Re: Feature: One Month of Nintendo Switch - Five Improvements We Want to See

Ballzilla

@Alshain01 I would argue that if you're looking for power, the Switch is not your best option. In my opinion, the price the consumer pays is fair because you get a home/portable hybrid console with a nice screen, good build quality that doesn't break like an iPhone if dropped, two controllers, a grip and a dock with all necessary cables. The Joy-Cons are packed with features not evident just by playing Zelda.

You must agree that having a basic option for multiplayer right out of the box and being able to use it as a hybrid makes it worth more than a $300 PS4 with a memory option that won't last so long due to the mandatory installs games need nowadays. The Switch might not have PS4 graphics but the Tegra chip has never been used in a better way and the games look good.

Re: Forget Scratched Screens And Joy-Con Problems, "Warp-Gate" Is The New Nintendo Switch Issue

Ballzilla

Damien McFerran seems to be infatuated with reporting on Switch 'defects'. The bogus screen scratching stories and now this. Two people claim something on reddit and boom, that's a news story for Damien.

This ''issue'' is obviously a fabrication since it doesn't even make sense with the battery placement in the Switch.

And the dock screen scratching "defect"? Totally bogus. The dock has padding to protect the screen on the bottom front part. Disappointed in NintendoLife.

Re: Video: How To Completely Avoid Scratching Your Nintendo Switch's Screen When Docking

Ballzilla

@BeerOnTap Thank you for correcting me, another person already did that albeit in a nicer manner. Still, facts are facts. The dock has a protective pad on the place where the screen would touch to prevent the very thing clickbait articles and videos claim happens.

I know my dock is dusty, but in my defense, the flash makes it looks worse. Notice the bit on the front half of the dock on the bottom? Padding.

Bet you feel silly now, troll? If you own the Switch, check your dock with a flashlight before making an ass of yourself love.

Re: "Wouldn't That Be Wonderful?" - Reggie Fils-Aime on Cloud Services for Nintendo Switch

Ballzilla

@readyletsgo I respect your opinion, but all that could be fixed by studying Nintendo's launch history and not being an early adopter. You want Nintendo to go 3rd party? And you call yourself a fan? Give me a break. Nintendo makes the games it makes because they have the freedom to do it on their terms, on their hardware. If you think going 3rd party will keep the level of quality we see in BoTW then you're underestimating the power of money-hungry execs that will milk Nintendo like that mini-game on 1-2 Switch.

Nintendo doesn't need to catch up. If you haven't noticed, the games industry is full of touchscreen games, motion controls and casual gamers who were introduced to games with the Wii, whether young or old. Who brought those to the mainstream? Sony? Microsoft?

In the words of the great Mr. Iwata, please understand.

Re: "Wouldn't That Be Wonderful?" - Reggie Fils-Aime on Cloud Services for Nintendo Switch

Ballzilla

@readyletsgo that's the way they decided to do it and there must be a reason for it. I'm guessing they didn't want to make the entry price for consumers seem higher in the first crucial months of launch. Whatever the case, I believe there are a lot of background things going on you and me don't know about.

You seem to know a lot about other systems and claim to own them. Tell me again about how PS4 or One had all the features they have now, at launch, running like clockwork.

Congrats on owning all those consoles, good for you, that's unique and there's no way I don't own any other console or play on PC. No way. Without knowing anything about me, you say I'm a fanboy. So because of people like you, I can't wait to rub those features in. Reggie teased it. It's coming soon.

@ULTRA-64 A group of users commenting negatively on each and every article about the Switch on this website, every time, indicates trolls or just haters that have no point of being on a Nintendo news only website. Check out SLIGEACH_EIRE. Negativity just for the sake of negativity. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Mine is that these people have no intention of discussing news. They're just here to say "I called it, Nintendo is doomed, I'm right and you're wrong, I know better than actual consumers that bought the console and a successful hardware and software company".

I'm all for reporting Nintendo's mistakes. That's what news is. But when the claims are so thin on evidence with random youtubers making videos showing scratched, abused consoles, incorrect strap attachment and then proceed to blame Nintendo and ask for refunds, that's where I draw the line. This dock story was blown out of proportion and only got people with faked news the attention they sought. It wasn't even a retail version of the dock.

You're welcome to go somewhere else. I'll stay here and call out BS when I see it.

Re: Don't Buy Another Switch Dock Just Yet

Ballzilla

@freaksloan when there's fake news, faked videos that feed trolls and negative nancies alike, I tend to voice my opinion and support the truth. Like I said to may end people here, do you own the console? Are you not satisfied with the product you received? Or are you just complaining on a Nintendo news website because you don't like the company for some reason?

Re: Don't Buy Another Switch Dock Just Yet

Ballzilla

@geordie When something stinks, it stinks. Nintendo isn't angelic, no company is, but we need to use logic and not believe every Tom, Dick and Harry that abuses their console and then wants compensation and media coverage. The dock issue with postage was sad, but it will most likely get fixed by more careful packing. Either way it wasn't a retail product with a full box, hdmi and power supply. It was just the dock.

Re: Don't Buy Another Switch Dock Just Yet

Ballzilla

@Tarvaax why waste your time here then? Just send it back to Nintendo or wherever you bought it from and get your money back or a replacement Why complain about a hardware mistake as if Nintendo is Satan? S**t happens. It just seems strange that you're on a Nintendo news website being incredibly negative and gloomy, when you can clearly get a replacement for free. Every hardware launch has defective units. It sucks that you're in that percentage, but it doesn't mean it's the worst system and Nintendo is bad.

Finally about the online functionality, it will come, be patient.

Re: Don't Buy Another Switch Dock Just Yet

Ballzilla

@Tarvaax no problems with my device everything works fine. I wouldn't dispute the claims if they didn't sound incredibly suspicious. All these videos and stories have no substantial evidence and smell fishy to anyone with half a brain.

Do you own the Switch sir? Are you not satisfied with your product or are you just complaining without owning the device?

Re: Don't Buy Another Switch Dock Just Yet

Ballzilla

@SLIGEACH_EIRE @ironside1911 you do realise it's a postage problem from a non-retail version of the Dock right? Or do you just enjoy judging a system you do not own in a Nintendo-only website? Especially SLIGEACH_EIRE, all doom and gloom since day one. The Switch will never meet your expectations so why do you follow news on this website?

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Pits Nintendo Switch vs. PS4 in Dragon Quest Heroes II Comparison

Ballzilla

So I decided to check out the demo for myself by signing in to the Japanese eShop and I must say, Digital Foundry are BS. The game runs really well when docked and the amount of enemies on screen is incredible. When in handheld mode, it does take a dip but damn does it look good.

The frame rate is never as low as they show it with their off-screen footage and battling 20-30 enemies at once never feels as bad or unresponsive as they make it out to be. It's not perfect. But I would say it's acceptable because of how good it looks and the crazy amount of action on-screen. Definitely not as bad as they show in their off-screen footage.

Re: Third-Party Nintendo Switch Vinyl Skin Producer Warns of Damage to System

Ballzilla

@Jeronan Got my Switch yesterday and everything seems to work fine with the Joycons. As for the plastic screen, I watched some drop tests on youtube and after 11 hits the screen was still in one piece. I know it's not the best for scratches but I'll take a plastic screen any day over a fragile glass one like our smartphones have nowadays.

Also, I'm pretty sure I saw some padding after inspecting my Switch dock because I was also worried about scratches. Do you own the device or you just read about the dock scratch issue somewhere? I'm really interested to see why this happened and how I can possibly avoid it.

All in all, the build quality is fantastic and surprised everyone I showed it to. If you haven't gotten yours and plan to, you won't be disappointed, it's a fine piece of hardware
