I'm not really excited by the game play videos. I don't understand why they use such easy levels for demos. It'd make sense at a Gamestop for random passersby, but at E3? These are video game journalists playing, people whose job requires them to be pretty good at games, and we are avid fans watching. Toss in something more challenging. DKC was always a difficult series for me, so I'm sure it gets better than this, but these presumably early levels are rather tame.
sweet i love the first dkc remeber the snes days so i downloaded it on the wii got the second and third which reminds me i should try and finish the third one and also as soon as a release date pops up im imediately preordering it
As long as the final levels in the game are more challenging than these beta levels, this game is going to be awesome. Love the gameplay, and this is my most anticipated Wii game this year.

And yea, the banana nut is annoying, haha.
I don't think we're seeing everything. I read one preview that said they played a very challenging level.

for me, the most interesting part is that kenji yamamoto (the metroid composer) is doing the soundtrack. they're also letting you choose a nunchuck or sideways remote control scheme, and the game apparently has 3 times the detail that metroid corruption did.
@romulux: i figured it'd be that way, considering it looks very much like DK meets NSMBW. good times, i'm not really a nunchuk fan either :3

Since I didn't understand most of that, I'll simply comment on the highlighted spot. Ahem .......... stfu.
Looks amazing. I've always been a big fan of the DKC games, and I quite liked DK64. The moment I heard the theme during the conference I almost cried. True story And I loved how a couple people went "woo!" when the theme started and DK appeared on screen, but when the gameplay was shown everyone cheered Day one buy for me.
And Simultaneous play? HELL YEAH! Wonder if you can play competitively? All 3 DKC games had cooperative and competitive modes (taking turns, though), simultaneous would make it a million times better. Imagine racing through a stage throwing each other into enemies and trying to collect all the bananas

Oh, and the mine cart levels looked glorious.
I agree with this 100%! But I not only cried, I grew so much excitement I tried to rip my shorts off.
Everything in that trailer was mind blowing! It's just... speechless in my opinion. And yes, I'm a very hardcore Donkey Kong Country fan.

I am glad that you can play Donkey Kong Country Returns sideways-Wiimote style. Surprised to heard that the Kremlings [including King K. Rool] are not returning. I am looking forward to this game!
Some of the first prototype artwork stuff was like, "This palm tree looks like a Metroid palm tree." Oh my god I want see this palm tree! I laughed so hard when I read this.
