Nintendo Download: 29th April 2011 (Europe)
Posted by James Newton
WiiWare MIA
After several months of finding out the download days in advance, it's back to a wait and see approach this week, so let's see what's available for you to buy right now.
Virtual Console
The Ignition Factor (Jaleco, Super NES, 900pts) — A top-down firefighting game, this is one of a kind on Virtual Console, so look out for our full review coming soon to let you know if this is too hot to handle or simply a burn out.
DSiWare
Zoonies - Escape from Makatu (Kiloo Games, 500pts) — A puzzle platformer that sees lion hero Leo escaping from the evil Makatu and his tribe. Our full review will be online next week.
Successfully Learning English: Year 3 (Tivola, 500pts) — More educational fare from Tivola, following Successfully Learning English: Year 2. We'll mind our Ps and Qs in our upcoming review.
Ice Hockey Slovakia 2011 (Cypronia, 200pts) — The game title that has everything, this is a version of table hockey rather than the sport seen in All-Star Air Hockey. We'll review it next week.
That's all, folks.

As bad as WiiWare has been the last few months, having a week without it is no big deal for you Europeans.

In the last few weeks (or months?) there were only mediocre to worse WiiWare titles. The last really good one was Hydroventure/Fluidity in my opinion. And just when you think it can't get any worse, Nintendo surprises us with something new: Nothing. Not even a demo. Is this the end of WiiWare as we know it?

This really is annoying. Nintendo releases great systems but then seems to neglect them in every way possible.

I haven't bought a Download game since Cave Story on the 10th of December last year.
Nintendo download games just don't excite me any more...

Ignition Factor isn't that great, but I'm sure some people will enjoy it. It's different, at the very least.

I'm expecting it to be either a 6 or a 7.

i know nintendo are focusing their efforts on the 3ds and wii2, but they should have atleast put some energy into getting some deals done for some decent dowloads for the wii.
4 months of pure isn`t really acceptable.

The Ignition Factor? Everything I learned about "Ignition" was from R. Kelly back in 2002-2003. I wonder if this game is about that?

Now if they would only release Monster World IV. I would happily spend my money for VC instead of WiiWare.

My only hope is that they have been neglecting the nintendo shop because they have been planning a fantastic launch of the eShop on the 3DS and that after it has launched it goes back to buisiness as usual... if the 3DS eshop launch is poor and they dont go back to decent regular additions to the nintendo shops then I will be really p!$$ed off!!
