The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD was a lovely release on the Wii U, and those lucky enough to order it quickly got a special edition with a Wolf Link amiibo included. It's one of the harder amiibo to find on its own, however, which is a pity as it also has such a neat role in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. If you need a reminder of that check out the E3 2016 trailer below.
The figure seems to be in line for a re-run in North America, no doubt a decision driven by the success of the game and the Nintendo Switch in particular. The listing is on Nintendo of America's CPSIA page, which lists manufacturing approvals and shows the amiibo currently going on production runs. The Wolf Link amiibo listing is joined by the various new Splatoon and Smash Bros. amiibo revealed in April.
In any case hopefully an influx of stock in the Summer will help increase availability and lower scalped prices; at present the Amazon listing is a merchant flogging it for nearly $36.
Do you still hope to add Wolf Link to your amiibo collection?
Thanks to all that sent this in.

I've already got one, but this is great news for fans who won't pay scalper prices.
Wish I'd have known this before buying one on Amazon. But at least I bought mine with a gift card and not out of pocket (I would've never paid that much for it out of pocket, I was just looking for something to spend that gift card on). Why is it that restocks always seem to happen after I buy something?
That's cool. But how about adding some trials or a way for wolf link to gain more health in botw?..
They really need to re-run a lot of the Zelda related amiibo, anniversary and BotW, especially that there's still more anniversary amiibo on the way.
I still want that OoT Link amiibo, but the chance back in December slipped past me.
I will use Wolf Link Amiibo for this game.
What about the other BotW amiibo that have been MIA since a week after the game was released? I saw them on release day, and not since. Zelda, Guardian, either Link. Even the bokoblin is nowhere to be found, now.
We've owned Zelda U since April but I haven't started it yet, I was waiting for the expansion pass - will need to attempt Link to spell out rjejr with that green line - and it's not safe to go alone. My wife was told by an employee in the Nintendo NY store that they weren't getting any more in b/c they werent making any more so glad to see Nintendo changed their mind.
Of course if they just wanted to include the wolf partner in the expansion pass and not make me pay an additional $15 for an amiibo I'd be okay with that too. At least it is 1 of the best amiibo I've seen so far, 2nd only to a few of those Monster Hunter Stories amiibo. And I need to get Cloud and Cereza just b/c. Guess that's my birthday taken care of then.
Already got mine with Twilight Princess HD on the WiiU. I'll be replaying it soon too. BOTW has gotten me in the mood for more Zelda adventures. My wife was the one with the foresight to pick the WiiU preorder up. She also purchased all the BOTW amiibos from amazon a day or two after the Switch launched. She has a knack for acquiring Nintendo products right before they disappear.
Still waiting for Nintendo UK to restock the BOTW amiibos. Already got Wolf one. Only used it a couple of times on BOTW before getting sick of it.
@Judgedean don't hold your breath, I obsessivley checked for the new ones. I had to do laptop maintainence yesterday and by the time my updates completed they'd gone up and sold out.
I have them ordered on game but I was hoping to save £12 as 3 £10.99's is better than 3 £15's.
They didn't create enough when everyone but loyals hated Nintendo, now everyone has jumped back on the bandwagon they're selling out even faster.
And scalpers are the only ones who benefit 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
I just got mine as a birthday gift this month..the ambiio with Hd Twilight Princess we searched high and low to find it for it's original price. I was pleased to find it at a Target near me (supposedly they had 3 but their stock is only updated every 24 hours)...
Yesterday, I could not believe my eyes...I saw 7 of them in a Walmart not to far a way from me. I thought about buying them and just putting them on an Amazon store...as I have thought of trying it as a little way to bring in some spending Money...but have been leary..I don't want to charge a lot for them...more of a traffic piece...l'm nor sure what i wold lIke to sell though.....but if they are going to release them again......I wish they would release something similar but not quite the same...
Not really. As much as I would love using wolf Link in BoTW, I don't want more figurines around - I barely use them. If they released in card format I'd be more willing to get one.
Yes!
This will be the first amino I buy. Hopefully the last too much plastic tat around as it is....
Please let this mean we going to get twilight princess on switch...
Because the one thing I expect over the next several years, is that my switch becomes a Wii U and 3ds in 1. I have every Zelda on 3ds but 4. Switch could have them all. Skyward sword in hd, even windwaker someday, not omentioning every other one.
Just saying Nintendo, this is what switch needs to become, a portable Zelda, Mario, metroid, vc, 3rd party AAA, ultimate gaming console.
I have 3 or 4 Wolf Link SCamiibo already. It's good for those still looking but as nearly always, what about Europe?
It's one of the handful of non-Fire-Emblem amiiboo I own. Funnily enough, I pick it up because I liked the design and because it was so cheap - like 5€ for a new one. That was before BotW though. I still don't have TP HD (not sure I really need to play that again tbh), nor do I have BotW (the comparisons to W3 and Skyrim really turned me off) ... so it's just sitting there.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE
Calls it a scam <
Has 4 <
I can't wait for smash on switch. I've heard they were going to rerelease all the smash amiibo for those who didn't have a u. I also heard a rumour that some new variants were coming as well. People complain about the amount of games on Nintendo consoles but something I've learned over the past two years is that Nintendo games take longer to 100 percent than most of my 165 platinums on the PS4. Ive been playing yoshis wooly world, tropical freeze, and new super Mario bros u for a year, haha. Obviously I'm jumping between games but I estimate that I've spent at least 150 hours among all three games. I've been playing a bit of botw on the switch a bit everyday since launch and have only found 632 korok seeds, 97 shrines, and beaten 3 divine beasts. Not sure how many sub bosses I've taken down but I estimate it's around 20. I also have yet to take down any lynels but I feel like I've barely scratched the surface. Getting back on point, I hope that Nintendo continues to push amiibo and hopefully add more content to each amiibo, because I have a feeling most of us have a lot of them still in the box and I personally wish every game released gave us a reason to open them for the extra content.
I need this amiibo in my collection.
I already have a Wolf Link from Twilight Princess HD... what I need is a re-release of the other Zelda Anniversary amiibo so I can finally get the Toon Link and Zelda duo.
@Nintendoforlife I bought 3 or 4 of this bundle.
So, ya, the point still stands. They're a scam. I've quite a few this way. Yoshi's Woolly World, Animal Crossing: SCamiibo Festival.
@Bolt_Strike Can you buy a switch so it restocks
BOTW ZELDA RERUN PLEASE
I don't understand how this is so difficult to find. Almost every store in my city still has many copies of Twilight Princess HD with the Wolf Link amiibo included. In fact, it really didn't sell well as people at the time the game was released didn't want the game + amiibo...they just wanted the game. Now that Breath of the Wild was announced to use the Wolf Link, then everyone started going, "OMG I NEED THIS AMIIBO NOW." It was actually rather comical. I got mine through a pre-order but it turns out, this was one of the only game + amiibo sets I really didn't need to pre-order. They're still everywhere. The amiibo on its own is very rare, but it's everywhere bundled with the game (at least in my city, and frankly across the province here in Canada).
@YeshaYahu5417 I maxed out my Wolf Link with the full 20 hearts using Cave of Shadows in Twilight Princess HD. I find that's more than enough to get through Breath of the Wild. I'm very far in the game now, pretty much done...I'm just hunting Korok Seeds now before my final battle with Ganon. All my armor is maxed out too. I find I don't even scan in Wolf Link anymore, I don't need him at this point. I'd rather see more story missions and dungeons added (like the Christmas 2017 DLC that's been announced) rather than a dungeon to add more hearts for Wolf Link at this point.
I already own this amiibo, so this is not big to me. In fact, this is the only amiibo I own since it came bundled with Twilight Princess. As someone who could care less for amiibo, I actually recommend picking this one up. It looks super nice and has reasonable functionality in Breath of the Wild.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Why did you buy so many of them?
I just picked up Link Archer, Link Rider AND a Bokoblin in my local supermarket over in France. There's hope for Europe! Still regret not getting the Guardian when it first came out. Hopefully it's getting another run too....
@DarthFoxMcCloud That's cool. Yeah I never needed wolf link to begin with. I think it's a cool feature to have him as a companion in botw. But just having TP as the only way to max his hearts is kinda skimpy imo.
I just found a wolf link/TP bundle from Target like two weeks ago (randomly). So that's why I have it now.
Yeah I have like over 300 hours in. All missions/side quests completed, trials also. As far as korok seeds I found over 500 so far. I wasn't going to purchase the season pass but I had some Gamestop credit left over and bought a pass with it.
I bought the wii u twilight princess bundle and I don't regret it.
I've always been a Nintendo fan but this amiibo business is getting stupid and are sold like overpriced DLCs, so I decided to give them the finger by buying an n2elite.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Yeah, "SCamiibo" still isn't witty.
@JudasGoat
You're right we need more legend of Zelda breath of the wild amiibo's back in stock.
I can't even find a Bokoblin anymore, never believed they would even sellout 😬
I already have this one but rarely use it because Wolf Link is annoying. He's constantly ruining my sneak attacks so I just stopped using him.
Would be real nice if they gave retailers better stock for the Anniversary amiibo preorders. I shouldn't have to choose between running the risk of breaking the bank to preorder the amiibo immediately after they're announced and waiting until I know I can afford them, just to find out that all three retailers are sold out on their preorders.
Strange they picked this Amiibo to restock. I can still find it on store shelves near me in Arizona although every other Amiibo for Zelda is long gone. It is also the Amiibo I use the least in BOTW. I climb and fly too much so the wolf is always leaving.
@JohnBlackstar Right?! I'm in AZ, too, and I know I've seen a good few of the Wolf Link amiibo, or at least the TPHD bundle. I was fortunate enough to buy every Zelda amiibo released to date, but as soon as Nintendo announced that select retailer-exclusive BS, I knew I wasn't going to see these amiibo for a good while, which stings because not only am I stuck with being 3 amiibo short of a complete set (#firstworldproblems), but I also won't be able to get the Fierce Deity Armor, and I was really looking forward to getting that (without buying those non-licensed amiibo cards).
You know what would really be cool...MORE STOCK OF ALL AMIIBO EVERYWHERE, sadly there is a few amiibo I want, and I strongly doubt I'm getting them unless I pay a scalper.
@Kayfios
I missed out on the new round of pre-orders so I am in the same boat. I managed to pick up a majority of the anniversary releases from Japan for cheap before the game came out. I will probably pay some outrageous price to get the new ones. I'm still two divine beasts, 20 shrines, and hyrule castle away from beating the game so I have been saving my money since I have been progressing so slowly through the game.
@MonsieurRosbif I got lucky and got that day 1, however I regret not picking up OOT Link if we are talking about Zelda amiibo.
@undead_terror
I can find you any Animal Crossing Amiibo you need. All the cards finally hit clearance so they are gone. The figures have been as low as $2 at stores here and just sit there. I don't think my local Walmart or Target have restocked Amiibo in two months or more. They have given up.
@JohnBlackstar Ya a lot of the AC amiibo here is 5 bucks, that triple pack thats worth it for kk slider is 15, and festival bundled with two for 25, all we got here is AC's, Ryu's, Lucas's, all these amiibo with little to no uses, not even a single Mario which you would think that there is massive loads of.
I have them all, except Skyward Sword and Majoras Mask amiibo... and now that I'm done with BOTW aside from korok seeds, I kinda don't care. I want them, but I'm not paying a scalper. The amiibo armor sucks, star fragments are a pain, Mario Maker quit getting updates for more costumes... Maybe one of them would work on Hyrule Warriors, but even then I hardly touch that game anymore.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE
Oh, great... (sarcasm)
You bought the Amiibos and insulted them as a Scam.
This is like you said " Looks everybody. Finally I bought this Stupid stuffs. Can you see how stupid these are ?"
What a dumb logic... :
How about restocking the ACTUAL BOTW amiibo along with those Zelda anniversary ones? I've seen Wolf Link everywhere here, restock the newer ones before announcing a new set of anniversary ones (Which have already sold out on the Nintendo Store.).
You sorted the situation with the Smash amiibo eventually where it was actually possible to collect them all without paying scalper prices, now you've gone back to limited stock. What happened Nintendo?
That's good to hear. My dog ate almost all of my Zelda related amiibo. Now, I get to replace them.
@YeshaYahu5417 You can download the DLC to do that on the
Wii U eshop. It's called Twilight Princess HD.
@Angelic_Lapras_King I know, probably they'll do after the new amiibos launch.
@JohnBlackstar I went to Walmart, and all they had were Daisy and Waluigi. Granted, those are the best amiibo, hands down, it was disappointing to see so little variety on store shelves; the only other amiibo being sold were Yarn Poochy and Isabelle and Digby, packed in with their respective games.
@JohnBlackstar Again, the status of the store near you doesn't reflect the status of every other store. The amiibo is hard to find (good thing I picked it up when it launched with TPHD). And yes, I hope there's a way that it doesn't disappear when you get too far away. It's quite annoying too when you tell it to stay on place to sneak into the enemy territory and then it just teleports on your face and starts barking like crazy.
@Setery10 Too late, I already got one 2 months ago.
@Devlind That's good to know. But I don't own a Wii U anymore. Sold it a month after the release of MK8 (Wii U). It's not a concern though.
My Wolf Link amiibo is proudly displayed in my living room, but this is great for those who didn't manage to nab it at a normal price. Hopefully they do reruns of more hard-to-find amiibo.
There were about 15 at my local Gamestop and so I waited to pick it up at the Switch launch. Went to go pick up my previous ordered Switch and ALL of the amiibo were gone.... There has been a hole in my BOTW experience ever since. I need this and the Smash. Bros. Link so I can also have epona. First world problems, indeed.
This reminds me I still need to get wolf link..and the BOTW amiibo..and the new Zelda series amiibo. So many amiibo...
So what? I already got it the day I bought Twilight Princess HD. Not having Breath of the Wild, I should consider the other amiibo figures. I should just settle for the Wii U Version.
Guardian. More Guardians.
Re-release the Bokob
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Riiiight. It's totally a scam. That's why you bought four of them...
@YoshiAngemon You should absolutely play the Wii U version, if that's the only option you have. It's the same game, with the only differences being barely-noticeable and graphical in nature.
God bless. I've been on the fence whether I should pick it up for 40, or if it's more important to just wait it out and hope for a rerun.
This is what I get for buying TP:HD used, I suppose
Finally wolf link gets what he earns..
