Yesterday we brought you the European 3DS launch line-up according to Gamestation, with the retailer claiming 14 titles would launch on March 25th with the console. Now Nintendo has spoken on the real line-up of 13 games available on day one, just one shy of Gamestation's estimate.
The title missing from the list is Tecmo Koei's Dead or Alive: Dimensions, with Madden NFL 11 dropping out in favour of Ridge Racer 3D:
PilotWings Resort
Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition
Nintendogs + Cats, available in three editions: Poodle, Golden Retriever and Bulldog.
Ridge Racer 3D
Samurai Warriors: Chronicles
The Sims 3
Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D
Super Monkey Ball 3D
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 3D
Rayman 3D
Asphalt 3D
Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
This list is officially the line-up for the UK, so individual territories may receive slightly different arrays of games, but this is what gamers in the Sceptred Isles can expect to buy on March 25th.
What takes your fancy, gamers?

No games that will make me wanna buy it on day one yet. Decent line-up, though.
I hope DOA is day one but I want quite a few of those games anyway.
I'd go for SF IV, Rayman 3D and SW III: Clone Wars anytime.
bloody hell guys give ninty a break.
PilotWings is a launch title for f's sake!
Fans have been crying for a new pilotwings for years!
I am buying pilotwings, and if I have enough I'll be getting street fighter as well for all the streetpass cool stuff..
Shame no DOA but i can buy that after I complete these two
I want The Sims 3 if I buy the 3DS at launch. I'll also consider Nintendogs + Cats, Dead or Alive: Dimensions and Street Fighter IV.
Definately getting Nintendogs+cats and SSIV3D. Now that Pilotwings has been announced I'll be getting that and I've heard great things about Ridge Racer 3D from those that went to the events. Four games though. That's a lot of cash!
Shame there's not Resident Evil, hopefully it won't take too long to come out after launch.
For me it'll be SSF4 then on day one then start waiting for Resi....
PilotWings, Super Street Fighter IV and Nintendogs + Cats for me, I think. I'd better start saving up...!
I haven't played Street fighter for years, and was weighing up that with DOA, so I guess thats made it for me. SMB, Lego star wars and ridge racer might be worth a look in case there isn't anything good to follow in April. I'll wait on the reviews of pilot wings though - looks nice, but not sure if it's just an extended demo. What happened to Steel Diver? I thought that was a shoe in for day one, not that I'm too fussed.
Lots of good looking games here!
Isn't ANYONE interested in Super Monkey Ball??????
Meh. I'll probably get it later. Might get Nintendogs, Super Monkey Ball and PilotWings.
But no system-sellers for me.
@Chris77 Good point, perhaps they think it's not ready yet, which would go along with what I thought when I played it.
@moosa Sure, but sadly my pockets aren't as deep as I'd like
@James: I'm not sure about Street Fighter... I wish I tried it when I had the chance now... but I was too busy with DOA.
Neither are mine... just thought it funny nobody mentioned it in this thread or the last.
Actually, the more I think about it, I think Rayman (2) would be really awesome in 3D. I haven't played that since I owned my first N64.
@Oregano Fatal mistake! Both are really good though, I'd be getting DoA if SSFIV3D wasn't available, but it is so I'm not.
It is pretty clear that I set my hopes up way to high, because this list is decent enough, but I blew my own expectations out of proportion after such a phenomenal group of games were announced eight months ago at E3.
I'm really pleased to see Ridge Racer 3D back on the list, because I have fond memories of Ridge Racers showcasing the PSP tech back in 2005. I still feel like this is a list of my 'second choice' purchases, the type of games I would have bought after I had bought that one 'must have' title.
I can't wait for Nlife to review these games, because I am going to hold back from my 3DS game purchases until I know for sure that I'm getting a quality title. It is out of PilotWings, Ridge Racer 3D and Lego Star Wars III for me at the moment, although I have an eye on Asphalt too.
Aww...that is the cutest nintendogs cover I've ever seen...
i will be sitting outside the store all day after buying it, i have a car charger and gamestation is right next to the car park! See if i get any streetpass going on!
Street fighter seems the most logical purchase, best graphics, best features for streetpass and full online. Street fighter is back on its mother console at last!
The more of us buy it, the more fun we'll have with the system!
Great lineup. Hope the US one looks similar.
At least the addition of Ridge is a decent move... still nothing to go overboard about is there... I wonder how long we will have to wait for the games people actually want to buy!
@Gooba77 Well considering the number of people posting above you who want to buy stuff on the list, I'd say a few weeks ago.
Super Monkey Ball!! And maybe Pilot Wings. I sold my DSLite months ago so I'm still buying this day one. I've got new DS games I haven't even played yet!
I would call that list underwhelming. I don't live in Europe, but the only launch title I'd get for sure would be Pilotwings. Maybe Monkey Ball or Ridge Racer. I'm interested in Lego Star Wars III, but I'd rather have the Wii version, so I can play it (affordably) with my 6-year-old son.
I'm surprised Kid Icarus isn't a launch title. That game looks like it could be one of Nintendo's classics for the ages.
@TheSolarKnight yeah no one seems disappointed at all do they...
I really hope the US launch lineup is very simmilar, but my wallet disagrees. XD
Asphalt 3D omg @.@
Pretty weak launch day. For me personally this is the weakest launch I have ever seen, but fortunately the launch window is much stronger than DS had...or anything ever. But on a launch day I have no games to buy.
Wait! Is that Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars that Gollop game? It could save 3DS launch for me, but wheres the videos of it? No videos is worrying sign.
Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition
Nintendogs + Cats, available in three editions: Poodle, Golden Retriever and Bulldog.
PilotWings Resort
Super Monkey Ball 3D
^^^^^
Top two look like they will be really good. Bottom two should be pretty good.
Fantastic line-up. Nintendo have really put some thought into this. It gives us something to look forward to over the next twelve months i.e. Zelda, Mario Kart, Paper Mario, Resi etc
I am going to be very happy with SSFIV3D, PilotWings Resort and SMB3D.
Meh. I'm waiting until some good RPGs appear.
See guys? Nothing to worry about. The launch line-up actually turned out pretty good (at least in my opinion). So assuming this is very similar to what America will get, I'm getting on launch:
Street Fighter
Nintendogs+Cats: Golden Retriever
Pilotwings Resort
Super Monkey Ball
I am gonna be soooooo poor on 3DS launch day
Not great to me, but I'm not getting the 3DS on launch day anyway. When I hopefully do get one (emphasis on the hopefully), there will plenty to choose from.
Looks like I'll be getting Street Fighter and Pilotwings. None of them are really "must buy" titles for me but this means that there is a) something to look forward to, and b) my wallet won't die (just about).
Thank goodness! PilotWings Resort & Ridge Racer 3D shall be mine. Yaaay!
And not a single title worth paying full RRP for. Heck, I wouldn't pay more than half what retailers want for any of those, even if I already had the console. Slim pickings to say the least...
@moosa
It doesn't help that every super monkey ball game since 2 (which was great!) has been mediocre at best, and most of them can't even manage that
I see some winners on that list, but there's nothing that I would like to run out and buy. About the only thing that grabs me would be the Tom Clancy games and maybe Samurai Warriors, but that's about it. I'm not gonna make the same mistakes I made with the DS when it launched: I ran out and got Yoshi's Touch N Go and Pac Pix which were really just techy gimmicky games, which weren't bad, but the glory days of what the DS was all about were further down the road. Case in point, I will just wait until something I REALLY want comes along, i.e. Kid Icarus, Mario Kart, et al.
I will say this though... I'll be more than busy playing with the 3DS inherent features, which is practically what I do with my DSi at this point... never thought I'd give more app love than game love on a portable.
Pilotwings and Nintendogs...Does someone has some money I could borrow ?
Pilotwings resort and Rayman 3D are the launch titles that interest me. Why doesn't anyone else want Rayman 3D?
maybe most gamers have already had their fill of Rayman2...
I'll be getting Street Fighter IV and Pilotwings. I actually think thats a pretty decent line up, certainly compared to previous handhelds. The only game of note at the launch of the DS was Super Mario 64 DS which was a flawed port. The GBA launched with Super Mario Advance which was another port of arguably the weakest mario platformer.
Rayman 3D = my most anticipated launch title. Can't wait to play that one!
Insta-buys: SSFIV, Super Monkey Ball and Pilotwings
Buy later if under £30 and revws good: Star Wars 3 and Asphalt
Buy much later when quite cheap: Rayman "2" 3DS
Good line-up even though big hitters aren't there.
just been there too many times...
How about Shadowman 3D? Crazy Taxi Collection 3D?? Or maybe Blast Corps 3D?!?!? !!!! There are so many games i'd love to see given a new 3D lease of life!!
@chozo85 I really don't get why so many people think that the original SM64 is better than the DS version. The remake has better graphics, new characters, loads more levels, mini-games and multi-player. Many people complain about the controls but I didn't have any problems with them.
BTW, there is a lot of interest with the 3DS, even moreso than for the Wii in the beginning. You may get actual decent versions of games that are multi-platform unlike crapy ports u often get with the wii
PW and SMB. THat is all.
so what dogs are with each version? Poodle + ?, Golden Retriever + ? and Bulldog + ? does anyone know???
Super street fighter IV is the one I Really want. The day I get My 3DS, I get this game.
Other than Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars, the launch selection sucks. Street Fighter would be good, but it's a port.
@mariofanatic128 I agree Mario64 DS was great!! You have to admit there wasn't quite the same wow factor as when it was first unleashed on the N64.. But great all the same... Some of the mini games were excellent!!
Even the original Game Boy had a killer app at launch.. Tetris..
It seems like most people (me included) will be scrambling to get the same 3 or 4 titles... But there is no killer game is there?
So Nintendo dont want to blow away the 3rd parties straight out of the gate.. Understandable, if you think about it Nintendogs and Pilot Wings
are perhaps the weaker of the 1st party games (in sales terms) so going by their logic I suppose it makes sense.
But for this strategy to work the 3rd party titles have to be more appealing, I'm not going to buy games I don't want, especially at the price point they are at, are you?? I'll leave the ones I don't want on the shelf and wait, does Nintendo think consumers are fools!?
Hey everyone! First time to comment here on nintendo life. I found this site only recently and I think its great! D
hm... I think the list of games is good, but for me, nothing that I would rush out to get =/
I think a lot of people will wait until the likes of mario kart, paper mario, link, kid icarus etc come out
PW will be a good game to demonstrate, in an easy going way, the 3D aspect of the 3DS. Good for Ninty (and me, really) that it has made launch
@crittercat Welcome to nl.
Welcome to Nintendo Life crittercat!
Pilotwings is the only title from this list that I will be buying for sure on day one. I'm interested in getting Rayman 2 as well but I'm not sure if I will be able to afford it. I wonder if the US will be getting Steel Diver and/or Dead or Alive at launch?
This is important. I was going to point this out too. If Nintendo released Zelda on day one, 3rd party software sales would suffer. Nintendo doesn't want that. We don't want that. We want quality third party support. Honestly this launch looks very strong, with lots of good looking games covering a very wide demographic. Sure, if the 3DS had its own Halo, it could move a lot of systems, but we don't want everybody buying one game and then giving all the quality 3rd party games the shaft.
The other thing is, people seemed to have this weird idea that because Nintendo showed off all of these big games at E3, they would all be coming on launch day... It's very much in Nintendo's interest to spread the big titles out over time, and nobody needs to buy 5 triple-A titles on the same day. I'm sure that on the day the NGP lauches, Nintendo will not only already have a very strong software lineup established, but they'll also have at least one big game release to answer them with.
I really hope that SPLINTER CELL 3D is really good.
It is a nice list.
There are so many good games to buy...
Ah cool Nintendogs + Cats: Bulldog! definitely the version I'm getting.
@moosa I mentioned E3, because following Nintendo's awesome 2010 press conference I had a list of titles that I was massively looking forward to, but not even one of them is going to be out on day one (Star Fox 64 3D, Resi Revelations, Ocarina of Time 3D, MGS: Snake Eater, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Mario Kart 3DS and Paper Mario). I never thought that they would all arrive on launch day, but I hoped that at least one of them would be available from the first day.
My opinion is split regarding this launch list:
I think it is a decent line-up.
I will probably be getting Pilotwings Resort, Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, The Sims 3 and maybe Rayman 3d.
Capcom is being really awesome with not only having the most full-featured/impressive-looking 3DS game I've seen so far, but they're getting it out on day one too! Since I can only afford one game near launch, that seems the easy pick.
If they release everything here in NA, I'd probably have to get Pilotwings, Street Fighter, and Nintendogs+Cats. I have some saving up to do, especially considering Pokemon and Okamiden are both coming out that month.
@JamieO: I pretty much agree with you. It would be cool if there was one big, new game for everyone to get excited over. But even so, I think a lot of these games have potential to turn out really good games. I also think there hasn't been a console launch in the past 15 years where there weren't people calling it a "weak" launch.
If Rayman 3D, Pilotwings Resort, and Super Monkey Ball are US launch titles, then that's all I need!
Should I purchase Rayman 3D if I already have the DS version?
Then again, the memories of playing that game and being frustrated is ironically satisfying... Never played it on N64 :/
@moosa Spot on mate, I agree with both of your points:
One of the bugbears in the past, especially regarding UK Nintendo hardware launches, was that there were not enough games on launch day. The Japanese Super Famicom launch was extremely exciting, but gamers complained about the snail-paced release of UK PAL Super Nintendo games, even as they played Super Mario World, F-Zero and Super Tennis. There were complaints that there were not enough GameCube games in the UK on day one and that console had one of my favourite launch titles ever, Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader. With 13 games out for the 3DS on day one, we definitely have lots of variety and choice.
There is lots of potential for quality gameage in the list above, despite stomping my feet like a disgruntled toddler that the games I wanted are not on the list, I could easily be underestimating a future classic. Just on the odds, out of 13 games, at least one is going to achieve a coveted Nlife eight or nine out of ten. The use of 3D in Super Monkey Ball could make it the best game in the franchise and there could be a sleeper hit which people are not talking about as much, perhaps Splinter Cell 3D.
However, because of this and more than ever, I am waiting for Nlife's review analysis of the launch games before I choose. That way I will be sure to pick up the games with the most potential.
That may be the strongest launch line up I've ever seen for a system.
I just pray that this third party support carries over onto their next console as well.
No Steel Driver? I was looking forward to being compelled.
Oh well all I really want is street fighter. I'm buying it with my 3DS day one!
samurai warriors: chronicles for me
Believe it or not, I am going to get Super Monkey Ball 3D on launch. If you look at the website, it's pretty tempting. Well anyway, here are the games I want to get when the 3ds launches (which I AM getting):
1. Super Monkey Ball
2. Nintendogs + Cats
3. Paper Mario 3ds (whenever that comes out)
4. Mario Kart 3ds (whenever that comes out)
NOTES:
can't wait for DOA Dimensions. Was really looking forward to that. If it was close enough in development stages to be considered for a launch title, it probably won't be more than two weeks behind launch. Picking up that and Asphalt 3D. I never want to go back to racing games without tilt control. Still a great lineup though.
wow this actually is much more improved then the japanese.all the games there actually sound good
