Hudson Bringing Tetris Party Live to DSiWare

Posted by Jon Wahlgren

Party on the bus

Nintendo handhelds and Tetris go together like chocolate and peanut butter, so it's a bit disheartening that the stellar Tetris DS is so hard to come by these days.

Hudson hears your pain and is stepping in with Tetris Party Live for DSiWare, which was discovered by Siliconera via an OLFC rating (G, by the way).

Tetris Party on WiiWare turned out to be a blast and a portable (and available) rendition will certainly scratch a certain itch.

I'd rather have a "Express" version of Tetris DS, but this would work nicely. Will Miis appear in the game though?

Will it be online?
Today I bought my sister a 2nd hand copy of Tetris DS for her birthday. It wont play in her DSi. Annoyed if it is a bootleg.
Maybe I could give her my copy & get this but I love Tetris DS so much.

Never had Tetris DS, which I regret quite hardcore. But if this is any good, I may pick it up. Best be online and 5 dollars =D

This is great news, and long overdue.

@Joe Diddley Your copy is probably a bootleg. It seems like 99% of Tetris DS on eBay are counterfeit. Do not buy anything DS from Hong Kong, because anything from there is a fake.

YESSSSS!!!!! I LOVE Tertis! This game is long overdue! Insta-Buy!

I actually would've settled for a 200 point copy of the original game, but I have a feeling this will be 500. Either way, though. . .

YESSSSS!!!!!

Looks like Wiis Tetris Party. I have an awful Tetris disease! Last night I played Wii's Tetris until 4 am. Tetris will ruin me some day, and I will be happy while going into ruins. Wii's Tetris Party is the best game in the world(DS's retail Tetris is superb too, and DS phat has even better buttons), Its also the worst drug.

Tetris DS is by far the greatest Tetris iteration on any system; as others have said, I'd much prefer that to be broken up for download.

Sadly, my copy of Tetris DS turned out to be a bootleg as well. It still played fine until that fateful day: April 5th, 2009. Okay, so I didn't know it wouldn't work and didn't try it until a little while after that, but you get the point.:P

I'm sick and tired of retail releases of Tetris getting pitifully small prints (Tetris Evolution on XB360 was the same way, though it's far less sought after than Tetris DS for obvious reasons). Especially when the downloads turn out to be inferior (Tetris Splash isn't really very good, and I find it VERY unlikely that this upcoming download can compare to the prior retail awesomeness). It's not like Tetris doesn't sell, so WHY do they discontinue it so fast in the FIRST place?:(

Much better than Tetris DS Express, which is what I expected. Hopefully, it'll be an 800 (even 1000 is fine) point game with online etc.

I expect this will be a premium release if the WiiWare pricing is anything to go by. Nice, though! I do think Tetris and handhelds were made for each other!

I took my bootleg copy of Tetris back to the store today & managed to swap it for a copy that worked fine on DSi. Lucky as it was the only other copy in stock.
