I'm quite confident that Conduit 2 will be the FPS for the Wii and I think HVS knows what it needs to do to deliver the goods.

I am too. They can't risk releasing another glitch-riddled game. We'll definitely have to wait and see how it turns out, but I'm hoping it'll be the Goldeneye of the Wii.

In my opinion, here's what they need to concentrate on: the level designs! Goldeneye N64 had pretty much no story, no voice acting, so-so graphics, and horrible controls. But it's still one of the greatest FPS ever because of the incredible multiplayer and outstanding level design. No FPS has ever matched the quality of Goldeneye's multiplayer maps, IMO. If HVS can pull of a great story, a cool art style, and have great local multiplayer, then that's great. But personally, I just want to see them really nail the local multiplayer.

Yeah, Goldeneye had a good combination of open space and not-so-open space. I have a problem with the Streets level on the Conduit: it relies too much on speed, and not on stealth and strategy.

The level designs were far from bad, but they need jazzing up a bit, and they need to be less repetitive. I would also like to see MORE levels, and something unique about them. There also needs to be more outdoor levels, and more variation between them. The music was OK, but it needs to be able to match the environment. Remember the Siberia level, that was good, and almost synonymous with the level: in fact, whenever I play a snowy level on a game, I usually think of the Siberia music. I am optimistic because from what I've heard, there will be more variation in the levels this time.

I also think that HVS needs to be more bold when designing the enemies, they all looked more or less the same.

@DaVeMaN99 Agreed. NP doesn't know how to properly market some things.

I got ONM yesterday and it had a preview on The Conduit 2. It showed the new places and they're pretty interesting. I think this is gonna be awesome.

no. absolutely not. unless you find it for $10 or less... a lot of people seem to think it's a decent game but even those who like it have to admit it's massively lacking in a lot of departments. i'd wait for the sequel to improve the same general experience, you won't miss much.

Honestly, I would say yes, but only if you can find it for about $20 or less.

Definitely. it's a franchise with its own cool story.

So ends a saga older than time itself.

Ditto, although the aliens need to look better or introduce a new attack wave of aliens that look better.
Also a darker story line that shakes you to you core with shock truths.
i would like to see civillians to interact with and human special forces that give you a run for your money.

I found the first game to be pretty generic, the graphics were decent but that was it, the single player and story was just horrible. The online mode wasen't horrible though, I'm looking forward to how they will enhance that in the sequel. Also, a split screen shooter on the Wii? Sounds appealing!

turtlelink, I would rent the first game to play through the campaign mode once just to catch up on the story. That's all you really need it for.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

yes, rental is the way to go. believe me, the 6-7 hours of mediocre single player don't warrant a $50 purchase. online multiplayer is solid but compared to other FPS it feels basic and limited, to the point where they probably could have released it on wiiware without sacrificing anything (not to mention that it's full of horrible glitches and bugs). the game is just a bad value no matter how you look at it, so again, rent or buy used.

or, don't try it at all: the one good, shining source of fun the conduit offers is it's tweakable control scheme, which has now been adopted by every wii FPS since. go ahead and try red steel 2 instead and you'll be able to enjoy the same tight gunplay of the conduit, only in a game that's actually good!

i could go on forever about how disappointing the conduit is... it's at least a little fun, but there are so many better games to give your attention to before this one. if you haven't played the prime trilogy or red steel 2, the conduit shouldn't even be on your radar; those games should be a much higher priority to you.

The conduit gets a bad rep, probably because apparently it was really overhyped, but I think it's an awesome game. I don't agree at all with the criticism. no point in renting it - it costs $13.95 at amazon and similar places.
http://www.amazon.com/Conduit-Nintendo-Wii/dp/B001HKPUKC anyway, I think it's a must.

high voltage can only blame themselves for that after billing the game as the savior of the wii. for me hype wasn't a factor, i just expected a good quality shooter. i played it last night just to make sure i hadn't judged it unfairly, and i can't for the life of me play it more than half an hour without getting bored. it's a tedious struggle to make it to the end of each level. but hey, for $13 it may be a fair deal.
