How about no sequels and just do something new and fresh, just thinking out aloud... on a keyboard... ok i'll stop
a sequel(especially in Zelda) means more similar artstyle and related story than anything else, it can be whole new experience, gameplay wise looks at Zelda 2, A Link Between Worlds and Phantom Hourglass

Because we're talking about one franchise known for a loose continuity and games released out of chronological order. It's a given that any Zelda game is going to come before or after one that already exists in the series. What we're discussing is which one that should be.
Wind Waker is technically a direct sequel to Ocarina of Time in terms of chronology. Did those feel like the same game?
zelda 2. its about time we got a zelda 3. look, i've already got the story. zelda gets kidnapped by ganon and link rescues her by collecting seven things that somehow unlock the ability to save zelda.

oh wait, i just summarized nearly every zelda game. i'm sorry if you haven't played zelda ii, LttP, OoT, Spirit Tracks, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, or any other zelda game
i am part of a social group interested in uniting the world by painting it blue.
Blue blue.
True sequel to Wind Waker please. Phantom Hourglass was a sequel yes, but Spirit Tracks? Not really. A true, HD high polygon winwaker would be awesome. That or MM.
I liked A Link Between Worlds a lot, and I consider to be about as equal as A Link to the Past. About, mind you (the SNES game is still top contender for best Zelda, in my book, but it comes close); I still have to do the harder Hero mode for the game, but playing the 3DS entry made me feel right at home and at the same time felt totally new, as far as the Hyrule in these two were concerned
Now, if Link's Awakening were going to get a sequel, I would snatch it in a heartbeat. Make it happen, Ninty!
Why is it that I had never heard of this game until like two days ago...?
Then you're one of the lucky ones.
I liked Link's Crossbow Training a whole lot!
For what Link's Crossbow Training was, it was very fun. Is it a "Zelda" style of gameplay? No. Was it a fun, semi-on-rails shooter? Yes. Did it show off the Zapper well? Yes but the Zapper was never mandatory.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
