Would love to see a new jRPG franchise from Nintendo. A title somewhat similar to the "Tales of..." series, definitely story-driven, both single and multiplayer, would be everything that I need. And in addition to that, another one being something between the Phantasy Star/Sword Art Online thing, but not a MMORPG in the full meaning of the genre - set it in the futuristic/virtual world (lol at this, but you know what I mean - just like in the SAO, .hack series), more action-oriented, enabling both single and local multiplayer modes (including co-op, and online, too, if that wouldn't be asking too much), and it could be another great series expanding with new entries in it.
And an epic action-adventure series would be really nice, too - combining both the story and gameplay mechanics. I don't know, something Uncharted-like, but set in a totally different theme that only Nintendo could create.
It's almost like they have series that do this... help me out here, something about folding in space... wormholes! No, what is it, what are they folding? Something to do with lasers...
The sarcasm is so blatant I'm missing it... what?
Metroid?
..I'm brilliant. I was trying to work my head around it being Star Fox but that didn't work. Then I thought of other franchises outside of Nintendo that Haru17 might've been alluding to. Yeah... whale fail.
That said, I think Nintendo could explore that genre more nonetheless.
It is sad that they are making and will be releasing a game that will expand on the Metroid universe and people are just complaining about it.
Well expanding on the Metroid universe isn't what people are complaining about with this game, but I don't expect it to do much for Metroid's lore beyond "Hey guys, the Federation does stuff without Samus!". It probably won't have scanning, which is by far the biggest contributor to Metroid's lore and storyline.

And yet majority of players completely skip scanning, or at least reading all of the scans. I think Federation Force will give a more global view on the Metroid Universe, while other Metroid games focus on 1 character and a few areas. At least, that is what I expect from what I have seen.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

For what it's worth, in an interview with the creator, he did say the game would feature a good story.
Haven't played much of Monster Hunter, only spent a few hours on the third one on 3ds. But I wouldn't call that series an RPG of any kind. More of a third person action game with very little dialogue or story.
Well, it is an RPG, just a mechanically-centric one.
Meant more like the ones I mentioned, Divinity: Original Sin and Dragon Age: Origins. Great stories with your own created character, where your actions/dialogue have impact/consequences on the world/story/outcome of quests.
That's great and all, but Nintendo would never make that game. To my memory, they have never made a complicated, mechanically janky game. That's just not their MO. Monster Hunter and Paper Mario are 'Nintendo' RPGs because they are complex, but are deeply intuitive.

Yeah, but all devs say that. Remember all of those 'you can create your own story' PR statements, which is lying-through-ones-teeth-ese for 'we didn't put any effort into the story.' They need to show not tell, because you just can't trust publishers, especially Nintendo, to craft a good story for their games.
And for the record I was cryptically alluding to Metroid and Paper Mario (hence folding), the narratively involved games that Nintendo just stopped making years back.
Well, they co-own the Fatal Frame IP, so that's pretty much locked down as an exclusive series, and I'm sure Namco Bandai (or is it Koei Tecmo?) would be more than willing to make another one if Nintendo gives them the money to comission another one (however unlikely that may be).
Also, you have the Luigi's Mansion series for a more "All Ages" variant.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
They already did that:
Granted, they could always make another one in that genre...or just give Eternal Darkness a sequel.
Talking of Eternal Darkness, Ninty are keeping hold of the trademark of Eternal Darkness but with no sequel or remake on the horizon I reckon Ninty don't know what to do with the series. It's not something they are likely to do themselves, Silicon Knights is bust, Denis Dyack has got some scrutiny to deal with and there's no obvious 2nd party to do it either.

Everybody's going to have an opinion, but truthfully nobody can really grasp what goes on behind the scenes at EAD and elsewhere.
If I have a personal preference, some kind of crazy crossover Avengers style, like a FFTactics style game with Zelda, Metroid, and Xenoblade characters. XDD
@Bolt_Strike: Retro's being a little skittish in their new project reveal, if they even have one. Let's leave them out of ED till we know what's actually going on (only cause I heard some pretty nasty stuff behind the cancellation of Project HAMMER, so I don't want the truth getting worse from here... )
Has Nintendo ever done a foot racing game like Sonic R? I would play that.
I've seen very few foot racing games period. The racing genre in general could use a lot more diversity, it's mainly just car sims and mascot kart racers right now. Between foot racing, board racing, and whatever you would call Wave Race, there's a lot more that could be done with the genre.

Agreed fully. Best suggestions I ever heard in this entire thread. I would also like to see a new JRPG series from Nintendo that's inspired by Persona, Tales and Final Fantasy. Monolith is great but I wanna see another studio try. Actually.... Golden Sun should have evolved into what we want by now.
I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!
