Speaking as someone who have no interest in this Shin Megami Idolmaster-whatever-looking game, I'm still somewhat curious to see if the decision to 'appeal to a broader audience' pays off. To me this looks like a game that was made specifically to appeal to a niche audience, much like the rest of the SMT-franchise. Alienating and angering said niche audience by cutting out things they want to see in a game sounds like a poor business decision. Never mind that this looks like a game that would be found on a Sony console.
I'm also curious to see what new gimmick the NX will have and if it will be as big a failure as the Wii consoles. IMO Nintendo need to stop with gimmicks and just give us Gamecube 2.
I'm going to have to echo what Donjwolf and TheWPCTraveler wrote. A slow-paced management/simulation game for the handheld market sounds like excellent news, and like the poster above me pointed out none of the "flaws" pointed out in the review are actually problematic for fans of this type of game.
For all its supposed quirks it comes off as very generic. The graphics, the writing, the music, the combat system. It looks functional but not like anything special.
@mch Hellacopters is pretty much the best band ever. No question about that. Check out Gluecifer if you haven't. They are the Norwegian Hellacopters (and Hellacopters is the Swedish Gluecifer). I also much agree with your point and I hope most people do as well.
@duddy It's definitely the games that are promoting the let's players. It's literally their livelihood.
Let's Play/YouTube people whining again? See, this is why I'm extremely selective about the let's players I subscribe to.
What a laugh. "Free exposure and free publicity". Please. PewDiePie and his ilk are worried about the monetizing issue, that's all it is. They're not promoting anything (though if they really think they are, most of them are doing an extremely poor job). If Nintendo was interested in adding these people to their extensive marketing department I'm sure they would do so. As it is this program is the best they're gonna get and probably more than most of them deserve.
@Drac_Mazoku It's a series about a world where football is extremely serious and powerful business. At times very silly but very fun and enjoyable because they don't back down from taking it seriously. IIRC the third game for example envisioned a future where football is outlawed and a military organisation travels back in time to stop the nefarious hobby! It's so much fun.
Not crazy about the updated visuals (and the judge looks kinda weird to be honest). Are they fixing typos and such or are they just copy-pasting the original DS script? (As long as it's not the iOS script, I'm happy.)
I'm shocked to learn that Renegade Kid and the Dementium games have fans, even on the internet. People must be starved for first-person shooters on the 3DS but Renegade Kid's games are among the worst I've played.
Hardly surprising. The circus continues. "We encountered a few last-minute issues specific to the EU version, and we have to fix them." Does anybody know what these last-minute issues could be?
It sounds less like a "console war" or a "grudge" and more like one developer's desperate attempt at garnering attention for a cash grab remake of a bad Sega CD game (with the exception of Snatcher, is there any other type?) that holds, in my opinion, extremely questionable "cult status". More power to them, I guess.
This is a good decision. As much as I love Kyle Katarn, X-Wing vs Tie Fighter, Republic Commando and KOTOR2, this is one of those times when the bad far outweighs the good. It's a movie franchise and should be kept that way.
Pity. It seems surprisingly easy to screw up card games. At least here they could have turned up the "governor" aspect a notch and maybe you'd have a decent casual town sim/gambling game or something. Oh well.
It's interesting to bring up the Tomb Raider reboot which pretty much demoted Lara Croft from the strong, independent dinosaur-murdering baddonkey adventurer, video game icon and, yes, sex symbol she used to be in a horribly misguided attempt at turning her into a female and much less confident Nathan Drake. I actually expected people would object more to this treatment but here we are with yet another article that, although briefly, celebrates character assassination. I'm curious, what did the article writer think about Other M?
Anyway, this is my stance on the subject (and sensitive people should probably look away now): Women should be allowed to be just as ridiculously sexy and baddonkey as men, and if some people have a problem with that then that is their problem entirely. It's probably worth talking over with a psychiatrist because it's obvious that their low self-esteem is making them compare themselves to fictional characters. That's not healthy.
Please watch the profanity — TBD
Apparently I have you people to watch it for me, so thanks. Also buttocks, whether it's good or bad, is not an example of profanity that I know of. Is there a list of unacceptable words somewhere on the site that I can read?
That's a funny trailer. Very self-aware. There's no doubt in my mind that Senran Kagura is first and foremost a fan-service game and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. It's what makes this IMO solid beat 'em up unique.

Re: Gone Home is No Longer on its Way to the Wii U eShop
Good riddance.
Re: Nintendo Is Making Female Characters Cover Up For The Western Version Of Xenoblade Chronicles X
Couldn't they have covered up that face, also? I mean, yeesh, what is she, a porcelain doll? A potato?
Re: Zelda Fans Vent Anger At Nintendo of America Over Doge Memes In Tri Force Heroes
I don't get the reference, personally, so to me the American translation just looks like it's very poorly made.
Re: Review: A-Train 3D: City Simulator (3DS eShop)
@Donjwolf Thanks! Sounds great!
Re: Review: A-Train 3D: City Simulator (3DS eShop)
@MitchVogel I wasn't complaining. I understand the review is from a non-fan's point of view. Keep up the work.
Of course it must also be said that I haven't played this yet so the game might very well not be up to snuff. I hope there's a demo.

Re: Eiji Aonuma Explains Why Tingle is Such a Peculiar Character
I thought Tingle's own game made it pretty clear that he likes the ladies. Isn't there an implied sex scene (fade to black) at the end even?

@mch Which britpop band should I listen to?

I'll probably pick up Demon King Box.

Never heard of this series but I like Harvest Moon and I'm always up for a strategy RPG. Probably instant buy for me. Will wait for reviews though.

NPFC for me.
