I heard the IGN Podcast. It sounds very good. I am glad and I hope it sells well

And this is exactly why games should have an offline option for multiplayer. You simply cannot play a first-person shooter this way.

I saw it a few minutes ago. It's about what I expected.

Thank you for bringing this up Adam.

In the same paragraph Adam brought up that quote, the reviewer stated that there was “No lag”. Then he turned around and said the complete opposite(in the same). So I`m curious to find out whether or not the rest of the review is valid.

I read the review, and he said that he experienced cases of online play without a single framerate dip and cases with severe lag. Ign has never let me down before, so I always trust them.

He said it alternated. Some matches were lagless; some were lagtastic. I've waded through enough Brawl matches online that I don't have the patience for that kind of service anymore.

What's worse, the game isn't even out yet, is it? Isn't the release date tomorrow? I can only imagine how bad it'll be in a day or two if it sells half as well as they hope.

First I`m going to play a few hours of the storyline then hop online.
I hope your terribly wrong Adam. I truly do.

It's not me. I'm just reporting what IGN said. And even that is based on incomplete data. The real test will be the next few days when there are more people online than there probably ever will be for the game.

Ouch.

Supposed to be the best playing and best looking game on the Wii and their BFF gives it a mid-8.

I'm expecting other sites to be not nearly as friendly, especially those that review the game after it comes out, where the lag is blown up to an even bigger extent.

Already looks like High Voltage didn't deliver, yet again.

@Adam
Oh, I know but your the one that acknowledged that if the games lagging before its released then who knows how it`ll be tomorrow or next week?
I just hope for the best

We haven't even played it at all yet, and people are already dismissing it as a failure based on one review. High Voltage seems like the kind of company that, if a part of their game was indeed dramatically jolted, would deliver a patch or do something to fix it. Plus, the editors at IGN own and play all three consoles, and are comparing the game to the FPS games on other consoles (whether they intend to or not). I bet if the game were played and reviewed by a person that has never touched a game with "Gears" or "Halo" in the title, they would mark it remarkably higher.

They can't patch a game on the Wii.

And saying this game would be better if good FPS games didn't exist doesn't really help The Conduit. lol

Well Gears isn't a FPS, & Halo is an Average FPS. You wanna compare it to a good FPS well there's Half-Life 2, Bioshock, Call of Duty 4, all of which blow Halo outta the water.

On that note, since people keep comparing the Conduit to Halo, maybe it won't be that good after all, we'll find out tomorrow.

Flandre Scarlet, she's cute, she's colorful, she can blow up entire cities, she's also a vampire. Start running sparklepants.

Problem with that is that HVS said they looked at games like halo, metroid and stuff like that so by saying you looked at halo people will compare you with it (and come on, a lot of those alien weapons are weapons you'd normally see in a halo game. I really hoped it wud do well but i think the hype that it had hurt it more than it helped. It would or will score higher if the excessive hyping wasn't so much. May still pick it up but i hope they learn that splitscreen would have done their multiplayer better than online.

While it is true that they can't patch Wii games, the lag most likely has a lot more to do with their server, and they could indeed make changes there if necessary, even more drastic ones like booting players who have ping-responses slower than a certain threshold.
