hmm... looking a bit deeper they did talk about it at E3 last year and it's got a TBA 2012 release for the 3DS in Nintendo's financial briefings which makes a 2012 release for the 3DS highly probable. There's no mention of the Wii U in that but you'd expect them to do both at once. So know might be too strong a word but it's highly probable. You could easily put forward an argument that it's a more likely launch title than Pikmin or New SMB.... but I'd argue that all of them look pretty likely
Then again any of these games could be pushed back into 2013 so who knows.

A metroid prime game would sell me on this system for sure, and like some one else mentioned a new star tropics game would be awesome and if some one would remake battle of olympus that would be a dream come true. And I know it would never happen
I don't now what makes you thin that?It was only really the original NSMBW with HD graphics and Mii's.I'm pretty sure the WiiU version will be completely different. What makes me think that?Well the 3DS version has more detailed graphics than the original DS game so I'm pretty sure they wont release a version identical to the Wii with only dslightly touched up graphics,Be prepared to be wowed by NSMBW U,thats all I'm saying.

Be prepared to be wowed by the graphics in New SMB Wii U?................... Seriously? You're actually typing that and believing what you're saying? I'm a pretty huge Nintendo fan and I'm pretty interested in new New SMB games but.... really? That's just crazy talk.
I'm just saying that I think it's fairly safe to say that the game looked like it was pretty much finished. That the E3 demo from last year could be almost sold as is if it had a bunch of new levels... infact that's exactly what happened with New SMB Wii if I recall correctly. They really, really don't need to do much more visually and if you're expecting a drastic change from that E3 demo get ready to be disappointed. That demo looks very polished if you ask me.
edit: Actually I seem to remember some game journalists asking whether New SMB Mii would be a launch title or not given how complete it looked. Their response at the time was "no, this is just a demo of what the Wii U can do". The reason we KNOW about the Wii U New SMB game is because Nintendo literally said that there was a Wii U Mario game based on the New SMB Mii demo. Bash your head against the wall a few times if you think it was simply a "demo" of what the Wii U could do.
I wish they would make Pokemon Snap for the Wii U it would be perfect using the Wii U controler as the camera and the game would look beautiful with the Wii U's HD and graphics.

When I said 'wowed' I mean by the game in general. As Nintendo have said it will be based around the demo shown at last years E3 and not actually be the demo, gives me reason to believe (hope) it will be significantly different.I just cant see them releasing a 1st Mario title with basically the same graphics as the Wii version, there was no difference between the games whatsoever barring HD and Mii's.I can see the concept being the same but the graphics being much better. It wont be the showcase title for what the Wii U can do but I can bet it will be a great looking game regardless.
@wiiwii I respectfully disagree with your disagreement.
You're trying to say that the Wii U version will be more than just a minor graphical boost because why? Because the 3DS version has a minor graphical boost over the DS version. What revolutionary improvement did New SMB Wii have that New SMB did not? It was new level ideas and improved visuals but nothing much more.
Sure there will probably be some hook in there. The Wii version did the four player co-op, the 3DS version will probably do something with the 3D and the Wii U version will probably do something with the tablet. These aren't revolutionary ideas though nor are they things that suggest the E3 demo of New SMB Mii could have easily been a nearly finished game. They probably had a nearly finished game back then and they probably have both the 3DS and Wii U New SMB games sitting on a shelf somewhere waiting to launch........ that's the only point I'm making here.

I think Darksiders II was already confirmed to be a launch game but I could be wrong.
We don't know for sure if Mario Wii U is a "New Super Mario Bros." game. It could be the "Super Mario Bros. 4" that's been rumored. Nintendo said what was shown was only a tech demo, not like the full game.
It wouldn't be the first time they'd shown a "tech demo" that turned out to be pretty much identical to a latter full game. Just saying, whatever it's called, New SMB Mii looked very, very polished.

You realize HD games are costly. I highly doubt a Pokemon Snap game would become HD

You make a good point here. Besides, realistically, most people aren't gonna buy more than a game or two at launch, so why put out so many and splinter the sales?
I dunno why everyone is wanting Nintendo to release a whole bunch of their games at launch. It's a terrible business move because their own franchises will be competing with one another and that's quite counterproductive. Not to mention we might see a repeat of the Wii where 1st party games overshadow the 3rd party games.
A perfect launch line up should be a healthy mix of 3rd party and 1st party games. One big Nintendo franchise (Mario or Zelda) and maybe 1-2 lesser known franchises (F-zero, Star Fox, etc.) should suffice for Nintendo.

Yeah, I'd expect a 3DS game myself, or Wii U ware at most.

Here's an idea. Instead of bundling the next version of Wii Sports or whatever they should give you eShop credit to the value of that game. Let you spend it on whatever WiiWare, Wii VC, Wii U VC, Wii U Ware or Wii U game on the eShop you want that's available at the time. Get you online downloading games from the start AND give you the option to not get the Wii Sports whatever and instead pick up Wind Waker on the VC or something....
