Re: Nintendo Hasn't Forgotten About the Wii, Don't Worry

1080ike

I'm pretty much convinced this year's gonna be the Wii's swansong, and that they're going to reveal its sucessor in 2012. So, by that logic, 2011 and 2012 will most likely have some of the best releases for the Wii yet, however, most people will pass them by because of the new console right around the corner, and these brilliant games will fade either into obscurity or cult classic status, so that Nintendo will not be convinced to make a sequel. With a few exceptions, of course. Skyward Sword and Pikmin 3 being the most likely examples.

...And that's pretty much sealed the deal for me. Before, I wasn't sure if I was going to get it or not, but now I'll be first in line the day it releases. Good thing I've yet to play MQ, seeing as I couldn't be bothered to get the Gamecube port because my N64 copy still works.

Re: Retro Gamer Celebrates the N64 with Special Issue

Ah, the old N64... My first ever game console. I got mine way back, in '01 I think. It was used, so I don't know what happened to it with the previous owner, but it's still working after all these years. Even with the near-hell treatment I gave it when I was six. Can't say that for my DSi, or original DS for that matter. I used to be so mistreatful with my stuff...

Re: 3DS Arrives at Nintendo Life

@WiiLovePease: Yeah! What he said!
Also, please, please don't tell me the 3DS shoulder buttons are like the DSi's. They don't work on my DSi anymore, even though I've only had it for about a year. That means that Mario and Luigi, Golden Sun: DD, and a few others are either trickier to play, or impossible to complete.

Re: Cast Envious Eyes at Japanese Gamers Buying their 3DS Today

Those lucky Japanese... Getting a system a full month ahead of us poor, unfortunate English-speaking rest of world.
Though, anyone who didn't see the shortages coming obviously wasn't a gamer between 2006-2008. No offense intended.
EDIT: BTW, when's the Nintendolife import coming in?

One of two N64 games that I ever got new. I found a brand-new, unopened copy in a thrift shop one day a few years ago, and, well, the rest is history.

Re: Man Arrested for Blackmailing Nintendo with Stolen User Data

"Idiot human... does he really believe that he could get away with that? Our plan of recreating the great Kleptron will come to be, no matter what these stupid humans want to do... Mwa ha ha ha ha! They all will suffer for this insult!"
Is probably what Nintendo is thinking.
Honestly, though, that guy was being a moron. From what I could gather from the article, he was just doing it because he felt like it.
EDIT: and because he felt like being mean, can't forget that.

Re: Talking Point: Is the DS Dead at Retail?

1080ike

I think retailers are morons for decreasing the shelf space of a console that's sold almost as many systems as the PS2. Besides, I doubt that it'll die for another few years; the GBA had games made for it up until 2006, two years after the DS was introduced.
