Anyone find this "non-wearable" thing kind of strange? Maybe I'm just being selfish, but Nintendo spending more resources on fitness oriented apps / games / technology is the last thing I wanted to read. Ever since the Wii explosion Nintendo's focus has been strained due to them trying to cater to the casual audience, and it sounds like that's not receding at all. Kind of a bummer. I was hoping to hear Iwata lay out a simple & bold outline of what's gonna happen with the Wii U, but instead we gotta just wade into the "blue ocean" and see what happens!

It's about money
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
I think it's a scenario where they have already done a lot to try do directly "save" the WiiU. It didn't work, so now they're trying to find ways to indirectly "save" it.
I also think they know that the fitness market is big and they have hard proof that people like fitness oriented software & hardware - seeing as that was a big part of the Wii. They seem to have loads of ideas surrounding fitness & health. I've always wondered what happened to the Vitality Sensor.
To me it is just them looking towards the future. They are just trying to figure out where the industry is going next. It is Nintendo being innovative... we will see what happens
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Yeah, I am totally confused about all this. I wonder if its a translation thing because the quotes I read it seemed Iwata was speaking a different language.
They're making way into the QOL and fitness markets but is doing it in such away that whatever the device is won't be wearable technologies like the Futbit, Pebble, or even the Wii Fit Meter.
Its about money, I don't think you guys expected Nintendo to only do video games forever.
WAT!

Wouldn't that be wearable? Maybe I am confusing that with the fit meter, never got much info about the vitality sensor.
You don't "wear" the vitality sensor, in some way yes you wear the fit meter because it goes with you. The no-wearable term also excludes the posibility of some king or watch. The vitality was meaning for been used along side with the wii. So, I think is going to be somekind of hardware that mostly will stay in home or carried in a bag, that can be used with console or a PC and do taskses like sensoring your health. In this particular, you can considerer the wii balance board in this same category.
i made an outfit entirely out of earthbound and little samson boxes, ill wear what i want thanks in advance

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.
And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)

I'm pretty sure Nintendo is being cryptic about this for now so some other company won't be able to copy them mid-development. Of course they'll probably do so anyway after whatever it is comes out...

They're simply expanding their business to health and fitness products rather than just video games and consoles. So if you're interested in Nintendo only for their games then don't worry about it.
