I'm not mad and I don't feel double-crossed. Nintendo didn't make me and I've had my Wii U for almost a year. I didn't feel mad about the 3DS either, but if Nintendo wants to give me more ambassador games, I wouldn't be particularly unhappy about it.
Not essential at all. The Wii U is an awesome console and I've played the heck out of these past 10 months. Although I would not turn my nose up at free games, I don't see why something like this is needed in the least.
Ambassador program? We got 7 games practically free, plus the more time goes on, the more a Wii U deluxe membership is less worth it. People should stop begging for stuff that Nintendo doesn't owe you.
Well, I wouldn't call what I said begging, sorry you see it that way.

Buffalo wings are a gift from the gods themselves.
You pretty much have to expect the price of electronics to drop within a year, and I'm sure the cost of making the system has gone down. It's not a big price drop in relation to the cost of the system. We got the 30-cent promo. I don't need an apology from Nintendo over this.
If they should be apologizing for anything it's the delays with the game releases that made it nearly pointless for us to be early adopters.

Yeah, if ambassador games aren't offered like they were on 3DS, then I highly doubt many of the current Wii U owners will ever be an early adopter of another one of Nintendo's systems. They basically act as insurance for people that don't want to feel gimped.
I know that after two price drops before the end of their first respective years, there's no way I'm buying a Nintendo system at launch again.

I think Nintendo could make some deal here. Give early adapters some super sweet program, but extend it to anyone who buys the Wii U before the price drop hits. That way they might still be able to push some units over the next three weeks.
Yeah, because I really need compensation for nintendo giving it a $50 drop after almost a year. I might sue them, this is INSANITY. CALL THE POLICE!!1ONE!1!
Hell no, early adapters should not get anything. Some of the recommendations here from multiple GameCube games and such are absurd. Nintendo already gave the 30 cent promo. Nintendo makes quality stuff and you've gotta pay for it. A bigger user base is your reward and the benefits of that could be glorious.
@Cyberbotv2
It's still a possibility, though. I'm not expecting it at all, but it could happen. $50 isn't as much, especially compared to $350 and $80 from $250 on the 3DS.
We'll just have to see, but ya, no one should really feel ripped off and complain. This sort of thing happens all the time.

Did anyone get pissed at Sony for all the dumb stuff they did? RROD on Xbox 360, PS3 originally being an outrageous price, constant price drops on both of those systems, PSN going down, and charging for online.
Things could be alot worse, and they have been. Get over it.
I think they might discuss some sort of reward for early adopters soon in like a Nintendo Direct or something, but I don't really care if they do or not.

For what it's worth, the first batch of RRODs were all fixed for free, PSN going down resulted in free games on both of Sony's platforms, and charging for online has made for a higher quality and more consistent service. As for price drops, it only happened to PS3 within the first year. The 360s first drop was two years after release. Also, it helps that those systems were somewhat consistent when it came to delivering games when they were supposed to come out.
It's not like compensation is uncommon, either. It happened with the N64 (free Mario Kart 64), the XBOX (free Halo and DOA 3) and the 3DS.
Also, just to clarify, this potential compensation is not because Nintendo owes anybody anthing. It is to keep the early adopters, Nintendo's most avid fans, happy. If Nintendo's most dedicated fans won't be willing to buy Nintendo's future systems at launch due to previous early price drops, that won't bode well for them.

I loved these times when the PSN went down... Free games!
They also returned me quite the amount in taxes money for some reason. Why do I pay taxes in the eShop but not the PSN store? It's the same address!
I don't get taxed on the eShop, but PSN is region-free, so they never established taxes for any region.
@moomoo
Yes, the Xbox 360 didn't get a price drop as soon, but both of those systems got annual price drops after that first drop they did in one way or another. Once Microsoft dropped the regular Xbox 360 at retail, the slim systems have been pretty consistent on price.
Compensation is regular as well, but even so, things don't always work out how everyone wants them to.
I honestly don't see the need for compensation in this case. They might, but I don't expect them to, and I bought the system day one and have thought it is a good console so far. Ya, more software is good, but it still has good software like Tekken, ZombiU, Lego City, VC, etc.
For it what it does have, it's pretty good, IMO, and there will be more.

This guy knows what he is talking about. You want more third party's (insert price drop) (insert larger userbase). I can't wait to see all the self entitled people freak out if Nintendo try's to sell the ambassador 3ds games in the future.
A Wii U Ambassador Program isn't necessary. I got it day 4 and am not disappointed one bit. There is a plethora of good games at the moment with plenty more on the way. Quit whining and start diversifying your taste for game genres.
