Topic: Super Mario Maker - OT

I hope they had Super Mario Bros 2 (USA) graphics in the future,that game doesn't get much love

Probably because it shares so little with the other games that its inclusion would be pointless

Are there 3 artstyles or 4? I know there's SMB, SMW and NSMBU. Is there also SMB3?

I think I'll just dogmatically stick to the SMW art style. Nostalgia

I'll mostly be using World and the original Bros. owo

I'm SO EXCITED for this game as it comes out 3 DAYS after my birthday!!!

Also I'll probably be making precise platforming levels or ones that are puzzling.

I'll be sticking to Super Mario World mostly, with a bit of SMB because it can use amiibo. Honestly I think World's art style is the best out of all of them. But maybe that's also because I grew up playing world

I'm sure we'll see plenty of NSMBU levels online though, due to the kiddies probably preferring that style.

Yeah ur probably right. I was worried there'll be a huge number of original Mario Bros levels (which is what i'll be doing) but I'm glad to see people are going for different art styles. I'll want to do a variety either way.

Speaking of which, is anyone else going to try to look for levels to 'unlock' all ? Mushroom amiibo character things? I only have 5 amiibo (6 when Olimar is released) so I can't offer much in that regards.

I wonder if the Olimar costume have pikmin following him?

At the start, yes. However, if I remember correctly, if your levels get good ratings, you'll be able to upload more.

I love the high pitched robot voice that calls out the item you're placing in the stage. Sometimes it says it in a different tone. I especially like how it says Lakitu's cloud. lol

I'm gonna make so many Super Mario World levels! That's my favorite 2-D Mario cause of the music, the vibrant graphics, awesome enemies & level design, and Yoshi! I'm really excited!

Yoshi was in NSMBU as well right? Can't remember. Haven't played it for over a year.

He is along with those special baby Yoshi's that do random stuff. Dunno if they're in this game, though.

I'm doing all kinds of levels and game palletes. I wonder if it will have a music maker?

@technotaylor98: Yep. brewsky's right. I think you can make up to a 100 levels or even more if your levels get high enough ratings. I like the idea though. It's pretty much: If you want to make a lot of levels, you have to earn it. And it definitely prevents a huge flood of crappy troll levels.

Super Mario World is definitely the most visually appealing of all the 2D Mario games (that have pixel sprites) in my opinion. And the atmosphere is so lively and energetic, I love it~

Also, the physics in SMW are definitely the best IMO.

Really can't wait for this.I always planned to get it but I didn't see myself making much levels but that's changed recently.I might still end up not making much but what I do make I plan on them being fantastic and refined to perfection.Even if it takes me a few weeks to make one so be it,it'll be done to the best of my ability.I already have a few ideas with what i'm going to do and can't wait to get started really haha.
