I loved the Robocop movie too bad its sequels got progressively worse the 3rd is completely unwatchable to me, as for a good game featuring Robocop there was one that was very good it was Robocop vs Terminator on the megadrive the SNES version was very different and nowhere near as good, it was all action so none of Robocops humour sadly but still a lot fun for what it was.
robocop 3 was a jump- in- the- shark movie, it was so far removed from the first one which was raw and gritty. the 3rd film turned into a kiddie- family orientated fest.
a robocop game would be cool for the wii U, especially with the remake of the movie supposedly in production.

If Chris Nolan ever gets around to making that Inception game, I'm pretty sure they could do amazing things with Wii U.

@K0M1C, while I'm also hoping for a new Kirby, there's a strange tendency for Kirby games to show up towards the end of the system's life cycle.
I believe in make believe~

Honestly, I'll probably only be getting one game at launch, unless the system is dramatically cheaper than I expected. That game will most likely either be Ghost Recon Online, or Project CARS. Might consider Lego City Stories as well.

You make a good point here. Besides, realistically, most people aren't gonna buy more than a game or two at launch, so why put out so many and splinter the sales?

Totally perfect launch lineup?
-A new Metroid Prime (likely)-A new Zelda (very unlikely)-A new 3D Mario (less unlikely)-Wii Sports/Face Raiders/AR Games bundled software-Some new "core" Nintendo IP that surprises everyone-A bunch of major "core" third party console titles like a CoD or GTA (happening)
AND-A new game from a popular RTS series that has always been on PC THAT WORKS WELL on Wii U
They probably won't hit all of them, infact I'm fairly sure they won't, but if they do... that's going to be massive. Especially that last point. Going to the extreme, imagine a Wii U version of Starcraft at launch that works reasonably well. Near impossible but still, mind = blown.

Get realistic, people.
Lego City Stories
Built-in Chase Mii and Battle Mii
I'd say that Arkham City, Assassin's Creed 3, and Darksiders 2 are likely launch titles too.

The title of the thread is "perfect launch lineup?" not "what do you think the launch lineup will be?". Quite frankly your list is far from "perfect" and if it was just that I'd be struggling to find a reason to get it at launch. That makes it less than perfect given that... there have been launches where I HAVE wanted to get the console at launch. The Wii's launch lineup was more perfect than that because Wii Sports was interesting and Twilight Princess is Zelda.
If you want realistic then here goes:
While I wouldn't call that perfect I think that's both realistic and enough to make me want to get a Wii U. If the best game is New SMB? It's going to have to be doing something pretty damn amazing to convince me.

He listed the Lego game and Mario and Pikmin so I think he was trying to be ironic. I think.

all 3 on launch day...no. I severely doubt that. I'd like to be wrong though.

You could be. Pikmin and allegory have a high chance of being launch day and the new Mario could be a eshop game.
