Wow, I had a feeling RoL would get 4/10, but SC too? SC actually looks semi-decent from the demo.
Damn like almost everyone predicted this game was going to get destroyed by reviewers it's sad.Now i know why Sega didn't want to send out review copies.
The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
The sad thing is that the reviewers could be entirely right but it doesn't matter. The glitches are inexcusable regardless but if the game is good or not, there is a real chance reviews would not change for certain people. Especially since people's previews for the game were not positive, which is a great way to make people biased against your game. I don't like accusing reviewers of ridiculous things...but some ridiculous things have happened with Sonic reviews in the past. Like people objectively just lying to people to say a game is bad. I dunno what would be better, reviewers being honest or the game actually being good...
Regardless, it at least seems like the game is just a mediocre beat-em-up with some Sonic things slapped onto it, which is a shame if true (but not too surprising). I wonder what went wrong though. 3 years from former Naughty Dog guys sounds like something great to me but if it isn't...why? How?

I would not blame Big Red Button for this, but Sega for failing miserably at managing production schedules. This isn't the first time either....Alpha Protocol, Aliens, and more. Sega has even been sued over it (in part). It was probably a result of Sega's rushing to meet deadlines, not putting enough people on Q&A, and not managing development schedules effectively.
If there's anyone to feel sorry for (other than Sonic fans disappointed with this game), it's Big Red Button. The fact the game was rushed isn't their fault, as they had no incentive to rush it. If the game gets bad reviews, they probably don't get their bonus.
Also to make a further point about reviews on Metacritic. Same deal with this game as it is with Assassin's Creed Unity, the average score is in the 4s and it's almost entirely just 0s and 10s. The difference being that the critics are really tearing Sonic apart given it has almost no redeeming qualities. However Assassin's Creed? Other end of the spectrum. This is why I think user reviews are pretty useless for games, too much of a fanboy mentality with people submitting scores.

This so much. The user reviews are so extreme that they're utterly worthless.
Also, some of those reviews were submitted from SEGA Forums members, and I know for a fact that one of them is just trying to drag the average down and one of them was a joke review.
Most reviews complain about constant backtracking? U never complained about that in metroid!
"I'll take a potato chip... AND EAT IT!"
Light Yagami, Death Note
"Ah, the Breakfast Club soundtrack! I can't wait 'til I'm old enough to feel ways about stuff!"
Phillip J. Fry, Futurama

Most reviews seem to complain about everything.
I think it mostly comes down to personal preference at times.Like how I don't mind the voice acting and slower paced gameplay, but others think it's the anti-Christ.

when people complain about back tracking in a Sonic game compared to a Metroid game it is for 1 main reason. The Metroid game made the back tracking fun, where the sonic game made it boring. Just like voice acting or slower gameplay. It doesn't matter what the "feature" is it has to be there to make the experience better, not longer.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

This Sonic Boom game on the Wii U looks like something i would play on the PS2, and not like the good action platformers like Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, or Jak and Daxter. I mean stuff like Tak and the power of Juju
A shame.
The 3DS demo was very engaging. If the whole game is based on the demo, then it will definitely get a 7 from NL.
I own every DS and 3DS game of Sonic, and this demo stands in the same venue as Sonic Rush (DS), Colors (DS), Brotherhood (DS) and Generations (3DS). Stil, I think that the best so far in the last 8 years has to be Colors.
