So no more reviewing for you?

Yeah, $1000 seems about right, but you have to make sure to make sure you tell them everything and say how good of a deal, how much the bundle would cost separately, etc

wow...thats a good VC collection. How can you sell it? Good for you if you can get more than $600!

Not for Wii, anyway...

I can almost guarantee I'll never see $1000 for that. I suppose I could try $700 for starters and move down slowly if it seems like there are no takers.

If you could get people to understand all you get with the used system, not counting accessories/peripherals. You could charge full retail. $230-$250. I know that sounds like too little, but Wii may be a tougher sell than you think. Also, I'm only thinking of downloads. For the whole pack, I'd give my left nut for that (please dont report me for saying that).

I understand the desire to get rid of it all at once, but you'll end up seriously undervaluing what was a very expensive investment. I super quickly guestimated the whole package at $2000 (the roughest part was the downloaded games, which I just added up at $7 each as an average instead of identifying each one), and that was ignoring stuff like the shells and guessing low at prices for things like Rock Band accessories.

I would personally break it up into a handful of Ebay auctions with a low reserve for each:

System with Wii controllers and all controller accessories (except Rock Band stuff), plus the games that go with any accessories (whatever goes with the M+, zapper, and wheel -- oh, and Wii Sports), and the component cables and SD card. Emphasize the downloadables. Reserve maybe at $350.

All other Wii games plus Rock Band accessories. Reserve at $175, maybe?

And then a Gamecube lot, emphasizing Fire Emblem since it goes for a lot on its own, with GC controllers and memory card. Reserve at $80.

If you insist on doing just one auction, I don't think you'll get half of what you deserve for it, but I would personally price it between $750 and $850 and just do Buy It Now instead of auction. (I know you said some site other than Ebay, but I only know Ebay's terminology.)

I hope it sells, whatever you decide to do. Even if someone doesn't want all of that (and really, who would? That would be some coincidence if someone has the exact same tastes as you -- hence the problem of huge lots), they can at least sell what they don't want themselves. I have been in your position many a time, and I'm surprised I haven't sold both my Wii and PS3 already... and even more surprised that I didn't have enough restraint to stop myself from getting a DSi. But I just sell the games because you never know when you'll want the system again, especially with 2010 looking so good.

At the moment I have no more than three retail games per system and no spending much lately, though I do find my wallet is much more easily loosened by downloadable games, unfortunately, many of which end up being awful.

I'd say start it at 1000. THe wiiware and vc are already at least 500 bucks so those should go regular price. And then the games and accessories. Wow. Are you sure you want to do this?

You have to understand though that no one wants all those VC/WW games. They will just want some, and they can't sell the others. If sold in one big lot, I personally wouldn't figure them into the price at all (but definitely mention them, probably just giving the number of downloads and an estimate cost instead of a huge list, just so the buyer realizes how underpriced the deal is).

Yeah if you're going to sell it as a package, you'd better start in the $700 range and work your way down.

Good god, what's wrong with you? I would kill for a collection that massive.

If you must sell it then start with $750 and work your way down. $500 is way too low!

Philip_J_Reed

Heck, I'd buy it off you right now for $500, except that the darned downloadable games would require me to keep both Wiis hooked up. BOO.

$750 is looking like the golden number. I hope for your sake that you don't have to work your way down. If it were an auction, I wouldn't be surprised if the price were worked up.

Hmmm, go 800 then gradually decrease...by any chance, are you selling the wii to buy a different home console (ps3 or xbox360) or is it a case of you dont want any home console and would rather just stick to DS. I ask this out of pure curiousity.

with all that stuff, you may want to try breaking it up into lots and selling it that way, or coming up with individual prices in case someone only wants one thing out of the entire pile of stuff you're putting up. Craigslist can be more like an internet garage sale than an auction site, and people might even be willing to barter if you're up to recouping what you've spent that way.

One thousand makes the most sense. Christ, a PS3 alone costs about 400 dollars! A wii with buttloads of games, virtual games, wiiware games AND accessories should be no less then a thousand. All the games alone are probably worth more than that, but still, $1000 is good.

The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.

I've actually pondered about acquiring a PS3 at some point, but I've realized that wouldn't be such a hot idea because I'm afraid of the very same thing happening again. In addition, I'm looking at saving my money for something more worthwhile than just games. Looking back at how much I've spent on such over the last five years alone, it really seems like I'm simply throwing money down the toilet. I may not swear off gaming altogether, but, man!, there's no way I can keep doing what I've been doing. It's just not worth it.

I love my DS - I consider it the best gaming platform I've had the pleasure of owning - so there's no way I'll ever get rid of it.

Well, just posted the ad with an asking price of $700. Now I'll just have to sit back and wait. I have no problems with bartering if it comes down to that.

I've used craigslist on several occasions with great success... coincidentally I found my current domicile with the help of it. Craigslist can most definitely be a great source for a good many things.

700 seems reasonable...... shoot I may buy any chance I could just get some games?
Or maybe everything on that list EXCEPT for the wii? and a few select games?

Why do I want to bring back Pluto? Cuz the 8 others bullied it and I don't approve of bullying and I am here with this pointless movement to remind people of how (in)significant it really is!
