I've beaten like 3 of the like 18 VC games I own (Mega Man 2, Super Metroid, and Zelda OoT), and have beaten 2 of the 6 or so WiiWare games that I own (Mega Man 10 and LostWinds 1).
I really want to finish Adventures of Lolo, Secret of Mana, Phantasy Star IV, Zelda Majora's Mask, and LostWinds 2, but I'm just preoccupied with other games on my GBA SP and DSi, as well as other life events that come around.
I eventually beat all the games I have that can be beaten, but I never sit down and play one game to completion. Maybe it's ADD or something but I have to constantly play something new after an hour or so.
I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.
I've beaten a good amount of my WiiWare games in order to say that a majority of them are beaten. However, my VC games are a different story...

I tend to be the same way -- i'll hop around, playing SMB3 for a half hour or so, then some Castlevanian for a level or two, then Blaster Master until i get frustrated with a boss killing me ten times, then some random Tomena Sanner runs, etc, etc.
I've finished Sonic ,SoR2 , Milons Doki Doki panic (whatever its called!!),Star Soldier R played it to death ,Star Parodier and Shinobi III. I'm on the last level of Soldier Blade (its not for want of trying that I haven't finished that one! Arghh!) So out of 20 odd VC games I've only completed 5 or 6. Hmmm not good, though probably not as bad as the rest of my game collection.Seriously how do people find the time to finish all these games, sheesh. I estimate it would take a year of constant (and I mean 18hours a day) playing to clear all the games I haven't completed.By which time a load more games would have come out!! Its the one thing I don't like about this hobby.Music I can listen to on the go,Films are usually 3 hours max yet a lot of games I play require a good 40-50 hours of dedication EACH!! Note to self must stop buying video games...oh apart from the new Fallout and Metroid and Zelda and all those lovely shooters awiting purchase on the VC and............arrrghhhhh
Good question. I haven't beaten many of the games I have boughten, because I start to get crazy ADD and was downloading many games at once. I am trying to save money now, by not downloading anything while I finish up this huge backlog on my Wii Menu now. I've had a good start by beating Super Metroid tonight, and I think starting tomorrow I will tackle Paper Mario or Super Mario RPG...can't decide, but whatever I play I am gonna just stick with that one game until I beat it. When I get side-tracked I never seem to go back and finish the games.

I always try to play through every game that I buy. Why should I buy it otherwise? Unfortunately, most of the old VC games are extremely difficult or unfair. This may be the reason why I don't have too many of them.
I can not understand people who constantly buy new games (or most common: parents who buy their children constantly new games) and they never play through any of them. It is as if one buys a lot of books and always read only the first 10 pages.

I don't think that is a fair comparison. You play games as long as you find them fun, and a game can be fun to play for plenty of time, without necessarily being beaten. For a book you don't get the entire story without reading it to the end, but it is not completely the same for a game where you can still experience many aspects of the gameplay. Also, a game can at a point be so hard your skills won't do anymore and then you drop it and play something else. A book doesn't work that way, where you reading abilities suddenly is not enough to read the next chapter.
Finished VC: Neutopia Ys Book I & II Super Metroid Super Mario World The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Unfinished VC: Kid Chameleon Super Mario Kart Metroid Neutopia II (Last boss is insanely difficult and it takes a while to get back to him after a game over) Sonic 3, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic 3 & Knuckles Star Tropics Castlevania: Rondo of Blood
Finished WiiWare: Mega Man 9 NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits
Unfinished WiiWare: Mega Man 10 Bit.Trip Core Cave Story Blaster Master: Overdrive
Looks like 2/6 for WiiWare and 5/12 for VC. I'll get around to all of them eventually (except B.TC).

Mostly because if I don't then I might forget about it completely - especially true with downloads - and I know how important first month sales are to publishers/developers.
^ Ehm. What do you mean? You don't play through your games because you want to forget them? Or want to support the developers in terms of first month sales? Sorry, I do not understand that. It might be due to my lack of english, really.
I've beaten or completed 3 VC games: Star Fox, Mario 64, and Legend of Zelda I've not beaten: SMB (not for lack of trying), SMB 2, SMB 2: Lost Levels, SMB 3, SMB World, Zelda II, LoZ:ALttP
I own no WW except for Doc Louis's Punch Out which I have not been able to play yet.
Downloads get put on the back burner over disc games for me too. I know I will beat all of these titles someday, and I probably won't buy more VC games until I do, unless something I'm extremely nostalgic for comes out.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery

I mean if I don't make the purchase at release, then odds are I never will because I'll forget about the game and move on to other things. For example I didn't buy Lost Winds: Winter of the Melodias when it first came out and then months went by and I knew I'd have to get it or it would remain unpurchased as I got distracted by other things. I know that if I don't pick up Art of Balance soon the same thing will happen.
Backloggery helps remind me that they're still there waiting to be played so it doesn't bother me much.
