This thread is for any undercover Nintendo agents on the web. Please start including the Wii U Pro Controller in future bundles to help court new customers to the Nintendo family. I often have friends over to my house to play the latest Nintendo games because they are all Xbox/PS guys. When they are here, a lot of them dislike using the gamepad and prefer to use my wii remotes or when possible, my 1 Wii U Pro Controller. Nintendo, if you are willing to bundle multiple items with Mario Kart 8, why not do the same for other high profiled names? I think an outstanding combination for Wii U would be a Watch Dogs Wii U bundle. 32 GB Deluxe model with gamepad, wii u pro controller, and a physical copy of the game. I think this would appeal to more gamers and give them an option to play games with different controllers. Mario Kart 8 just proved the system is not underpowered and games in HD can look fantastic on their system. Watch Dogs will look fantastic on the Wii U, so why not give people the future generation controller they need/want? The gamepad is a great piece of tech and having it as a supplemental choice gives the customer more options. Nintendo still gives us the gamepad so they can experiment with new games. Like it or not, the Big N is in love with the gamepad right now; its not going anywhere.

The 2 biggest reasons my friends don't buy a Wii U are the following: They don't like the controls and they think the library of games is limited. They all love the first party games and the graphics, so the big names of 2014 (DKTF,MK8, B2, SSBU) are enjoyable to most of my friends who play them/see them when they research. Most really dislike the gamepad.

People need to stop asking for this. You can't leave out a controller that's required for half the game library.

I think you mean the gamepad when you say controller, right? If thats the case, you need not worry! I merely want the Wii U Pro Controller included in the already existing bundles that include the system and gamepad. I want to keep the gamepad and add the pro controller.

You don't see people not buying XB1 or Sony consoles because they don't like the controller. Ludicrous. Infact, the PS4 controller is generally speaking disliked, but it's not stopped people buying them.

In any case what you are basically asking for is some sort of a dude-bro bundle to get the same treatment as the first party/second party Nintendo stuff bundle.

I can bet your bottom dollar that Watch Dogs will get no such treatment, and rightly so. So, tell them to try the ZombiU bundle instead, that comes with everything except a Pro Controller charger.

Ahh, yep, I misunderstood the original post. I do wish they would include a second controller, though honestly I would be happy with either the Pro or a Wiimote being bundled, since the Wii U has full backwards compatibility (that I use quite a bit).

I honestly don't see how it would hurt Nintendo to do this and I think it's ludicrous not to try. When I bought my Wii U back in February one of the first items I bought along side it was the pro controller, and I love it. Very comfortable and Xbox veterans would feel right at home using it. With the way the Dualshock 4 is designed, it wouldn't be too much of a transition for the PS guys either.

I'm pretty sure you literally can't turn on the Wii U without the gamepad. And there are games you literally can't play without the Gamepad on start-up.

Err, you mean the DualShock 4 is generally considered to be a huge improvement over the 3, and arguably the best controller on the market.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Too little, too late. If Watch_Dogs on Wii U had been released simultaneously with the other versions, then yes, a Watch_Dogs console bundle or even a retail bundle including the Mario Kart 8 Console Bundle + a bonus copy of Watch_Dogs could have persuaded fence-sitters to take the plunge. As it stands, everybody who wants the game would have bought it for their PC/PS/Xbox system of choice.

It is also likely that the Wii U version of Watch_Dogs will be released at full retail price (or at best, a U.S. MSRP of $10 less than the other versions) while all of the other versions will be available for considerably less (as Ubisoft games are often discounted mere months after release), making the Wii U version an even less appealing proposition.

I'm still holding out for the Wii U version, however, I am now reluctant to buy it at launch since the Wii U version is (presumably) based on the PS3/Xbox360 build (which is significantly inferior, according to reviews), and the fact that Ubisoft clearly did not consider the Wii U version to be a high enough priority to release it alongside the other platforms. I'll wait for a review first as the Wii U version could potentially be either the best or the worst version of the game.

At first I thought you meant a special edition bundle of the game+pro controller. I would be all over that - I'm surprised Nintendo still hasn't offered this kind of bundle (Monster Hunter seems to fit the bill); there were several for the CCPro(Xeno, Goldeneye, Monster Hunter, The Last Story). It's the main reaso I don't have a Pro Controller yet; so far my CC and 2 CCPros have sufficed for multiplayer.

I thought the whole reason people might want the Wii U version of Watchdogs is due to the hacking stuff being done with the gamepad. (Or is it just a quick and dirty port ? In which case why is it taking so long)

Yeah I dont see this happening. The whole selling point of Watch_Dogs on the Wii U is using the Gamepad for the hacking bits and what not. Why on earth would Nintendo throw that uniqueness out by bundling a Wii U pro controller. Also if they were to start bundling Wii U Pro controllers with systems it would give developers the wrong idea that Nintendo themselves aren't serious about the gamepad.

Honestly if your friends are the ones having the problem maybe they should buy their own Wii U pro controllers.

I also prefer the Wii U Pro Controller......but....

I don't think Watch Dogs will be a system seller for the Wii U, at all,......and there is no need for a bundle. After completing Watch Dogs on the PS4, I'll admit it's a good if not unspectacular game,,,,,,and due to the fact that is has been released already on every non-Nintendo home console, it's hype has died off a bit. Now, I will say that the mechanics in Watch Dogs could be utilized in a lot of clever ways with the gamepad (using it for the cameras, hacking, scanning, as well as the more traditional map overlay and inventory).......but I don't think this is in Ubi's plans. Maybe if the Wii U was outselling everything else, but that's not reality right now.
