.
I honestly think Nintendo is going to make a game that teaches us to relax as a way to alleviate stress. Imagine how that would appeal to top level executives who's jobs are incredibly stressful. Remember the Vitality sensor? It's totally the type of thing that could bring in new gamers, the same way the balance board brought in new gamers.
@Ichabod I know exactly what you mean. I remember the first time I played the N64 and it just felt magical. I'm not exactly sure why, but I haven't had that feeling since.
I think future consoles will go back to some form of cartridges. Solid state memory is sooooo much faster than DVD/BluRay and HDD's. It's the future of PC hard drives.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thought Mario golf and Tetrisphere deserve to be honorably mentioned. In some ways, my favorite memories were on the N64. Especially the multiplayer experiences like Mario kart, Golden Eye, Perfect Dark, F-Zero, Killer Instinct, Mario party 1 & 2 and Mario Golf.
I love the Animal Crossing series in ways I love no other games. It's the only game I've ever played that actually relaxes me as opposed to requiring lightening reflexes or intense concentration. But, I'm a little worried after watching this video. I can see that the cabin set and the green set look exactly the same as always. I don't mind AC having the those sets, but they should at least change the aesthetic of them to keep things fresh. What incentive am I going to have to collect a furniture set I've had two or three times before? Still, I'm "crossing" my fingers and hoping that this game will have enough cool new items and ideas to warrant a purchase.
Never underestimate Nintendo. They have access to secret alien technologies centuries ahead of us mere feeble humanoids. Plus they have an army of cyber ninja assassins ( who wield laser katana's) protecting their alien research and development teams.
As soon as animal crossing comes out, I will purchase a 3DS. Then I will buy the new mario, mario kart, starfox etc. So yes, this price drop has made the system affordable for me now.
@James Look I'm not saying that Nintendo hasn't made some mistakes, they obviously have, but I still think they are not in a dire situation quite yet. I think Nintendo can't afford to take the same kind of risks that Sony and Microsoft can, because Sony and Microsoft kind of have a safety net in that they are connected to major multimedia business conglomerates. That's why Nintendo operates so conservatively. Iwata taking a pay cut in my eyes is just a CEO taking responsibility for his actions. The video game business really comes down to one thing. Games. And when the 3DS and the Wii U get the games, the stock will sky rocket again.
I actually wasn't even addressing you, but I can see how it appeared I went off topic a little. My major point was that I think it's a mistake to bash shooters. And that the perception of the uninformed is that we are all a bunch of fan boys. I was hoping to add to the conversation not spin it in another direction lol.
Look, I own a pretty decent PC and a Wii and those or the only two platforms play, because I can get my Mass Effect, Left for dead, Half Life, Bioshock and Fallout 3 fixes on my PC and all of my Nintendo Fixes on my Wii. I love Nintendo (alot) and it drives me bonkers to hear my Wii being called a "casual" platform.
I play all of the hardcore experiences on the Wii and there are many to be had as we all know. That being said I think it's a mistake to bash shooters and here's why. To turn around and bash other gamers for any reason is to become what we most despise. Calling a call of duty fanatic a "casual" gamer is being very hypocritical (You don't like it when people call you casual or fanboy?). Maybe COD is a casual game, so what? Why sink to the level of the uninformed gamer? My point? We all look like fanatical fanboys when we bash shooters. And perception can become reality.
And for the record I love FPS's just as much as any genre. (RPG's being my fave). But if us Nintendo fans want to change the perception of Nintendo being "Casual" only, then we should really start to embrace the idea that people love shooters and try to sell the idea that the Wii U will release the definitive version of all the 3rd party hardcore games especially shooters.
I'm probably in the minority here, but Cave Story wasn't that great. When I first played it, I couldn't get enough of it, but after a while, I got tired of dying and starting over at the beginning of the stage. (I guess I've become spoiled with modern day checkpoints.) It's not a bad game, and if you are looking for an old school experience, go for it, otherwise be warned.
Actually now that I think about it, I would loooooove to see Dragon Quest X at E3. That's still coming out for the Wii right? If Nintendo shows footage of DQX I will do a back flip.
I would like to see Resident Evil 5 on the Wii. I simply love playing RE4 on the Wii and Judging by the way darkside chronicles looked graphically, I think the Wii could make it work. And imagine playing that along side a buddy?

Re: Feature: The Best Games on GameCube and Wii
As much I like all the games on this list, I would have to unequivocally say that Resident Evil 4 was the best game on the Gamecube.

I used to think the exact same thing. Then I played Bastion and Limbo on Steam. Now I'm sold on indie developers.

Re: Iwata Shoulders Blame for Low 3DS Sales, Cuts Salary in Half
It's a little too early to count out Nintendo. They have O% debt and 14 billion in unencumbered cash. That 14 billion is spending money for all intents and purposes. According to Forbes Nintendo is a good investment right now.

I had the exact same thought. Why not just get valve to make a Wii U version of Steam.

This is disappointing and confusing news. Why would he even bother to make a video for E3 if he wasn't interested in making games for the Wii U?
