The Super Smash Bros. Melee community continues to embarrass itself, following the latest incident taking place at the "Pound 2019 tournament" in the United States last weekend.

After Juan “Hungrybox” Debiedma won against Joseph “Mango” Marquez in the final, a spectator decided to throw a dead crab at him. After registering what had happened, Debiedma got up out of his seat and asked the audience who threw it at him. Later on, a commentator who was at the tournament revealed the organisers had caught the person who threw the crab at Debiedma. Hungrybox also followed up the incident on Twitter, apologising to spectators for losing his temper.

Hungrybox is considered to be the top professional Melee player in the world and is known for regularly playing as Jigglypuff.

Earlier this month, there was a separate incident at a Melee competition in Vancouver, where a player left the stage mid-game when he couldn't keep up with his opponent's Jigglypuff.
