Topic: Would you like to see a brand new, slightly darker Super Mario film, which could pave the way for a more mature 3d mario game?

I was thinking of how Nintendo could interest more NEW adult gamers into playing Mario bros.
I thought maybe a new darker film (almost like they've done with turtles recently) with all the characters of course. Imagine the end battle with mario and a huge cgi bowser. That sold me straight away.
Of course a new 3d hd game launched alongside could sseriously push some sales!

Honestly, I have enough of Mario on all his forms.., except if he shows up for Galaxy 3....

I guess a Zelda movie would be more appealing, to me at least

"Mature" and "dark" should never be near the Mario franchise. Mario is a happy and light franchise.

How about no? I don't care for Mario that much but having a dark Mario game could be as bad as Shadow The Hedgehog That's like giving Kirby a gun and having him head shot zombies, not gonna work

Is there any way NintendoLife could create some kind of forum filter that would prevent threads such as this from even being posted?

I would buy a Kirby game like that.

No, closest you'll get with Mario and a more mature game is Smash Bros. (....and Monster Hunter 4/U, sort of, lol)

"Dark and Mature" is the reason the original Mario movie was a huge fail.

I can't imagine a 'dark and mature' Mario movie being that good simply because of the kind of franchise that Mario is. If a Mario movie is ever made again, it shouldn't try to be 'dark and mature' and instead focus on capturing the feel of the games, the silly charm that makes up the world of Mario. If anything, a Mario movie should be made by pixar.

Legend of Zelda on the other hand would work as a 'dark and mature' movie.

Exactly. If you want a mature or dark series, make a new one, or do it where it might actually be appropriate like for Zelda or Metroid.

I do not believe Mario and "Dark and Mature" are two things that mix well together.

the closest mario can ever get to being "dark" will just be those little things in his games that can be considered kinda ... messed up when you really think of it such has stomping on turtles or ditching his dinosaur pal to a pit geting him a slightly higher jumps. that kinda stuff is fine because its just what you make of it (despite it probably never being intended to get considered as dark to begin with) ... nintendo purposely trying to make a game like mario dark though ... just no that just wont work. its not exactly easy to explain why it wouldnt work (dont got the time to explain why) its just ... it wont work that idea is just doomed to fail. it might be more appropriate for zelda maybe, even more appropriate for a game like metroid... for mario though just no

just a nintendo gamer on a nintendo related site (who wouldve seen that one coming?)

I would actually play that.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.
