Re: Video: Nintendo Aims to Get Down With the Kids in Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Series

Speaking as someone who have no interest in this Shin Megami Idolmaster-whatever-looking game, I'm still somewhat curious to see if the decision to 'appeal to a broader audience' pays off. To me this looks like a game that was made specifically to appeal to a niche audience, much like the rest of the SMT-franchise. Alienating and angering said niche audience by cutting out things they want to see in a game sounds like a poor business decision. Never mind that this looks like a game that would be found on a Sony console.

I'm also curious to see what new gimmick the NX will have and if it will be as big a failure as the Wii consoles. IMO Nintendo need to stop with gimmicks and just give us Gamecube 2.

@MitchVogel I wasn't complaining. I understand the review is from a non-fan's point of view. Keep up the work.

Of course it must also be said that I haven't played this yet so the game might very well not be up to snuff. I hope there's a demo.

I'm going to have to echo what Donjwolf and TheWPCTraveler wrote. A slow-paced management/simulation game for the handheld market sounds like excellent news, and like the poster above me pointed out none of the "flaws" pointed out in the review are actually problematic for fans of this type of game.

Re: YouTube Stars Aren't Happy With Nintendo's Revenue-Sharing 'Creators Program'

Let's Play/YouTube people whining again? See, this is why I'm extremely selective about the let's players I subscribe to.

What a laugh. "Free exposure and free publicity". Please. PewDiePie and his ilk are worried about the monetizing issue, that's all it is. They're not promoting anything (though if they really think they are, most of them are doing an extremely poor job). If Nintendo was interested in adding these people to their extensive marketing department I'm sure they would do so. As it is this program is the best they're gonna get and probably more than most of them deserve.

@Drac_Mazoku It's a series about a world where football is extremely serious and powerful business. At times very silly but very fun and enjoyable because they don't back down from taking it seriously. IIRC the third game for example envisioned a future where football is outlawed and a military organisation travels back in time to stop the nefarious hobby! It's so much fun.

Re: Soapbox: Ignoring The Objectification Of Women In Games Won't Make the Problem Go Away

AndymanMessiah

It's interesting to bring up the Tomb Raider reboot which pretty much demoted Lara Croft from the strong, independent dinosaur-murdering baddonkey adventurer, video game icon and, yes, sex symbol she used to be in a horribly misguided attempt at turning her into a female and much less confident Nathan Drake. I actually expected people would object more to this treatment but here we are with yet another article that, although briefly, celebrates character assassination. I'm curious, what did the article writer think about Other M?

Anyway, this is my stance on the subject (and sensitive people should probably look away now): Women should be allowed to be just as ridiculously sexy and baddonkey as men, and if some people have a problem with that then that is their problem entirely. It's probably worth talking over with a psychiatrist because it's obvious that their low self-esteem is making them compare themselves to fictional characters. That's not healthy.

Please watch the profanity — TBD

Apparently I have you people to watch it for me, so thanks. Also buttocks, whether it's good or bad, is not an example of profanity that I know of. Is there a list of unacceptable words somewhere on the site that I can read?
