Everybody loves sales charts, but Metroid fans look away now. Unbelievably the latest entry in the Metroid series has only entered at number 12 in the UK sales chart. Have a look:
1 Mafia II PC, PS3, Xbox 360 2 Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days PC, PS3, Xbox 360 3 Wii Sports Resort Wii 4 Toy Story 3 PC, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 5 Red Dead: Redemption PS3, Xbox 360 6 Just Dance Wii 7 Super Mario Galaxy 2 Wii 8 Sniper: Ghost Warrior PC, Xbox 360 9 Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands DS, PS3, PSP, Wii, Xbox 360 10 New entry Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 PC, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 11 LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 DS, PC, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 12 New entry Metroid: Other M Wii 13 Wii Fit Plus Wii 14 Mass Effect 2 PC, Xbox 360 15 Battlefield: Bad Company 2 PC, PS3, Xbox 360 16 Modern Warfare 2 PC, PS3, Xbox 360 17 New Super Mario Bros. DS 18 Need for Speed: Shift PC, PS3, PSP, Xbox 360 19 New Super Mario Bros. Wii Wii 20 Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 Wii, PS3, Xbox 360
Remember that Wii Sports Resort comes with every new Wii console sold, so that's a big boost to its sales. As for Just Dance... I gave up trying to understand that a long time ago. But hey, look at HAWX 2 on 360 - that only made it to #10.
And Just Dance is actually quite fun! You should give it a try sometime, you being a queen of something or the other should make you an instant success
About Other:M - I'm now tempted to wait for the inevitable bargain bin deal to pick this one up.
Conversations that I have with 'normal' people about gaming, tend to go like this...
Them - "I mostly play CoD and FIFA, as do most of my friends" Me - "Bleh. Have you tried Other: M, Red Steel 2, or No More Heroes 2?" Them - "Nope, never heard of 'em" Me - "OK bye now"
Nothing surprises me anymore, especially UK 'gamers' habits. >_>
I don't take a list consisting mostly of garbage any serious
I guess you err on the side of - blaming "the great British public" then.
On another point. At number 17, can't believe people are still buying New Super Mario Bros. DS (four years old)! Don't tell me that's boxed in with the DS now?
Nintendo is having a large campaign here in the UK to promote Mario's upcoming birthday (one week today, fact fans) that's seen some prices reduced and plenty of extra POS in stores. That could perhaps account for the rise in Mario sales.

Sad but true Machu.
Once games like those get their hooks into you, it leaves you with very little leisure time to play anything else...

Western (not the Brits specifically of course) charts are quite disastrous for quite a couple of years, filled with the sameness, mindless filth like popstar, war and wannbe gangster sims.
The only thing I like about good games bombing, is we can pick it up for cheap pretty quickly. The downside of that, is that it usually never warrants a sequel for selling so bad. Other M really deserves to be high on that list...ugh, darn casual gamers and their easily mass-appeal, play-it-safe games.

The recent "part of the family since '85" campaign is quite nice. Having 'normal' people talk about their excperiences with the games instead of showing a decent trailer and gameplay tho, is not. So not cool! but yes, the masses seem to like
I would prefer word of mouth rather than seeing gameplay and a trailer that everybody has seen, unless they were to do something new.
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
Haha! I'd even rather see a mediocre Prince of Persia title at no. 1 or 2 than a Mafia 2 or a Kane & Lynch at these spots. Mass Effect 2 is the only 'next gen' game that appeals to me.
I'd just like to point out that Metroid has never really done that well in the UK and hardly anyone has played them. That debut is also only slightly lower than Corruption but much, much better than Echoes.
Obviously Nintendo needs to advertise in Nuts and Zoo with scantily clad pictures of Samus.
Please sign the petition to get Nintendo to integrate Social Features directly in the Switch OS/Hardware:
