I think that's a considerable idea, but Nintendo probably wouldn't use guns unless they wanted to appeal more older buyers. I bet'chu swords and dragons, but even Dragon Quest exists.
I can see Nintendo using guns but just not in a game that's set in an overly grim and gritty world.,
Something with deep story and lore. Zelda is the closest they've come to that [which is why I love the games], but Nintendo has often veered away from this approach [and yes, there is Xenoblade, but Monolith Soft is second party, really]. They focus on gameplay, which is great, but I would like them to have a try at a story rich Adventure-RPG.
Would like to see Nintendos take on an RPG with companions style game like DA:O, D:OS n such.
With coop on the same screen and online if possible.
Frankly there needs to be more western style RPGs on Nintendo systems, both WiiU and 3DS. Not that I don't like Bravely Default, Fire Emblem etc. But variation is always good.

It's almost like they have series that do this... help me out here, something about folding in space... wormholes! No, what is it, what are they folding? Something to do with lasers...

Interesting, local coop for Paper Mario could be fun. But did you mean ARPGs? They kinda have Monster Hunter on lock for that. If you ask me, those are pretty great 'Nintendo' takes on either style of RPG.
I'd like Nintendo to use the same sort of approach used in Smash, with a large offering of characters from video game land, in slightly more sim-like sports games. Mario Strikers is a great game but its crying out for expansion into 11-a-side and with a slightly less casual-crazy approach, while retaining the fun and humour. Then apply the same model to other sports.
So you want more Mario and Sonic games.
Well, not really, no.
The Mario/Sonic Olympic games are just a collection of mini-games (from my limited experience, at least). What I'd like is a bit more sim/rpg style depth to a single sport, rather than a shallow compilation offered by the current franchise. But retaining the fun factor.

Haven't played much of Monster Hunter, only spent a few hours on the third one on 3ds. But I wouldn't call that series an RPG of any kind. More of a third person action game with very little dialogue or story.
Meant more like the ones I mentioned, Divinity: Original Sin and Dragon Age: Origins. Great stories with your own created character, where your actions/dialogue have impact/consequences on the world/story/outcome of quests.
Divinity: Original Sin does coop really well, ones of the best coop games in a long long time. Only on PC for now but it's getting en enhanced edition update later this year, free for current PC owners and the game will be released on Xbox one and PS4. But no WiiU
I'd like to see the next Mario game go downa road similar to Lego City: UUndercover. That game showed open world doesn't have to be gritty and can have humour.
Maybe Nintendo can make their own rhythm game series? I'm not talking about a Guitar Hero or Rock Band game, but something more unique like Namco's Taiko no Tatsujin. It wouldn't be a rhythm game based off another series, but its own thing. Nintendo always has unique concepts for each genre, so I'm sure they can make a really unique rhythm game.

Wii Music failed, hard. Not sure if Rhythm games are really worth it. When they explode, they are worth it but when they don't they don't make a lot.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

They already made Rhythm Heaven, which is the best rhythm game ever, so I'm not sure the point. But of course at the same time, it isn;t like making Mario 3 stopped them from making platformers.

I wasn't aware Nintendo made these games. Wow. Where have I been? I need to check these games out.

Rhythm Heaven does not get nearly enough credit. Both the DS and Wii game are so brilliantly made, such perfect examples of "simple to learn, difficult to master" gameplay. Barring Xenoblade I'd honestly consider it to be the best Nintendo IP so far this century.
I blame the lack of relevance to 1 of them coming out right when Guitar Hero suddenly died and tried to kill the market of the entire genre and the other being a 2012 Wii game.
An MMO in the "Nintendo Universe." Ha. Shooting for the stars, but can you imagine how awesome that would be? Of course, it would be an MMO with Nintendo's usual twist and ease of access.
3D world, of course, but lots of platforming (jumping puzzles from Wildstar or Guild Wars 2 but WAY more fleshed out), plenty of adventure in the style of Zelda, mini games in the form of Mario Kart and Splatoon...
The project would be massive, but gosh golly, if done right (and Nintendo could do it right), it would be amazing. And stuff like this has happened before. Marvel and DC have brought their "universes" into MMO forms, and does anybody else remember that Disney MMO from a while back? Toontown Online? Came out in 2003, so I was already older to seriously play it, but I do remember I liked a lot of the stuff it did and it had a nice feel to it.
Anyway, basically, it can be done, and it can be done in different and very interesting ways. Not every MMO needs to be an MMORPG like WoW or Guild Wars - it can just be an MMO more in the style of a grand adventure.

The sarcasm is so blatant I'm missing it... what?
Metroid?
..I'm brilliant. I was trying to work my head around it being Star Fox but that didn't work. Then I thought of other franchises outside of Nintendo that Haru17 might've been alluding to. Yeah... whale fail.
That said, I think Nintendo could explore that genre more nonetheless.

It is sad that they are making and will be releasing a game that will expand on the Metroid universe and people are just complaining about it.
